“It was delicious. The food was really good and the atmosphere was so comfortable. Our bartender Rowen was on top of it. The kitchen went out of their way to make our experience the best. Oooh and the tiramisu was so yummy. Thank you all for a wonderful meal.“

“5 stars all around! This place is delicious! Off-season, Wednesday night October, and it was packed. Despite the crowd, our server was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended daily oyster selection and the clam chowder. I enjoyed the featured halibut…. Not sure how often that makes the menu, but if you see it, try it! And save room for the snowball from hell. It’s worth it! Met the GM who graciously gave us a tour and treated us like celebrities. I wish we had more time here… I’d eat here everyday!“

“We were vacationing in Newport from Wisconsin and stopped in at Cappy’s. Sue the bartender was friendly and a wonderful bartender. The owner Joe, what can I say….what a guy! Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! “After reading these comments, I just had to chime in.

First off, if you are a sailor, this is your home away from home. You’ll meet other sailors with fantastic stories.

Secondly, if you are not use to the ball busting style of a RI bar tender, don’t come here. You won’t understand. (Hence the reviews from “out of towners.”). But, if you have a backbone and a respectful, yet smart mouth, you will be right at home.

We are slim athletic people and we barely had enough room even to open our menus!! We have been coming to the West Deck for 30 years and always had great meals. Reggie was very accommodating for reservations and fun to talk with!!“

“Ruben was made with thick corned beef, spicy chicken sandwich was very good, but the seafood burger was mostly filler.....2 tiny pieces of shrimp, and one tiny piece of scallop was identified. The hot apple pie drink was delicious. Service was good“

Marina was clean dock hands were quick with line handling Nice bar to listen to live music either at bar or on boat. Dog friendly marina too. We will definitely be back.“

“I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and it was really good! Our waitress was attentive and kind. The prices aren’t too bad for the area so I’d definitely come here for a good lunch :) and I was jammin to the music so 10/10 just for whoever had the aux cord!“

“They were able to accommodate me on a busy weekend, even let me choose my seat even though I was alone and they had people continuing to arrive. The hostess and waitress were friendly, the food was delicious (pesto shrimp pizza), the view was nice as it's right on the water, and I chose a table that allowed me to see it properly. The band I was particularly happy about- I thought they were fantastic- they played early rock n roll, and I wish I asked their name.

It's a really relaxed atmosphere, not fancy, think old patio furniture. My table was not steady and rocked when you moved, the chairs were plastic, but I didn't mind. If you want a good meal on the water and are not picky about that, I'd recommend this place.
