“Dined at Persimmon last night. Still talking about it this morning.Perfect experience, from cocktails and appetizers at the bar to dinner and dessert. Even our bottle of Syrah was served at the correct temperature.Have always loved the building for its atmosphere and the upgrades made by the owners have done a wonderful job enhancing it.Friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. A true dining experience.Think we have a new favorite place.Parking: No more difficult to find then any other city.“

“This is not the kind of place that has trendy new food. This is the kind of place that has been running the same dishes for 20+ years and removed all unknowns from the equation.Amazing spot for filet mignon with gravy on top of French fries on top of mashed potatoes. That feeling you get from a poutine that hits just right, but instead of poutine it’s a mouth watering tender steak. This is your place.I had a bit of an issue with a clueless busser who pretended to understand what we were asking for and then proceeded to not do it. I also received my steak underdone despite asking for medium, so they had to put it in for longer which made some parts a little tough. So be mindful of that.Other dishes are good too, the calimari is local and amazing (big though), and a seafood pasta I don’t remember what it’s called. It’s not as ridiculously expensive as you might think. All in all, you can get a delicious date-night dinner for 2 with two entrees, two drinks, and a shared dessert for ~$100. Not bad at all.“

“So delicious. I got the maccheroncini with duck ragu and was skeptical since I don't really like kale all that much.. if that's what kale was always like it would be my favorite food lol. Interesting and creative desserts, fresh oysters, great service. Definitely a fabulous treat to come here.“

“Menu was excellent, enough choice whilst keeping it refined. Owner is the chef, and the food was very good. Can reccomend the maine crab spaghetti and the chocolate mousse pot.Had a late dinner here after ice skating. Despite being the last people in the restaurant, the staff were very polite and we didn't feel too rushed at the end of our meal. Thanks for a lovely meal, will reccomend to anyone visiting Procidence.“

“The professionalism and genuine warmth of the staff contribute significantly to the positive atmosphere at The Slow Rhode. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor make each visit feel like a special occasion. It's evident that they take pride in creating an environment where guests not only enjoy fantastic food, like the Morcilla Sausage with a smoked paprika hash, or the Mushroom Risotto, but also feel genuinely welcomed.“

“Everything about this place is enjoyable. The environment, the staff and food! I had the cod. Cooked to perfection. A pitcher of red sangria, also ridiculously good. We accidentally came on a night with entertainment. Awesome surprise. Apparently every Friday. So we will definitely be back again, and again!“

“Troop has become a staple brunch choice for me. First visit was great, and every visit thereafter has not lacked. Employees remember my face and maybe next time I won’t have to order a Bloody Mary (which is amazing!)they will already know. Comfortable brunch vibes! I can’t wait to fit in for some of their monthly events!“

“MY NEW FAV SPOT!!!!!!! Hands down! The customer service was top tier. I ate every single drop of food in my plate. Tore it UP! The shrimp was so delicious, perfect blend of garlic & spice. The chicken?!?! Oh my God. Perfect texture & flavor. The mac n cheese & the corn was also so so good. Everything on my plate was 1000/10! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS JOINT, try them out!“

“I go here all the time, the food is always great and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I didn't realize they cater, and recently had them cater my company holiday party. As expected the food was great and everyone that came to the party asked where I got it from. You won't be disappointed!“

“After attending church in Providence on Sunday, my friends and I chose to have brunch at Rouge Island Local Kitchen & Bar!Parking near Weybosset St always proves challenging, and even though we called ahead for reservations, we were informed that we still had to endure a 40-minute wait. Eager to indulge in our meals, we settled into the cozy yet slightly warm dining room.Taking 15 minutes to peruse the menu, I selected the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Sticks. Despite their appealing appearance, I found the texture and flavor disappointing, sensing the batter was undercooked. Conversely, my friend enjoyed them, praising their hearty feel & excellent cinnamon crunch exterior, rating them 4 out of 10.The absolute highlight of my meal was "The Bear" breakfast sandwich, priced at $23. It featured Beer Braised Short Rib Shredded Beef, Giardiniera Aioli, Cabot Creamery Sharp Cheddar, Roasted Garlic, Arugula, Fried Shallots, and a Sunny Side Egg on a Griddled Sesame Seed Bun. I opted for an over-easy egg and homefries. My brother & I both got this thing of beauty. We gave it an impressive 8.8 outta 10 for its fantastic flavors!Other friends tried the Crispy Chicken & Waffle, appreciating the crispy, meaty chicken but finding it lacking in flavor. The waffle, though well-cooked, was deemed average, with the fresh berries being the highlight. They rated it 6.1 out of 10 and expressed a desire to explore different menu items next time. One friend ventured into The Blondie French Toast from the specials menu, describing it as lackluster & mushy with an unexpected lemon taste. She mentioned that the flavors didn't complement each other well. Priced at $19 for two pieces, most of it remained on the plate, resulting in a unfortunate 3 outta 10 rating.I would like to extend special acknowledgment to our exceptional server, Ally, whose attentive service significantly enhanced our dining experience!Despite the mixed experience, our overall impression was positive, leaving us eager to return for more tasty and creative brunch offerings!FOLLOW ME ON Instagram @IGTYFOOD !!!“

