“Hidden Gem with the Best Breakfast Tacos in Town
Bellaire Coffee Shop has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. It’s the kind of place that feels familiar the moment you walk in—warm atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently great food.
Their breakfast tacos are on another level. Fresh, made-to-order, and packed with flavor. Whether you go with bacon and egg, chorizo, or the potato and cheese combo, you really can’t go wrong. The tortillas are always warm and soft, and they don’t skimp on the fillings. Add their house salsa, and it’s perfection.
Coffee’s solid too—smooth, rich, and always served hot. It’s the perfect pairing for a relaxed morning or a quick bite on the go.
Simple, reliable, and always satisfying. Bellaire Coffee Shop gets it right every time. Highly recommend it if you’re in the area and craving a good breakfast taco.“

“Dunkin' Donuts consistently delivers quick and satisfying coffee and snacks. The coffee is always fresh, and the donuts are delicious with a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Service is generally fast and friendly, even during busy hours. Occasionally, my order isn’t exactly right, but overall, it’s a reliable spot for a morning pick-me-up or a quick treat.
It's not the cleanest, but they seem to have a lot of foot traffic, so I guess this is to be expected (dirty floor mats upon entry )“

“I want to touch on their Toasted After Dark offering. My husband and I recently hosted my 40th birthday party there as their first Toasted After Dark event. It was incredible! I really wanted a brunch menu, and while their offerings online showed mostly lunch/dinner offerings they worked with me to come up with the perfect brunch centered buffet. Our party of almost 40 people raved about how delicious it was! This was just the start. The staff, headed by manager Robert, cleared out an area to make a dance floor for our silent disco event. The mimosa package which came with various flavors of mimosas and house wine and I think beer was plentiful and our friendly bartender kept the drinks flowing. They bent over backwards to make it the perfect night and I couldn’t have imagined it much better than it turned out! I highly recommend them as a fun and different venue with delicious food for your next event!“

They really know how to brew, the staff is knowledgable and friendly, and there's space to sit and chill no matter how full it is. I love how they have so many outlets for creatives that want to work. I need a blend In co-working space right now!“

“5⭐ Absolutely beautiful place. The place is clean and organized, the barista was very nice and knowledgeable. I got a delicious drink but they do not play with their matcha, it was very strong that I couldn't finish it. I will be back though because there was some other stuff I wanted to try.“

“Katz Coffee – The Brew That Gives Back! If you’re a coffee lover like me, prepare to have your taste buds elevated to a whole new level with Katz Coffee! I had the pleasure of taking a behind-the-scenes tour of their facility, and let me tell you – it was like walking through caffeine heaven. The aroma alone could make anyone swoon! 😍 But it’s not just about how delicious their coffee is (though, seriously, it's SO good I could probably run a marathon after a cup). What really impressed me was their heart. Katz Coffee isn’t just about brewing the perfect roast—they’re brewing positive change in the community. I was thrilled to learn they actively support Veterans with PTSD and other incredible causes. Their commitment to giving back is just as strong as their coffee game. So, if you love your cup of joe to come with a side of doing good, Katz Coffee is where it's at. Plus, who doesn’t want to start their day knowing their caffeine fix is making the world a little better? 10/10 would highly recommend – and will definitely be back for another cup (or two). ☕✨“

“Vietnamese coffee at its finest. Lots of options are offered beyond the traditional cafe sua da, including bac xiu which is essentially Vietnamese white coffee (more milk, less coffee). If you're not looking for coffee, they have many other options as well such as iced teas and lattes.
The shop itself is small and quaint with minimal seating, so it can be difficult to find a place to sit during peak hours. All of the staff are a delight and very welcoming.“

