“Attended a funeral luncheon for my best friend's father. Food was very good and wait staff was very attentive and helpful. My first time there even though I grew up in DELCO and just a few miles down the road. I'm sorry I missed out for so long!“

I initially wanted to get the fried chicken with grits and collards but my Server mentioned the special for the night, the ribeye with macaroni & cheese and said he’d go with the ribeye. So I did! It was a double the price but I was out of town and why not treat myself to a steak! It did not disappoint, so so good. Unfortunately I had a bit of a headache so I didn’t have a cocktail but the iced tea was good. ? I live in Atlanta, so hopefully I’ll be back soon enough to try out a drink. I had a lovely meal and it was pretty busy Sunday night. I guess it’s a popular spot.“

“Walking in here and you're immediately greeted with a wonderful dark and cozy ambiance reminiscent of the early half of the 20th century. Decor and music all match the theme, and the mural of dogs overlook all diners. The wine and spirit menu is very extensive, and the cocktails are premium. The sidecar was actually 10/10 blended and tasted exactly as it should. The biscuits served to start come with delicious honey butter and are quite tasty, warm, and flaky. Steak was cooked beautifully and was a high end chop. The blue cheese melted on top added great savory flavor to complement the steak. The sides were great as well. Nicely cooked sprouts and very buttery, creamy mashed potatoes. Do recommend the baked Alaska though it is very sugary! Quite an uncommon dessert and they do it well. Nice end to the meal. “I order takeout from here occasionally, but it's been a while since I've dined there. So I went with some people for lunch one day since we were in the area after a networking event. It wasn't crowded, but felt full with a good number of people having lunch/brunch.The staff were all pretty friendly. We were seated right after walking in and the service was a good pace throughout the entire dining experience. We all ordered something different but seemed to enjoy what we got. One person ordered one of the sandwich specials, another ordered the Mel's Chicken Sandwich and I got the Sante Fe Turkey Burger with sweet potato fries. It was very tasty, filling and served at the right temperature. I also had their Blueberry Lemonade which was really good.As always, a reliable place for a good meal. I recommend coming for brunch or course, but lunch is a good option too.“

“First time at River Twice.Met up with some favorite friends from my American Water days. Interesting approach to a menu. There was a $75 fixed tasting menu and then a set of optional extras. I went with the soft shell crab special and everyone else did the burger (since we specifically came on burger Monday). This is a cozy small restaurant in the heart of Philly. We were seated at the counter and were able to watch the food prep. Pretty cool. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding.Plenty of food to satisfy your hunger in the tasting menu alone, but I am glad we added the extras. The starter was raw Maine scallops in a crème sauce.Unbelievably good! This was followed by the NJ sushi rice with smoked steelhead.Well made, filling, and slightlyunremarkable. The mackerel, steamed cabbage and sweet potato made up for it with a perfect bite of these three ingredients! My soft shell crab was very unusual, in a good way, with an interesting creamy sauce and pickled onions. The burger was outstanding!! Lots of nuanced flavors going on. “Customer service was exceptional. Seating area was a bit small but everyone was so friendly and worked as a team. Honestly the best service I ever had. I went for restaurant week and ordered the shrimp creole. Omg I cleaned my plate and was still salivating over the idea of more when I got home. My partner ordered the crab soup and the salmon. Eyes rolled in the back of his head y’all. Everything was so well and for my first time they left a lasting impression. Would definitely dine here again. “Came here for a business dinner. It was really an amazing experience. This place is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's a tapas style tasting menu so they just bring you out like a dozen different dishes. The portions were perfect and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance is really nice and although the space is small it's not loud at all. I thought the waiter was also very nice professional and knowledgeable. This is definitely a high end place that is worth a visit. This may be one of the best restaurants in Philly.“

“In from va beach for vball tournament. Local friend showed me around and I was lucky enough to land here. The short rib with asparagus and potatoes as side was nothing other than amazing. “Vernick Food & Drink- Philadelphia, Pa. 5 Stars NUMBER 1 ALL USA ALL-TIME!! As we drive north on Christmas Eve I felt a stop in the City of Brotherly Love was appropriate. It was not easy to reserve a fine dining adventure. Vernick could get us in at 11:00pm. I took it because I know how highly regarded this locale is. As we were driving I called and asked if there had been any cancellations. Lucky for me there was. 6:30pm. With a nine year old in tow it was much better. So we get to the restaurant and it's very small but packed to the rafters with people. This to me is always a good sign. All of the tables were very close together. However, being in an establishment like this you never have to worry. Everyone was dressed up and professional. They only downside to this review is it was too dark inside for me to snap pics of the food. I took them but they did not come out well. On to the substance of the experience. The drink menu is easily the coolest array of cocktails I have ever experienced. I started with the House Old Fashioned. A perfect balance of flavors between the bourbon, the butters and the Demerara sugar. My second drink was the Deshler a fine combination of top shelf rye whiskey, dubonnet and dry curaçao. If we were staying in town a few days I would have had more. As I perused the menu I began to wonder why restaurants with a diverse menu like Vernicks do not exist in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I started with fluke served sashimi style in a light piquant broth. The fluke was so fresh it was still moving on my plate. This was my first foray with fluke and it was way worth it. The adventure continued with veal sweetbreads. This organ was so juicy and tender. The sauce was decadent and smooth. I wrapped up with the venison. I have consumed venison over 20 times in my life. Every single time I always got a gamey note at the end. The Vernick venison was sans that note. How they did it I do not know. My daughter who is finicky tried it and thought it was filet mignon. After finishing the meal, we went to exit and the hostess was handing out packs of fresh baked chocolate fudge cookies. Thoroughly amazing. Big Boy rates this number 1 in the country.“

“I recently worked as a photographer at this bar/restaurant space that was being used for a wedding. There is a small space in the back thats great for pictures and small parties. They also have a bar upstairs and ample parking across the street. The appetizers were delicious and creative. Its a nice venue to hold a small event or to have drinks/dinner.“

I asked my daughter who is local for some recommendations and she recommended Good Dog Bar. There are many great restaurants in the center city area, but this one does a great job. At 6:30 on a Monday, the place was quite busy. We were able to get a booth. I didn't see any tables for large groups downstairs. Most of the bar area and tables were full when we started ordering. The beer selection is diverse and prices are reasonable. For my main dish, I had to try to vegan Philly Cheesesteak. You might say that this is quite blasphemous being in Philly and doing vegan. I'm not sure how they did it, but it was very tasty. They also have some awesome fries with it. As far as parking, find a lot or garage or it's better to use mass trans or bike.“

My family had dinner at your new location yesterday and it was hands down the best service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I never really take the time to leave reviews so the fact that I’m doing so speaks volumes. Food, atmosphere, service, and prices were all top notch. It’s always a struggle to find a restaurant with all 4 of those qualities, let alone a menu with enough options to please everyone in my family since they all have different tastes. “I visited for my birthday last March, because in my Google search it showed as kid friendly and all day breakfast. However, upon arrival the restaurant changed its menu and no longer serves all day brunch. But let me tell you the food was Absolutely Delicious and the staff were fantastic! The Chef even brought food out to our table and offered to take a group photo for us. I highly recommend the Mozzarella sticks which are more like egg rolls, the Bang Bang Chicken! “The Barnes Foundation Garden Restaurant is a gem! Beautiful setting and outstanding food and service. The Salade Nicoise was better than I had in Nice on a recent trip! Hats off to chef Michael O’Meara. The choice of greens and dressing superb. We came down from Northern Jersey, joined the museum , and will be back soon to the restaurant. Highly recommended.