“We tried something local and new and we were not disappointed!I had a bourbon burger (perfect), the hand made chips were great and fried curd with their sauce was outstanding. The Coup, I was told, was beyond expectations (that’s big coming from a person who doesn’t always compliment.)We will be back to try more.Support small business!!“

“2024: Oberlin was the most interesting menu. Most dishes are small & shareable. Many are cooked in their wood burning oven.On a recent visit, we shared the cheese plate, fried oysters and watercress salad. All of these were perfectly prepared and full of flavor.Entrees: wood roasted Nantucket bay scallops and pasta cacio e pepe. The pasta dish was the only disappointment of the evening with a weak, watery sauce.I love that they offer a half glass of beer - more places should do the sameLots of seating options in this new space - even an outdoor patio!Don't leave without checking out the best restrooms!“

“No need for a reservation. We ordered the Carnitas, chicken, and pork tacos all of them were very good. Pork burrito is huge, very flavorful. I had the Chicken Cesar salad comes with dressing on the side for your convenience shredded lettuce and small croutons which I love! Mexican fries with chicharron were amazing! Comes with crema, nacho cheese and avocado which is the perfect bite. I personally would add pico and jalapeños. Keep in mind if you ask for water it is a $5 bottle of still water. 15% gratuity automatically added but the service by Valeria was top tier. She was very friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive. Great service, great music, and $10 hookahs! Count me in!“

“Love it here! Right down the street from my house. They have excellent food and the best wings around hands down! Staff is always friendly and I had a conversation with the owner once and he was very enlightening on all the different nightly things that take place there. The bar is pretty big and does get packed quick on a weekend. Drinks are all reasonably priced and I love their Moscow mules, the girls work quick at making the drinks but they all taste the same which is important! The weekends usually always have bands and is a good time. Tables and chairs near the stage area and dance floor. One bathroom for woman and men (sometimes u may have to wait) the sink in the ladies room can be tricky but once u figure it out it's good. Parking in the back and on the side street, again it gets busy. It's just an all around nice little spot for a drink and food or just to enjoy some music or other weekly entertainment! Def recommend!“

“I absolutely love this spot. I definitely recommend getting their desserts, mouth watering for sure. The food overall is amazing, you can tell they make their food with love. As far as the service, it is amazing. The staff are so so sweet. I can't really speak on the physical atmosphere because I only get their food on door dash, but the emotional atmosphere is incredible! 10/10“

“We made a last minute late (9:15p on a Sunday night) reservation for my fiancé's birthday. Our waiter was so welcoming and wonderful - we didn't feel rushed at all. The food was amazing and my drink was delicious. Awesome experience! We'll definitely be back!“

“The mussels were so good and the broth was amazing!! But I wasn’t too impressed by the scallops. Also, the cheesecake was not very good; it tasted like dense, cold grocery store cheesecake, not the light and fluffy cheesecake I remember they used to have. It also felt like an expensive meal for what it was. I would come back though!“

“My friends and I ate breakfast here before our golf game at New England Country Club (Eaton's Pub was closed) after we learnt our tee time was 9:30am instead of 8:30am and we were looking for somewhere close by. I had the Veggie Omelet and it was delicious! I would certainly go back if I'm in town.“

“All you can drink mimosas for $16...you don't have to twist my arm. In all seriousness, however, the bartender was extremely attentive and prompt. Food was delicious and worth the value. Drinks kept coming. The vibe of the place was awesome. Went before the PC v. Georgetown basketball game; it was packed, but not so much that you couldn't move or get comfortable. Food: A+ Service: A+ Price: A+ Vibe: A+ Cleanliness: A+ Will return for future PC games. Go Friars!“

“Really a wonderful neighborhood place. Very comfortable to spend an enjoyable evening with friends, or alone at the bar. Very delicious food. The dishes are creative and the presentation always surprises. I do wish that more specials were offered to make the menu have more variety. That is the only reason for not giving it 5 star. The prices are reasonable and service friendly.. I really love this place and highly recommend it.“