“I had such a lovely experience at Mood Cafe! They serve a delicious Turkish breakfast that was fresh, beautifully presented, and very satisfying. Everything from the simit to the cheeses, olives, and fresh fruit was full of flavor and felt authentic. I really liked the coffee also.
The atmosphere of the café is one of its best features. It’s quiet, cozy, and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a slow breakfast. If you sit toward the back, you can even enjoy a peaceful view of the lake, which adds a really nice touch to the whole experience.
It’s a small café, but that’s part of its charm—it feels warm, intimate, and not crowded. Overall, Mood Cafe is a hidden gem and a wonderful spot if you’re looking for a relaxing breakfast or brunch with a beautiful ambiance. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“I'm not sure anyone will be ready for the love I'm about to unload about Cambrian in this review.. so brace yourself and try to stay with me. If you can't make it through the full review definitely scroll down and at least read the part about the sandwich cookies! For your own benefit. ;) I try to wait and visit a place at least a few times before writing a review to be sure that the experience I had is consistent. I can now proclaim that I am like a Cambrian *regular* to put it lightly so what I'm going to include here is the ultimate truth. --The people here rock. ROCK! I know that when looking for a coffee shop its not always about the people but sometimes about the.. coffee? But, if you can get killer coffee served to you via ultra friendly humans.. it really takes it to the next level. My favorite coffee item for the summer is the Cambrian Iced Latte with Oatmilk (flavor is like honey and cinnamon). In winter I get the same thing but hot, or the vanilla syrup. They have way more hard core stuff and slow pours and all that but this is just me. --People go crazy for their sausage rolls. I can't really comment on these personally because I'm not really into meat but my husband, brother and basically everyone I've ever gotten one for (and apparently everyone on the internet) absolutely love them. --I CAN personally attest to the deliciousness of the samosas. So, so bomb. Flaky and well seasoned. The perfect savory baked good! --They have these cool little blue coins to "coffee forward". You buy them and give them to someone so they can come in for a free coffee item. People at the post office totally know about them now and I love to give them out around town! You can even buy them to have them apply to people who come in throughout the day! --There's other stuff like coffee roaster rotations, homemade vanilla syrup, delicious breakfast loaves, clean bathrooms and cool art. They also know how to properly serve tea! --THE SANDWICH COOKIES. I'm trying to keep this clean but I really wanted to say THE *FKN* SANDWICH COOKIES bc I need to emphasize how truly amazing and life altering these cookies are. I live in Houston, ok? I've been to lots of bakeries. Have I EVER had a cookie better than Gemma's sandwich cookies? No. No, I have not. They are a dream and I seriously salivate just thinking about them. I base my errands and outings around getting a sandwich cookie on the weeks that they are serving them. I mean, all of the cookies are phenom. The toffee? You'll hurt yourself they're so good. The peanut butter cup-oatmeal magic she does? Instant addiction. But these sandwich cookies.. like for real- words can't describe. They are art and that buttercream is second to none. I even have a favorite way to eat each of the flavors! I know this sounds extreme but I am telling you! So good!! They have the perfect amount of salt to keep these rich magical babies in balance and make them more adult than other sandwich cookies. Go have one! Try all the flavors! Also get me one. haha Taryn's sandwich-cookie eating process for full flavor effect: Lemon poppyseed needs to be eaten straight-up like a sandwich. The molasses/gingerbready guy needs to have his top taken off and eaten alone. THEN eat the bottom part with the frosting on top. DROOL The chocolate peanut butter needs to go into your mouth like a wheel so its like cookie on the right and left and frosting in the middle. For real! Take one regular sandwich bite and then rotate that thing to wheel into your mouth as you bite and its going to change your life. The butterscotchish one in the pictures? You can eat that one ANY.WAY. and each bite will still be perfect.“

