“My husband and I were visiting Providence for a wedding and stayed at the Hampton across the street. This place caught our eye, and we are so thankful it did. Not only did we come here for lunch, where I got fettuccine with marinara and my husband got a Philly Cheesesteak, we ordered 2 pizzas later that night when our friends showed up because we loved them so much. The in-person service was immaculate, and the takeout service was amazing. Super polite employees and a great atmosphere. I'm almost sad I don't live in Providence because I can't eat here more often.“

“Just came from Palmer River Grille, it's very nice inside and the food was excellent. My wife had a small issue with her meal (no need for details), the managers took care of it no problem, which they don't have to do, so I want to take this opportunity to thank them. Our waiter Derek was awesome! Just want to acknowledge everyone there, the wait staff etc. are very friendly, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and their food. I would recommend them to anyone and for sure we will be back. Thank you!“

“A girlfriend and I tried Honeybird when it had opened. Small but beautifully modern. We tried the fried green tomatoes, the pierogis and the hot chicken boa buns. All were very tasty, juicy and flavorful. We sat at the bar and had adequate services, they weren't neglectful nor overbearing just not as personable as I'm used to while sitting at a bar. Overall we enjoyed our time there.

Since then I have been back twice and it has been consistent and delicious.“

“We went for dinner for a weeknight in early September. Reservations were available on short notice and missed the college parent crowds. First time here after hearing about it for a number of years.

We shared a couple of appetizers and really enjoyed the cheese/charcuterie board and calamari. Calamari was crispy and sauces were delicate. Cheese board was also delicious and we liked that we could mix and match. Not many places offer pate, so we enjoyed having that as an option.

The gnudi dish was the best of the evening. They’re something between a small dumpling and gnocchi, and were so incredibly tender! Sauce was very delicious and we highly recommend trying this dish.

Entrees were okay, but not amazing. They’re known for their burger but I found it lackluster. Saddest part was the French fries were soft and tasteless. Burger meat was drier than it should be; likely too much fat rendered off during cooking. Bun had no integrity and didn’t hold up to the burger.

Pork loin was good, but serving size was extremely small for an entree. There were only 3 slices of pork on the dish.

Desserts were simple and well-executed, but not a highlight.

Atmosphere can be very nice if not too loud. Great place for a date, grabbing light fare, or having a drink at the bar.“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“I just ordered take out for the first time from Mac & Walt’s and WOW! It was so good. I have been craving a burger and searched “best burger near me”. Thankfully, Mac & Walt’s was first on the list! After browsing the menu, I settled on the Crispy Jam burger and onion rings. My fiancé built his own burger with an egg, pepper-jack and steak sauce along with sweet potato fries. We shared a cornbread. Our order definitely satisfied my craving and now I can’t wait to come back for more!“

“I had a wonderful experience at Nick’s last night. Brought my dad there for his birthday on a reservation I had made the night before. We were running ahead of schedule so called to see if they could take us early and they were SO accommodating! Also, I had mentioned (very much in passing) when I made the rez that it was my dad’s bday. I definitely didn’t make a big deal about it. And shortly after we sat down, our server (maybe she was the manager/owner?) brought over 2 glasses of Prosecco and wished him a happy birthday!!! What an amazing and thoughtful touch! The food was amazing as usual (I love nicks!) and when asked, our server knew where all the ingredients came from (almost all local!) and even turned me on to a new delicious tequila (also from a local family!). “The 99 is already one of my go to restaurants. This specific one was one of the first places I went to with the now love of my life. But I just want to thank the friendliest (I believe she was a cook) who worked at this specific location (North Attleboro, MA) who had an accent (that’s all I know about her, I wish I got her name) I had to take my baby into the restroom for a diaper change and while I was in there I discovered that an old baby food pouch exploded in the bottom of the diaper bag and covered all of our diapers. My son was all over the place trying to crawl off the counter where I made him sit so I could clean out the bag and throw out all of the rotten apple covered diapers 😭 and I was a mess until this wonderful lady who appeared to be a cook there walked in and offered to hold him for me and just held him there next to me, entertaining him in the mirror, talking to him until my mother in law walked in to check on us. Just wanted to recognize her kindness and make it known how thoughtful she was. “I’ve been there, I know how jt is” she said and in that moment I felt a bit of relief knowing that as a mom we are not alone.“

Almost seemed like they were using the pickled banana peppers as the base. Tie that with cilantro and a few other items and you have a real winner here.The sauce on the Shrimp had a similar flare to it, but tomato based (or just mixed in).So think about this a minute. You have a sauce with some pickle flavor. You add salt to your liking (I added a lot) and you have a very interesting flavor for the fries! Genius!The Chicken Dinner was an outside the box way for me to go surf and turf. The seasoning had explosive flavor. Just wonderful!I can't wait to go back for the Salmon!“

“TRAFFORDS TESTIMONIAL Perhaps once in a lifetime you find someplace really special for you and your spouse. Seven years ago we went to Trafford’s for the first time. What we remember about it was how it made us feel. Both of us work hard in our professions and to go out to dinner and find wonderful food, excellent and attentive wait staff, and relaxed environment simply made our day. We then came every month at least once mostly twice to enjoy the excellence and serenity at Trafford. Sadly we lost this when the fire occurred for several years. Then absolute joy when Trafford’s reopened and we found the same wonderful food, wonderful staff in a simply beautiful rebuilt building. The joy we felt and the absolute calm and serenity is all back for us. Recently we celebrated my 76th birthday at Trafford with my entire family. It was amazingly special for me and we had our special event upstairs with the entire place devoted to us . Chrissy our server did an awe inspiring service for us making it perhaps one of the most special birthdays I have ever had I have attached a picture of this special moment. I work in the computer software business doing quality assurance 10 hours every day. Being able to calm down and relax completely at Trafford’s is simply a joy for us.
