“This is my favorite local pizza spot. I love the single Sicilian slice deal and the half Sicilian pizza deal. The crust of it is crispy and delicious. The two kids that run the counter, the red haired kid and the quiet kid with glasses, both of them are really nice. The food is consistently good. When you walk in, you can see the food prep area and grill. Everything is clean and organized back there. having a clean kitchen is important to me because I worry about food contamination. I know my food will be clean and consistent when I order here.“

“Visited this morning for the first time. Got egg and cheese sandwiches, one croissant one ciabatta - both were amazing!! The lattes were delicious and rich. You can really taste the quality of the espresso. They were short staffed (1 employee who was grinding hard!) so I did wait about 25 minutes for two coffees and sandwiches. I didn’t mind that much and it was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Love love love Frankstown Wood fired Pizza! I crave it everyday. My boyfriend and I like the margarita pizza. So much so that we get it about once a week. Workers and owners are very kind and make delicious food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients of both the toppings and dough in every bite. I ordered a glass of wine and was served an extremely hefty pour (no complaints here). Our server was really kind and checked on us intermittently, and ended up chatting with us for a while. “Alta Via is definitely a favorite place of mine now. Tonight was my third time coming, and our server Eddie was absolutely amazing. He saved our night! (We had a horrible experience at another resturaunt, so we left and came to Alta Via in Market Square!) He was so attentive to our needs and really went above and beyond! Food is always delicious, drinks are amazing and the focaccia bread they bring out is to die for. Highly recommend! And ask for Eddie at the Market Square location!“

Yes, Joe is our cousin and that is definitely warm and wonderful but Louise, Joe's matriarch, was there too which made it extra special. “My wife and I stopped in on a whim for dinner. Great decision! She had the rigatoni diablo and I had spaghetti and meatballs. Our dishes were delicious, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and fast. The decor was not fancy but the restaurant was clean and neat. All in all a great place to go for a satisfying Italian meal!“

“They make really good sandwiches. I had the Italian sub. The bread was soft and chewy and the fillings were tasty. I will probably go extra meat next time just because it tasted so good. My wife had the fish sandwich. This was no little fish sandwich! The filet of fish hung out a good 3 inches in each side of the bun. It's a plain sandwich with just the fish, but it was light and flakey (you can add cheese, tartar or ketchup. I would definitely recommend it.“

“The owner knew my father so I order their pizza all the time!! I will admit it's great pizza! Perfectly made. I love their wings, which is new for me. they had a smaller location years ago and didn't make wings then. So I guess what I'm saying is their success speaks for itself. He owns a bigger shop than originally and its successful because this man is dedicated and skilled at what he does. Their food is made by a man who has done this for so many years of his life that he perfected his art!!!! So if your looking for good pizza, hoagies, wings, Stromboli and much more, that taste better than others, it's better to get it from a place that busted their buns to be a local family favorite. “Well The Hood made his way to Monroeville Pa! Stopping at the coal pizza to try it. Well… the food was good had some white pizza and wings with dry rub ( recommended by our server, wings that is). Not a fan of the dry rubs but this wasn’t bad… Th e pizza was burnt on the edges but it’s their style but it was still good. Had spinach artichoke dip and it was great! Got a chopped salad also and it was delicious! Recommend both! So overall food was good. Service- excellent! He kept an eye on us and checked often if needed anything! Atmosphere- nice lots of pics of past people you’ll see when you go. And The Hood recommends you go! Maybe a 10-15 minute walk if you plan on having more than a few beers!
