Staff is friendly and efficient, and even if I’m coming from a distance, they always have accommodated my request to delay the start of my order so it’s always just out of the oven when I get there. “We enjoyed having breakfast at this wonderful place while in Newport, RI. The people who own it and those who work there are AMAZING, friendly, and take the time to talk to customers while keeping service at the top of their list. They (from the kitchen to the front door) look like they love working there and have created a loving family environment. Of course, the line was out the door and down the street, but that was okay because everyone enjoyed visiting each other. There is just one warning, the portions are enormous. You know when my husband can't finish it, it's a lot. 🤣“

Absolutely outstanding! I just had the most amazing BLT with coconut bacon at ROOT on Broadway in Newport — pure amazeballs. They never disappoint! The flavors were incredible, the coconut bacon was a total game-changer, and the vibe is always spot-on. I also grabbed some chocolate chip cookies for dessert and they were heavenly. If you’re in Newport and craving something delicious, creative, and plant-based, ROOT is the spot. Can’t wait to go back!“

“We were vacationing in Newport from Wisconsin and stopped in at Cappy’s. Sue the bartender was friendly and a wonderful bartender. The owner Joe, what can I say….what a guy! Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! We chose The Spruce Car, (as opposed to the murder mystery) which is aptly named, as it's filled with rich, warm woods. The cozy lighting & up-scale, but not pretentious, decor created the perfect ambiance for a romantic birthday. Dinner service was nothing short of wonderful. Our server, Maddie, was friendly, beautiful, and attentive. Both of our dinners were delicious and the cocktails were perfect. More locals should enjoy the Bellevue Grand. It's worth every penny.“

“We came into town for lunch and it was perfect. The mussels were plump and seasoned very well with the broth. The broth wasn’t gritty at all but like garlicky silk. Tater tots were seasoned and delicious. My husband had the pastrami sandwich and said it’s the best he’s had which is saying a lot because he’s had Katz Deli in NYC. Service was warm and attentive. Definitely recommend.“

Jasmine green tea was pretty good (7/10) We really liked the decaf coffee (9/10) what a treat. The regular coffee was not noteworthy, but fine. Nitro’s is much better. Great breakfast sandwich, grab and go ready!“

“We’ve had a couple meals at the Helmway and they were delicious! The calamari is crispy and done just right, the harvest salad is excellent! The scallops were done to perfection…sweet and tender. The lobster risotto is excellent too! We had the cinnamon toast bread pudding…just wow!! The wine selection is just right! We’ll definitely go back and highly recommend the Helmway!! I couldn’t find a place to give it stars, but I would definitely give it 5 out of 5!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

Of course It was busy (I went on a Saturday + Sunday) which I expected the food wasn't my favvv buttt I came just for the coffee tbh and IT DIDNT DISSAPOINT OMGGG! Go here and build your day around this coffee shop it's perfect.

This next point deserves mentioning as it speaks to the culture of the establishment: When my granddaughter became ill (NOT food related), the manager came over immediately to help comfort her… she brought hot tea and took her to more private quarters to relax until her discomfort passed. The stuffed haddock was INCREDIBLE. Comfort food level fish. Wish I had forgone the triple sec in the Passionfruit Marg, but the oysters, fish and dessert were all stellar. But none shone as bright as Ava. 9.5/10. Will be back as soon as I'm back in the state, and I'm sure my brother will be back with his family consistently.“
