“I've been thinking about how to write this review since last night, when I visited Bouldin Creek Cafe for dinner after a long day of travel.
Normally I don't have to think very hard, but this place definitely has me searching for new adjectives to describe just how unbelievably good my food was.
Let me just keep it simple. The breakfast tacos contained tofu scramble that I will never forget. I'm going to tell my kids about this tofu scramble. If I ever become a professor, I'm going to teach a class about this tofu scramble. It was the most incredible application of flavor to taste buds I think I've ever had.
The staff were also extremely kind, knowledgeable, and very willing to tolerate my menu-indecision ?.
Even the other customers were kind and friendly. That isn't normally something you can really credit to the establishment, but I have no doubt that the quality of food and the general atmosphere of the cafe had at least something to do with attracting such nice people.
I don't care if you are vegan, vegetarian, omnivorous, or have never eaten a vegetable in your life. You owe it to yourself to come and eat here.

“I reserved online for my daughter’s birthday and got into town an hour earlier and they still were able to accommodate us. At the table with the menus was a birthday card with a really nice and meaningful note on the inside. Staff, drinks, and food were amazing! Definitely recommend checking this place out.“

“We are normal customers and love getting our Saturday ribs . Today we went For their steak night and it was beyond amazing. My husband and I shared a beautiful 2.4 lbs ribeye cooked to absolute perfection! We paired it with the best onion rings and miso glazed carrots . One of the owners also got us a burger , when I say it was the best one I have ever had it is not an exaggeration. It was the most juicy & tender burger ever . To end our night we got the cheddar cheesecake with apple butter which was a perfect combo of a savory sweet treat. We will definitely be back again and we highly recommend trying it out .“

“Beautiful restaurant. The shrimp and grits were delicious very flavorful. The grits portion was tiny and cold-literally, just enough to taste after a significant wait. Service in general was a little slow. They have a decent kids menu. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a place to meet and do more talking than eating.“

“This place was excellent! I had a boozy salted caramel Iced coffee that was amazing.The cinnamon roll french toast was delicious with fresh fruit and an ooey gooey drizzle. The Floridian omelette was rich and full of flavor. The grits were so creamy, I requested some cheese on top but it honestly didn't need any. the Bacqueza Omelette was savory and smokey with just enough spice and creaminess from the cream cheese. Our server Isaiah was polite and provided us great service. The only issue we had was how rude and uninterested the hostess was.“

“This, by far, seems to be one of the most perfect places in Austin to get the right size sandwich, a place where the sandwich is not too heavy and at the same time not too light. I would definitely come here for lunch on a weekday or frankly any day if you’re looking to have something delicious but not too filling to the point where you have to go to sleep afterwards. Updating this review in November 2024. The place is still amazing! But had to remove a star for the parking situation. They use a service that requires you to scan a QR code and either pay for parking or get 3 hours free. It is NOT evident that you need to do this and none of the staff mentioned it. A couple weeks later, I got a fine letter. I ended up having to pay "Parking Revenue Recovery Services" a total of a $99 fine. I wish someone at the Salty Sow informed me of this. I would have rather spent that money at the restaurant the next time I visited. Y'all should change this process with your parking vendor.“
