“I had their Chilaquiles Rellenos De Queso en salsa verde, and it was down right delicious!!! These Chilaquiles are so unique because the tortillas are larger than the typical ripped or cut pieces we typically get in a normal dish of Chilaquiles. What makes them really amazing is that the tortillas come stuffed with cheese and they were so delicious. It comes sprinkled with crumbled cheese and green salsa.
There is parking in front but you can also park along the side street. Our server checked on us routinely and the place has a nice cozy atmosphere, oh and it's self seating.“

“My sister treated me to breakfast and it was wonderful. My nephew Liam who is 8 years old wanted his own “Liam Special Plate.” Which consisted of Two enchiladas, three slices of bacon, one over medium sunny side up egg, potatoes and an entire pancake. To my amazement, he ate it all!!! And doesn’t even show on his tummy everything he ate. Liam said everything is great here and he loved the enchiladas. Please come by. “A Mexican restaurant at the end of the River Walk away from all the hustle and bustle of tourists and other restaurants. But make no mistake, this is a must visit restaurant if you want good Mexican food. We had Bloody Mary’s which were probably the best we’ve had. We also ordered the appetizer sampler for two and it was delicious. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcome.“

The most delicious tacos at affordable prices!
I stopped by 4 food trucks before finding El Caminante because everyone else was cash only.
Here, I was greeted with a smile while being patient with me to figure out what I wanted to eat. I ordered the order of mini tacos, chicken quesadillas, charros & Mexican cokes. All so good!

The food is actually very good from someone who has been many places globally.
The young man at the counter is very shy but kind and has to put up with the sometimey cook in the back.

Don’t be shocked to hear them say they don’t want to make something and the order is too big.(usually it’s not)
Not very good for business.
They will put restrictions on how many of a certain item you can buy.
Overall this isn’t the prettiest place to stop but they keep it clean at the tables and they don’t too long to get your food out to you.
Small mom and pop shop so come with that in mind and you will get some pretty good tacos for sure.
Tea is a bit too sweet for my liking but heck I don’t like diabetes on my first sip.

“We came to Ruben because of it's reputation for being the best Tamales in San Antonio. During tamale season, this place has a line that starts very early in the morning with long wait. Luckily it's not the season, so no line. They gave us samples and they are in fact the best Tamales I've ever had. Maybe best in the world.“
