“We decided to come here as a family for Valentine's Day. Our first time trying this restaurant. Everyone really enjoyed the food, even my kids, who have become picky eaters and aren't used to Indian food. Our son (7yo) enjoyed the chicken fried rice. We ordered the tandoori salmon for our daughter (11yo), which she really enjoyed. She said the sauce (raita) was so good she wanted to drink it! My partner and I also ordered chicken vindaloo, chili lamb, and chicken 65. Everything was flavourful, and not too spicy. The butter naan was fluffy and disappeared almost immediately 😂 I was also amazed by the affordable prices. We will definitely be ordering again!“

“It was a very pleasant experience, the restaurant host was very nice, we ordered from the menu it was evening, thursday, outside was a little cold and so when we got in it was comfortable, the seating was pleasant, clean, nice, simple style, cozy little nice restaurant, I was with my Mother, the food was delicious, I ordered vegetarian thali the saag aloo and dal and pakora, yummy, naan is prepared and cooked good too and basmati also and the paneer and salad and I loved the little extra's, it made it so fun surprising and thrilling, I thank the host, my Mother and I, we appreciate this. The kulfi is yummy, the mango lassi is yummy. I will definitely be coming back, I took a print menu flyer on my way out to then study at home with my Mother what to try out next as I am partially disabled from tbi and a little slow, we spotted some things to try out next, I appreciate there is no beef, it is vegetarian and vegan friendly dishes, there is fish and shrimp dishes, lamb and poulet. Its a very nice place, its a great find in Montreal, I enjoyed coming here to eat with my Mother. “My go to Indian, hole in the wall. It used to be owned by the main restaurant on Jean Talon, but it’s been sold off…but the food recipes remained pretty much the same. Atmosphere is to be desired so take out is the best option if you live in the area. The service at counter is comparable. Manage your expectations for the price point and atmosphere. However, they have always been efficient and never rude or disrespectful. Just efficient and consistent which is pretty good. Butter chicken is the best option. But almost everything is good. Portion size has somewhat gone down over the years but it’s still a lot of food for a thali. Bonus small samosa is a plus. So if you want to no fuss affordable Indian place, this is a solid option.“

“This restaurant makes traditional Indian and Pakistani dishes that are ridiculously good. The cook is some sort of culinary genius. It’s like a parade of delicate flavours dancing through your mouth with every bite. I’ve gone a few times in the last couple of months, and my dinner partners have been equally wowed. The waitstaff are lovely too. My favourite dish is the Palak Paneer! I'm happy I found them.“

“We came to Montreal from the U.S. for a weekend getaway, and one thing was non-negotiable on our agenda—finding really good Indian food. After seeing this place highly recommended on social media, we decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did.

It's a small, unassuming spot, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for with heart. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like family. It's a family-run restaurant, and every single person made an effort to stop by our table and make sure everything was perfect. That kind of hospitality is rare and so appreciated.

We were greeted with a welcome drink, and honestly, I could have happily drunk an entire glass of the gol gappa water they served. It was that good.

The star of the meal was undoubtedly the Amritsari kulcha. One bite and I was transported straight back to the streets of Amritsar. Easily some of the best kulchas I've had outside of India. They were perfectly seasoned, not overloaded with spices, and had just the right amount of crunch. The channa that came alongside was excellent, and the imli and onion chutney was such a nostalgic touch. It's something I've only ever seen served properly in Amritsar, never here in North America.

We also ordered the chole bhature, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chole was prepared differently from the one served with the kulchas. Most places use the exact same preparation for both dishes, but not here. The bhature were light, fluffy, and not greasy at all.

The veg momos were another standout—thin wrappers, generous filling, and cooked perfectly. Simple, fresh, and delicious.

The paneer tikka was equally impressive. Soft, tender paneer marinated the traditional way and seasoned beautifully. One thing we noticed throughout the meal was that nothing was overly spicy or loaded with unnecessary seasoning. The flavours felt balanced and authentic, allowing each dish to shine on its own.

The food here doesn't just fill your stomach—it takes you back home. We loved it so much that before heading back to the U.S., we came back the very next day for lunch.

This place satisfied both our heart and our soul. If you're in Montreal and craving authentic Amritsari food made with care, this is an absolute must-visit.“
