12 Best American Restaurants near Walland

Blackberry Mountain Firetower Restaurant American •
Three Sisters RD, Walland

“This was our 2nd time at BM and it did not disappoint. Our favorite activity was making baskets with Annie, who was a great teacher. We also enjoyed wine & cheese tasting with Cara (so knowledgeable), whiskey tasting with Callum (relayed fascinating stories & made the history interesting), and mixology with Kendal (so down to earth & personalized it for us since it was just the 2 of us). We ate at Three Sisters 3 nights and the Firetower once and the rotating menu items keep you from getting the same thing twice. We tried the Valley pool once, but if you didn't bring your own kids, you'll want to stick to the Lodge pool which has an amazing view and is quieter and with great service by Nate. Shout-outs also to RJ, Zane, Bryson, and Dwayne for making us feel at home. The only negatives were that the pillows are a bit flat and the mattresses are soft so we both had backaches the first couple of mornings, and the charges for the activities end up being more than listed by $50-150 for some reason (taxes or service charges I assume, TBH we didn't ask). Important to know, but you understand when you book here that you're going to spend big bucks, and we found that the service and the mountain experience were worth it.“

“After reading their reviews, we decided to try the Snoring Bear Diner for lunch. We were not disappointed! We sat outside, the servers were pleasant and attentive, and the food great. No complaints about the bistro burger, chicken Philly, or Hawaiian tacos. Even the fried okra was yummy. I brought a piece of the lemon blueberry cheesecake home. The piece is huge! I'll be enjoying it for days! The Snoring Bear is a great find!“

Dancing Bear Lodge Townsend American • $$$

“If you’re searching for a place to stay around the Smokey Mountains, you’ve found the best place- Dancing Bear! My Husband and I stayed at Dancing Bear in Townsend for our honeymoon and it was the best experience we’ve had. The cabin was clean, easy to get to, quiet, and absolutely beautiful. They offered complimentary bikes to take on trails and had a very nice hot tub on the porch that was so peaceful. The town of Townsend can still accommodate your travel needs with the Cades Cove winery, coffee shops, beautiful trails to hike, and cute shops but it is crowded with crazy traffic. If I could give our whole Townsend experience more stars, I would! The bistro was also hands down the best food we’ve had in our trip! The chicken is the best chicken I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend Dancing Bear and the bistro enough!“

“Took my husband here for dinner for the first time yesterday and he LOVED it! I've had take out here before and never been disappointed so we had a spontaneous dinner date last night and I knew he'd love it as well. Staff is so kind and friendly. Emma was our waitress and projected true southern charm, which we love. My hubby had the pot roast dinner and said it was amazing. I'm a salad girl, which I love their Caesar, and a side of their sweet potato casserole which is the best I've ever had (including homemade from grandma! Shh!). If you've never been here it's a must to give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Staff is awesome!“

“This place is not the same place I visited years ago. I love that we stopped in here to discover a completely new restaurant. Service from Sadie M. started out great with getting our drinks and getting our order. The food came and OMG was it good. More food that we thought we were going to get. I was the only one to finish it all. I ordered a cat fish po'boy. It was made perfect with a butter grilled hoagie with so much stuff I could not close it. The wife ordered a burger that was huge. Mom got a shrimp and okra basket. Everyone was so very pleased. Something happened to our waitress Sadie but when the other waitresses noticed us looking around for her they kicked into gear and picked up the slack. Kudos to the staff for the excellent cover. We all look forward to trying more here.Parking: Limited spots in the front of the building, lots of parking in the back.“
