A massive portion of Cod in a batter so thin It looks like it was spray painted on.
It Is prepared with loving care and the highest of precision. Lightly fried and served steaming hot from the first bite to the last.
You will not be disappointed.
Accompanied with creamy tartar sauce, coleslaw and fries. You will not find this dish prepared any better than this anywhere else.
So if you have a twenty dollar bill burning a hole in your pocket, don't waste it on a scratch off ticket or a pack of smokes.

“This is probably the best place I have ever eaten. The food is magical and makes you wanting more. Ive been telling everyone about this place. The menu is diverse with something for everyone. This has been my new restaurant to take people to impress them. I’ve brought my whole family here. They were extremely impressed and they are a tough crowd to please….trust me. I’ve also had my whole office go out here one night and they were blown away. My friends from out of town told me that next time they come this is the first place we are going. “all I can say is WOW! Im not easily impressed by any restaurant. Main Sail Kitchen blew me away! The mussels were the best I've ever had. I could eat them every day of my life (order extra bread to soak up the delicious sauce) thr shrimp is poached well and is the size of a lobster tail. I ordered a caprese sandwich but I have no idea how ill eat it! Deanna was my server and her recommendations were so on point. what a great addition to Main st eg!“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“I came here for taco Tuesday and the food was very good. I wasn't impressed at all with the service. Upon arriving , there was no host to greet even though there was a sign that said wait to be seated. Once the bartender took notice she seated us. Our service was very slow.
We sat outside, where there is plenty of bar and table seating along with indoor seating. I will come again but service needs improvement.“

“Ordered the Juevos Rancheros. The sauce was EXCELLENT, the cotija cheese was EXCELLENT, the beans were EXCELLENT, and the corn tortillas were the BEST Ive ever had! Pretty sure they were homemade. The only issue I had was the tortillas were on a side dish where Im used to having the eggs, beans, sauce etc on top of the tortillas! Still excellent!
Also came with plantains which were very good, Im just not the biggest fan of them.“

“Food is great. Full disclosure. My band plays there regularly. Even though we live 30 minutes away, we order ribs and burgers there when we want take-out. They definitely earned their awards and we get exactly what is expected on an order.“

“Delicious food and genuinely great service! I ordered two Walt Jrs., and both were incredibly tender—melt-in-your-mouth good. I also got fries that looked fresh and delicious, but honestly, the sandwiches were so good that I completely forgot I had fries and never even touched them.

The service was just as impressive. The cashier greeted me as soon as I walked in and was quick and friendly taking my order. I could see the kitchen staff start making it almost immediately. There were two or three people working in the kitchen and, since there weren’t other orders at the time, they all jumped in together to get mine completed. That may seem like a small thing, but as someone who works in food service, I notice it. It shows good training and a team that is paying attention to the guest in front of them.

I do want to mention one issue, mainly because I hope it reaches whoever is responsible for the building itself. There was a very strong and unpleasant smell inside the restaurant. I normally use the drive-thru, so this was my first time actually going inside, and the odor was strong enough that I noticed it immediately.

I saw another review mention a sewer-like smell, but that wasn’t what it smelled like to me. I honestly couldn’t identify it—it reminded me more of damp or deteriorating wood/building materials than anything coming from the restaurant itself. I even looked around before ordering because the smell initially made me concerned about cleanliness, but the restaurant, kitchen area, and equipment that I could see all appeared clean and well maintained.

That’s why I don’t think it’s fair to hold the Walt’s staff responsible for it. I’ve worked in businesses where the tenant had building or property issues that were ultimately the landlord/property owner’s responsibility, and this struck me as something along those lines. I’m mentioning it because the odor is strong enough that I think it deserves attention and could definitely affect a customer’s first impression of the restaurant.

Most importantly, I’m glad I stayed and ordered. The food was excellent, the staff was great, and I had absolutely no issues with my meal afterward. In fact, I’m planning to go back today—I’ll just be using the drive-thru this time!
