But the smoked meat sandwich i ordered was tough. Found out afterwards smoked meat not a brisket which i was expecting with that ridiculous price but in a pouch. Disgusting tough great chow toy for a dog”

“Pub. We go there for breakfast. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Many frequented by regulars, children and families welcome. Fresh egg dishes, nothing too fancy but delicious, pancakes or thin pancakes, French toast, maple syrup, everything is good. The prices are very reasonable. No Interac but private counter in the square. Cash and credit accepted. Free street and rear parking. I go back there often. I recommend.”

“One of the best meals we had in Montreal, and we particularly enjoyed the Bluefin Tartare, Maitake, and Kohlrabi. The sauce used for the Kohlrabi had a nice spicy punch which was really nice. The Grassfed Angus Beef was juicy and tender too!

“Expectations were extremely high given all the recent accolades and I have to say I was ready to be disappointed. Marco, Jessica, Vanya, and their wonderful team blew my expectations out of the water.

Dishes like the foie cookies with habanada jelly, and the conserve leeks with fermented chips and mussel mayo are nostalgic in flavour, but creative and fun in their execution.

Their wine list is nothing short of impressive, with many references you’d have a hard time finding outside of a passionate collectors personal cave. Prices are also very reasonable by the glass relative to most wine bars around.

Atmosphere is what you hope for with Montreal dining; far from pretentious but very attentive and warm.

We left having gone through half the menu, and I did not feel heavy or overly full at all.

“We are visiting and stumbled across Au Pied dr Cochon. Everyone there was so helpful in getting us a table even though it was very busy and our waiter Emile was absolutely wonderful! He gave us great recommendations and great service. The food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 recommend!”

“I've been wanting to experience Joe beef for a very long time. As you walk in, it felt very cozy and welcoming, as we were greeted by this very friendly hostess. The staff were efficient, and our waiter was great as well. He explained the menu in detail. We wanted to share some of the dishes as I knew it would be way too much food, and also because we've also ordered some appetizers. We took home so much food home, the portions for the shareable dishes were very generous. The wait for the food was on the longer side, as well as for the cocktails. Overall, the food was delicious, but my expectations were high, and I think I've expected a tad more, in some of the dishes.”

We had the raw halibut which was similar to a ceviche, the muscles with the salsa which were my favourite, pork and beef skewers, as well as three different salads, the green mint bean salad, the salad with mixed greens, as well as the zucchini salad. We also had the grilled arctic char and the lobster risotto. The risotto portion, I expected to be larger esp as a main, but with all the food we had, we were full.”

Every dish was ridiculously good no matter what we ordered. We had the razor clams, radicchio blue cheese salad, croquettes, beef tartare, a few other amazing dishes I’m missing but by far the best was the smoked meat shepherds pie, insane.”
