“Stopped by for a late lunch last Saturday and ended up completely floored by the duck in a can, which the server actually cracked open tableside and it smelled incredible. The dining room has this cozy, wood paneled energy that photographs beautifully in the afternoon light coming through the front windows, so I couldn't help snapping a few shots before digging in. Staff were friendly and didn't rush us even though we lingered for almost two hours chatting and taking pictures of the plates. Portions are huge, the foie gras poutine is genuinely worth the hype, and I'm already planning a return trip with a wider lens.“

“I solo travel at least once a year and decided to come to Montreal for the first time over my birthday weekend. My first meal/birthday dinner was at Le Vin Papillon and I can’t express what a wonderful experience I had. The mushrooms might be the most incredible dish I’ve ever tasted (I will likely dream about them) and the ham was equally delightful. I sipped on the Martinez Rose (delicious but very strong- do not order if you’re a lightweight). 😂. The staff surprised me with a carrot cake ice cream sandwich and while I don’t typically enjoy carrot cake…this was next level.

More importantly, the staff was superb. They were so welcoming and attentive. I’d love to give a special shout out to Flo- thank you for your kindness and for making my birthday dinner so special.

If you plan on visiting, don’t skip on the tasting menu. I highly recommend dining here and experiencing it to its full potential. The service was also great. “Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“Despite a competing event on the soccer field next door, the outdoor patio out back had a great vibe and a super cozy ambience. The server was great, and the busser was outstanding - she was efficient without being intrusive, filling our water glasses, cleaning the table, bringing us extra bread, etc. and all with a smile. The food, as always, was exceptional. Of course we'll be back!“

“Came in for a late breakfast/brunch while on holiday. Turned out to be a popular spot but we got the choice of seating inside or outside since there was plenty seating.

So much choice, ample portions and well priced. Will be a tough decision to go anywhere else in the city for breakfast.

“What an exquisite atmosphere! I could hardly tell the difference form this restaurant from the actual cave i visited in Afghanistan when i was 12 years old. They served me a samosa that was an absolute delicacy. I prefer these samosas to the indian ones!!! The servers were incredibly polite despite the fact i do not understand arabic! 10/10!“

“This is the worst location ever. The manager and the employees are very rude and they are very disrespectful. According to my experience the service deteriorated to below the acceptable level. Very disappointing.“

I have tried several items on the menu and each one was delicious! You can tell the Chef has plenty of experience and takes pride in what he prepares for his customers! “If I could put 10 stars for the service, the food and the atmosphere, I would. It was an incredible experience. The young woman who looked after our table really went the extra mile. I’ve rarely experienced such excellent service and she gave sound advice. Unfortunately, I don’t know her name, but she works on Friday evenings. I’d like to thank her again. She managed to turn our evening into an exceptional experience.

So, I highly recommend this restaurant for its choice of dishes and cocktails, its originality, the warm welcome we received and the friendliness of the staff. Moreover, the prices were affordable.“

“This small ice cream shop gets very busy at night. There are no seats, so it is a strict grab-and-go spot. I think the place is okay. The flavors are nothing special, but they have a lot of options on the menu. They have frozen custard and many fruit sorbets, so there is something for everyone. The best part was the staff. They were very friendly and nice, even though it was crowded. It is a good spot to walk by and grab a quick sweet treat.“