“I got the avocado chili toast and the a regular vanilla latte. they only had two milk choices if i remember correctly and me being "adventurous" i tried the pistachio mik. idk if it was the milk or the coffee itself but i didnt like the way that coffee tasted, i only drank 1/3.
their avocado toast was pretty good I really liked the combo with goat cheese esp. the avocado part was a little too mushy. fyi this toast is a full meal not an appetizer. big portions. so if you are hungry go for it but if you're not hungry I don't think it's a good choice because you might just want to eat it later and it's the type of food that if you eat it later it won't be that good imo
the café interior is pretty nice, simple bright & clean. artwork for purchase at the back. they have a meeting room which is a nice touch. not a big cafe but still efficient space wise without feeling too crowded.“

“Got a Citrus Iced Americano which was refreshing and really just excellent. It reminded me of the Skakerato at Boomtown Coffee on 19th St in the Heights. The barista said it had marmalade in it and what looked to me like sorbet. This is the best citrus/coffee combination I've ever had.
I had the green mole empanada and another one I can't remember, both of which were flavorful. They are a little pricey at $9.99 a piece, but the were filling enough that I could only eat 2.
The staff were friendly and answered my many questions. The shop itself is in a beautiful older building. Inside it looks like a standard coffee shop but has decently comfortable seating. One critique I would offer is that there is a large dining table near the register, and I feel that it makes lining up to order kind of awkward.
There's a small metered parking strip in front of the building that still has coin - only meters. I was there at lunchtime and there was space available. Street parking is usually pretty easy in this part of midtown during the day, but fills up in the late afternoon and evening hours.

“I’m not going to lie. I was iffy on the concept of an outdoor cookie shop — in this Texas heat, I think not!
In this instance, I was gladly proven wrong. My experience at Milk and Cookies really blew me away. The chocolate chip cookies was to die for, the ambiance Pinterest worthy, and not going to lie, there was something about ending my day outside with a warm cookie that made the experience magical.
It was a 9/10 experience that will have me going back the next time I crave a sweet treat; the only thing that could have made it better was if my milk was a little bit more cold when served lol, and if they had a little bit more seating. Truly think they can either fit a picnic table or 1-2 more mini tables in the lawn area.
Tip: I have a couple. First, as the name suggests, you can literally order a glass of milk alongside your cookies. I’d recommend you do this to tie the experience together. As well, I’d visit when the sun is going down. It honestly wasn’t too hot around 6pm but peak TX heat can be brutal. Be careful out there. Finally, Milk & Cookies can be a cute way to end your date with a little sweet treat, js!“

“Great location, across from Royal Oak. One of Houston's finest gated community. This cute restaurant have some of the prettiest dishes, not only delicious but affordable. Modern decor, clean and parking is spacious. I would recommend this chic restaurant in a heart beat! Unlike those Asian restaurants in or near Chinatown, lol. You don't need to fight for parking or risks someone running into you or your car. 🥂“

“Slowpokes lives up to its name — both in the best and not-so-best ways. The coffee is always good, and the staff is genuinely friendly. The shop has plenty of seating and good vibes, but most of the chairs are fixed without backs. That means the few tables with benches and back support are usually taken, leaving the rest a bit uncomfortable if you’re hoping to really settle in.
Service is consistently slow, no matter the location. Even if we’re the only ones in line, there’s always a wait for drinks. That said, it’s still a nice spot with a warm atmosphere, good coffee, and a laid-back feel — just don’t come here in a rush or expecting to “post up” comfortably for long.“

“Anvil Bar is one of those places that just gets it right. The second you walk in, the vibe is on point chill, fun, and full of good people. If you're looking to have a great time, be around awesome energy, and sip on some unreal cocktails, this is the spot. Trust me on this one-no notes needed.

The drinks are of the highest level, and the service is seriously top-tier. Massive shoutout to Mabel, Corey, and Manny the man🧍♂️ and the whole team. They’re all super professional, but still keep things relaxed and fun. You feel welcomed, taken care of, and honestly, like part of the place.
There’s this younger, fresh energy that makes you want to stay all night. Whether you're out with friends or just stopping by, Anvil always hits. Keep it up, guys-you're doing something special. Can’t wait to come back.
