“This place was the perfect choice! Chelsea our server was so friendly and helpful we couldn't have asked for better!!!Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. We ordered the camp basket. Everything was was fresh, but I was surprised by how good the fried oysters were. I typically don't really care for them as they can be a bit hit or miss, but these were great. The key lime pie was off the charts delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By far the best we've ever had!!“
“This restaurant is so cool. We sat outside and there were heaters to warm you up and such a beautiful view of the river. Unfortunately I forgot my phone so no pics this time. I'll definitely return and take pics of the food. I had the chicken nachos. The chicken was seasoned nicely and some of the best queso I've had. My only complaint was there were no other toppings besides the chicken and cheese. Next time I'll ask for some onions or salsa. Maybe they just forget to put on the other toppings. My hubby had the fish and grits, which is the main reason for 5 stars. The fish of the day was freshly caught wahoo from a fishing tournament. It was grilled to perfection and seasoned to enhance the sweet yet meaty flavor of the fish. This is my first time trying wahoo and if it always tastes this good then I am now a superfan! My son had the burger and it must've tasted good cause there was nothing left on his plate. Our friends had fried okra, tacos, and a salad. Also the onion rings were good too. We will definitely be back!“
“We had a family occasion to visit Madison's a few weeks ago with a party of six. We had reservations and the meal had been planned for a while. When the food arrived, we (most of us) were astonished at the small size of a combination platter. I personally had scallops and flounder. I had two TINY strips of flounder, not even the size of a frozen fish stick. What a disappointment. The scallops were also 'marble' size. The price of the meal, with an adult beverage, was over 70.00. The cost nowhere represented what the meal should have been. One of our couples asked if the combination platter was enough to split. The server's answer was "they could eat one of them by themselves." This should have been our warning. Very disappointed in the meal. I have had appetizers larger the two tiny slices of flounder. We return to Beaufort on occasions, as family lives there, but we will NOT return to Madison's.“
“Very very busy but lots of parking. We got in after 3 so had to eat on the patio. Inside closed between 3 and 5. Still very busy. Our server was fantastic. He was attentive, funny and knew the menu. Our Fish and chips were large portions. Halibut was flakey and fresh. Shrimp and grits were good. Shrimp was cooked well not too spicy and grits were smooth. Red rice and sausage were tasty. It can be very sunny and hot on the patio.“
“Love the water front dining experience here. You'd think with Hilton Head being an island that there might be more chances to have that but there are not. We enjoy the dinners here but the long wait can sometimes damper the experience especially with small children, so come early. The food is always good but nothing had ever jumped off the plate as spectacular or amazing. Again the service is always good but with the large crowds and volume of business sometimes the attention to detail for personalized service goes unnoticed. However there's never been anything that would prevent us from coming back and we look forward to our next visit to give it another try.“
“This was my 2nd visit, and the seafood has been delicious each time! The seafood boil and salmon were both very good. The portions are just right (enough for leftovers), and the prices are affordable. This restaurant has a charming ambiance, and we loved the waterfront view from our table! The staff was good.“
“This is a nice place on the non-water side of Bay Street. While the menu looked amazing, it didn’t taste quite as amazing as we had anticipated and as other reviews stated. The shrimp tacos were overpowered with Cole slaw, for example. We also could barely taste the bacon in the queso. However the service was friendly. On the plus side, a single taco comes with two tortillas and had enough toppings for two tacos“
“Banh mi pork belly sandwich was out of this world!!! Menu has quite a variety extending far beyond a what you'd think of at a typical raw bar, so I need to explore some of their other offerings. Outstanding food and just a really nice overall experience. Well worth a visit!Update: I've been back for lunch several times. Lobster Roll and Tuna Melt are also amazing! Other dishes I see come out of the kitchen also look very tempting. As a foodie, I'm definitely a fan of this place!“
“Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere! Our server Dave was wonderful- thank you! Highly recommend the shrimp and calamari, she crab soup, and fried chicken if you are feeling some comfort food. Portions are great, fantastic and friendly wait staff. Beautiful location on the water, we so much enjoyed our experience!“
“We loved this place! We made a reservation ahead of time, then the two of us went with our toddler. It was very kid-friendly and had a kids' menu with lots of great options (my guy LOVED his alfredo pasta). The drinks were spectacular – beautifully made and unique! Kudos to the bartender. We shared the she crab soup and the coconut shrimp as appetizers, both of which were impeccable. I got the Margherita flatbread (yum!) and my husband got a basket with shrimp, flounder, and crab cakes. Everything was delicious. The view of the water was excellent and the environment was lovely. I highly recommend Morgan River Grill!Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly. Great kids menu, not at all stuffy, and a playground right outside the restaurant.“
“Food was good but disappointing that they had only 2servings of baby back ribs that night, and couple before us had already gotten them. It was a Wednesday night and not many people. First time there. I guess I'd try them on a weekend and hope they had more available.“
“Excellent food, excellent presentation and our server Lilly was very attentive, professional friendly and did an amazing job carrying the BEST kettle One dirty martini filled to the brim from the bar to our table without spilling a drop - That is skill!“
“Awesome food, outstanding above and beyond service. Blew my families minds! Costs more than McDonald's or whatever but I'd pay twice as much for half the flavor! Get the beans, the corn muffins, the pulled pork, the seasoned fries, the shrimp, all of it! Very personable staff!“
“My daughter and I toured the downtown historic district and stopped in for lunch. Absolutely delicious!! The panini crust is freshly made. I can’t say enough how delicious the food was. I would travel back just for a meal!! And if you sit on the patio you can enjoy the beautiful sunshine and ocean “
“Gilligan's is a traditional - some would say old-fashioned – seafood restaurant. But this is what we were interested in as we visited Beaufort, and we were not disappointed. Our fried seafood was tasty, crisp, and well-prepared. The light salad and fried okra we ordered were fresh too. Our young server was attentive and had perfect timing. We were served in a timely fashion and our meal was fresh from the kitchen and hot. We think this restaurant is underrated in its reviews.“
“Was looking for a place to grab lunch on our way back from hunting Island beach. Found this place, and I am glad we did! Great little place with great food! I had the taco's special for the day, which was a fried oyster, fried shrimp, and fried flounder taco's. They were absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend anyone passing by this place to stop in!“
“Adorable cozy place with attentive staff and great food. I'm gluten-free, and the chef was very accommodating. I had the French (onion) chicken. They even had a gf bread basket! Very rare.Attentive and informed wait staff. Parking out front. Pricing is the only downside, and it is on the high side,Highly recommend.“
