“We went out for dinner last night with friends and had the best time! First, it had to be one of the best meals I have eaten out in a long time. Everything was delicious! From the scallops, the fois gras breakfast sandwich, steak frites, cod and the incredible sourdough bread and butter (ordered it twice), we savoured every bite. Then the dessert after was the cherry on top! I have to say thank you so much to Cece (sorry if I spelled it wrong), she made our night so relaxed and memorable. “We went there as part of the Montréal à table festival. The place is very friendly and the decor is exceptional. Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail. It feels like a restaurant car with a bar at the back of the restaurant which is worth the detour. Food wise, we were a little disappointed. It wasn't bad but little flavor so far from WOW. Given the price, it's a bit of a shame. But overall it's still a good experience. Top notch staff.“

“Lots of technique-driven dishes. Thoughtfully and masterfully prepared from start to finish! I wish I sat closer to the kitchen to watch the team put together each plate. Each bite is meticulously balanced. Each element made sense without losing any whimsical playfulness. None of the dishes struck me as "too precious." Thank you, Pastel! Restaurant was a bit loud because of the energy of the kitchen spilling over into the dining room. Positively speaking, it added to the experience, but it was hard to hear when each dish was introduced.“

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“We have been going to Greasy Spoon for 10 years and every time the food and service are amazing!! It is also our three teenagers’ fav place; to each their own taste!! Amazing tuna burger, cheese burger, juicy fried chicken burgers!! We have had bavette, ribs (pork and beef) , and roasted cornish hen before. We always get some calamari or salmon tartar with oysters as appetizers!! Their cocktails are loaded with alcoholl!! We always get the half-baked cookie with ice cream, and today we had the perfect cheesecake!!! Great job Angelo training all the waiters and waitresses; always making us feel special when we visit!

Vegetarian options: There is veggie burgers, seafood/fish, and salads.

Parking: Plenty meters street parking, free on weekend nights after 6pm

Kid-friendliness: My kids love the food ever since they were little. We have seen many kids ans teens eating there every time we visit.

“Randomly walked in this place and was surprised how good it is. Service is quick although the place was packed, We tried the special stingray and steak dishes, very tasty although the ray is a bit difficult to eat and doesn't have much meat. Focaccia bread was amazing. Menu changes often so the best is to take the tasting chef menu. Although it's very good, it feels overpriced for the simple seating and service.“
