“We had a small gathering this weekend and had Maggioni Oyster Company cater the oysters. It was outstanding! Jeff and team provided excellent service! The oysters were cooked perfectly and they were delicious. There was never a gap in serving fresh oysters from the steamer and they were all easy to open! Their set up and tear down was seamless. I highly recommend Maggioni Oyster Company for your next gathering! As a side note, if you just want a few fresh and delicious oysters on the half shell, you can find Jeff shucking them, with a smile, at the Port Royal Farmers Market of Saturday mornings! A second side note….if you want great live music with your party, look no further than The Jeff Beasley Band…..he is a master of both trades!“

“Don't miss out on this local gem outside Beaufort on the way to Hunting Island! Gullah Grub Restaurant features low country cooking at its finest prepared in the traditions of the Gullah people living along Atlantic coastal regions. The building is super charming and filled with articles, photographs, and artwork related to the owners, Bill & Sara Green, and their mission to serve locally sourced organic foods. Bill was actually there and prepared our meals. I tried the chicken gumbo with a side of rice - she got the BBQ chicken lunch with potato salad and an extra side of mac-n-cheese. Of all these items, my favorite, by far, was the chicken gumbo - super thick and flavorful with a hint of smokiness - EXCELLENT! I mixed the rice with it and it was perfection. Next time I'll try the shrimp gumbo. My second favorite item was the potato salad - seriously, the best I've ever had. Drinks were very good (I preferred the lemonade over the sweet tea). Corn bread is complimentary at the start - very tasty! We had room for a little dessert, so we asked our server for her recommendation - sweet potato pie or peach cobbler. The pie was her favorite, and it did not disappoint! We really felt like family in this restaurant, and the food was great. You must try this place if you're in the Beaufort area!“
