“Some of the best food in Jamestown! I love to cook, and I cook A LOT. Angel's is an angel on those nights I am exhausted or just burnt out and don't want to make dinner. My husband and I order takeout from them a few times a month, and would definitely order a lot more often if they were open 7 days a week. My favorite hands down is the Caesar Salad with salmon. Salmon always cooked perfectly with a crispy crust, dressing (on the side) is creamy and delicious. House made croutons add the perfect crunch. Portions are so generous, I have plenty for lunch the next day. My husband usually orders either the chicken milanese, chicken marsala or chicken piccata and all of them are yummy as well. Highly recommend for take out, but order early as they get really busy. The secret is out.“

“The dinner here was excellent, definitely a little on the pricey side but well worth it for the quality dinners we received. We loved the oysters, and our tuna/filet mignon was delicious. Dessert and the fries were also excellent. It was really nice having a seat where we could see the wharf, added to the experience. This is priced like a high-end steak house and does not disappoint. We would definitely recommend it.“

“I don’t feel that any restaurant can ever be 100% in any given category. I feel that my experience last night at Thames Street kitchen, incidentally, my first visit there in several years, checked a lot of boxes. The drinks were absolutely delicious, the new takes on traditional menu items was refreshing as always, and we had a very good server. I’m very happy to see that the owners Remain loyal to their locavore point of view, but at the same time have positioned the restaurant as a steakhouse concept in a town that is sorely lacking exactly that (The last thing Newport needed Was another Italian restaurant so I’m happy to see That a leopard can still change its spots once in a while. While menu items like the Halibut porterhouse or Mission Cut Ribeye had me scratching my head, The variety of the menu Was inventive and the ample side dishes were a great complement to the meal. Our server was quite attentive and helped us over a couple of minor road bumps but overall I can say with confidence that we will return.“

“The Chop House Grill has been our go-to place every week for years. We went again tonight and sat at the bar to eat and interact with James Tsai, our favorite bartender and server. He is a true expert at his job, and is frequently observed training new waitstaff. He gave us perfect service as always. A newer member of the staff is Max, whom we also enjoy dealing with. Both are ideal representatives of the Chop House Grill. Kudos! I wish that we could give 10 stars to "the Chop" and these amazing people.“

“Dinner with the girls tonight at the Mariner Grille in Narragansett! Of course we had drinks and appetizers, then came dinner. There was no room for anything else!! Our server was great and available to us. The place is decent sized, and there was a separate space with a bar area. We got Thai calamari and coconut shrimp. Both were very good; the calamari was super tender and not chewy. The coconut shrimp was good, too, but I felt it was a bit over fried. The drinks were just as tasty. One friend had the mussels appetizer for her meal- it was huge! Another friend had sea scallops and chose lemon basil risotto and french fries as her sides. I had a lobster roll with a ton of hand cut fries. It was a cold lobster roll, and it was delicious! The roll was perfectly toasted. It was very busy, and I would say you definitely need reservations on the weekends. There are a couple other restaurants in the plaza , so parking could be tricky even though it's a pretty big lot. There were drinks specials and dinner specials, along with the regular menu. Definitely worth a try!!“

“Stopped in on a busy night, the food was great, and the beer selection was very good. The bar staff were a bit overwhelmed, but if you have read my other reviews, I don't often consider this a big problem if the place is super busy. They got us our drinks as quickly as they could, and we were on our way to good food and good drinks. Definitely would stop by anytime I'm in town.“

“Had lunch with family. Ordered burgers as part of the Newport, RI Burger Bender. Burger was cooked perfectly and was on point. Jalapeño aioli was killer. Really enjoyed. Staff were very accommodating. My mother-in-law has difficulty with stairs. The staff happily directed us to park behind the hotel to avoid stairs. They had a parking attendant meet us and escort us to the restaurant. Very nice indeed. Lunch time was pretty quiet compared to the hustle and bussle of downtown Newport. Was nice and quiet. Very relaxing for us seniors wanting a quiet relaxing place to dine for lunch.“

“This was our first time here and we were on a babymoon, so it felt very special to dine out. The staff was incredibly friendly, all working together to make sure everyone was taken care of in the dining room. We sat in the conservatory which was gorgeous. Every dish was seasonal, highlighting spring veggies and it was great to have a lighter, healthier meal after the heavier fried seafood etc we ate during the day. Wonderful experience beginning to end.“

“My girlfriends and I went to Newport for the night and ended up at this restaurant 3 times in the day. First we went for lunch and it was delicious. Then we heard they have great espresso martinis and went back around 4pm. Then at night we were walking by and they have live music and we stopped in again. Love the food, the music and the vibe. Also, can't forget the leopard rugs! I'm a foodie and I would recommend!“

The Helmway American • $$$
425 E Main Rd, Middletown - 4.71 miles

“Friendly service in a fresh, modern space. Entrees are a bit pricey for the size of the dishes, but each bit of my pork chop was delicious. Steak seemed like it was refired after being sliced - maybe it came off too pink or timing was off? Not sure! Really tasty gin martini, absolutely would recommend! Beer list was inaccurate - three IPAs listed but only one was available. Also, it never makes sense to me when local beer served on draft is more expensive than its canned counterpart, particularly when it's something like a brewery's flagship recipe or an easy pale ale. Am excited to see this restaurant's team get some more water under the keel and really come together - I'll be back!“
