“I finally tried their hamburgers after living in Brownsville for 52 years. I was surely missing out. The burgers are simple but full of flavor. The menu is simple. No french fries. They do sell small bags of chips. The location is just a hallway with nine half tables protruding from either wall which accommodate one person on either side. I took my order to go and enjoyed the burgers at home because the inside felt hot and stuffy even though they had air conditioning and ceiling fans. The burgers are worth the trip. Place has been in service since 1922. They must be doing something right.“

“The food and atmosphere give you that old school diner feel. The burgers taste great! The milkshakes are creamy and delcious. The fries, tots, and onion rings are fried to perfection. It was surprisingly good. It took me back to that shopping store diner that used to be at places like Kress and Woolworth. I would definitely recommend this place for a family night out or hanging out with friends.“

“Food was great! Our server Cassandra was awsome. Brought our drinks and food in a timely manner. The frozen margarita was very good and my friend really enjoyed the Texas tea.

“Food was delicious and did get good table service. But unfortunately when we wanted to pay for a plate to go separately, the lady at register was visibly annoyed at this request. She was rushing through what was what on waitress ticket, saying what was being charged and I was surprised at final cost. Make sure to ask if your not local on cost if the items and what is included on plate ordered. Any changes added to bill. Food was great, but unfortunately the way they handled the separate bill request, we will look elsewhere for breakfast all day restaurant.“

“Most importantly, the food is great! The decor is nice enough and the drinks are typical for a restaurant. But besides the food, what sets Dirty Al’s apart from the rest it’s their service! Starting from the bar, through the wait staff and ending with the manager, the Brownsville location will do everything in their power to make you feel comfortable. Denise the manager, Karla my waiter, Rick & Clarita my bartenders get special mentions. Great place, great food and a good time. P.S. The daily lunch special is affordable and delicious. “Great authentic food here. Delicious and seasoned to perfection. Someone was celebrating a birthday, celebatory music started to blast out of the built in speakers and out came a server with a slice of dessert with a sparkler. I bet that person felt special. It was great to see.“

“If you ever had Bigos, this is a great place to grab and go. It's small inside so not the best for dining in, but totally doable.
The quality of the carne asada cannot be overstated. Even after driving back to the hotel and finding a place to sit and eat (15 min) the food was hot and so tender. Seriously, this is not like many fajita places where you are chewing this like a jerky adjacent product. It's soft flavorful and easy to chew.
Sides were tasty but the meat really steals the show.“

“The Enchiladas Monterrey that my wife had were more than enough to take home. Large portions. The Durango Quesadilla that I had was very well seasoned with lots of carne asada and cheese. The meals come with soup and dessert. Highly recommend!!“

“This is a place that we regularly eat at. They make the dishes the way that you wanted seasoned. I usually get vegetables with either shrimp or chicken. Another dish that I love is the Chicken Almond. All their dishes are great along with their hot teas!“

“Really quick and delicious meal. The meat is flavorful, the sauces are nice and spicy, and the toppings really pull everything together. I had the quesataco, taco de bistek, and frijoles especiales. The frijoles were really really good. Over the top with flavor. I would come back again!“
