“I took my wife there today for lunch for the first time. We made the 30-minute trek and we were not disappointed. I had Bluto's Chicken Sandwich and my wife had the Chickpea Wrap. OUTSTANDING! I would recommend to anyone looking for a good Vegan spot 👍“

“We had another wonderful meal at The Food Shack tonight. My dad and I shared the nachos which were superb and my daughter enjoyed her rice bowl. And don’t forget a side of plantains! Also they serve local beer now which is a bonus. You need to eat here!“

“Nice place. Theirs job is really coffee i belived :) You can see them roasting and packaging there. Prices are fair. It has a great coffee smell. There are tables inside and outside if you want to hang out. You can buy their own products and packaged coffees. I bought a latte, the coffee was really fresh. I think it has a few awards too. An enjoyable stop on the road :))“

“We’ve had a couple meals at the Helmway and they were delicious! The calamari is crispy and done just right, the harvest salad is excellent! The scallops were done to perfection…sweet and tender. The lobster risotto is excellent too! We had the cinnamon toast bread pudding…just wow!! The wine selection is just right! We’ll definitely go back and highly recommend the Helmway!! I couldn’t find a place to give it stars, but I would definitely give it 5 out of 5!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“We enjoyed having breakfast at this wonderful place while in Newport, RI. The people who own it and those who work there are AMAZING, friendly, and take the time to talk to customers while keeping service at the top of their list. They (from the kitchen to the front door) look like they love working there and have created a loving family environment. Of course, the line was out the door and down the street, but that was okay because everyone enjoyed visiting each other. There is just one warning, the portions are enormous. You know when my husband can't finish it, it's a lot. 🤣“

We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. The owner Paul is so nice and his staff is so friendly. I'm always greeted with a smile.

I especially love getting a juice from here after yoga around the corner, but from time to time I'll get a smoothie or the coconut bacon BLT. The BLT is just as good as real bacon, I think there's some kind of black magic involved in the recipe.

The atmosphere is nice, especially sitting out front and watching the people walk by. Very enjoyable on a nice sunny day.“

Ordering was easy, Steph ensured we had a great variety and enough to feed the post-wedding crowd. We did have breakfast here and it was stellar! “We just came by boat with two little kids not realizing the new fall hours. The employee working saw them peaking into the window and was so kind bringing them each out doughboy donuts. “We were vacationing in Newport from Wisconsin and stopped in at Cappy’s. Sue the bartender was friendly and a wonderful bartender. The owner Joe, what can I say….what a guy! Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! “An impressive new(ish) facility in an unassuming location, especially because we live nearby and never noticed the place until they put a big new sign out on the road. Bright, modern, and clean. Inside is a bit fancier than expected, in a good way, compared to the back outdoor patio and lounge area, which is really nice in its own right. Just a good vibe all around and good folk working there. On a warm day, the outdoor bar and cornhole can’t be beat. Selection is solid, as they’ve updated their beer offerings to keep up with the hazy IPA trend. They could use some food trucks or something to eat, especially on the weekends, as they only sell beverages.

Update for October 2024 now that Wally’s has officially moved in to sell their delicious food right out of the kitchen! Trivia Thursdays are fun and the food is great, ranging from dogs to fried chicken to burgers. Had a couple tasty lagers, as well. Good to see their lager game is strong.“

Jasmine green tea was pretty good (7/10) We really liked the decaf coffee (9/10) what a treat. The regular coffee was not noteworthy, but fine. Nitro’s is much better. Great breakfast sandwich, grab and go ready!“
