The service was excellent, the decor was cozy, and the food was divine. The miso soup was perfectly done, not too salty, not too bland, but nice and hearty. The chirashi bento was amazing. Instead of the usual meh salads they give you squid and seaweed salad which were delicious. The half tuna rolls were more tuna than rice and were fresh and delicious. And the chirashi was just heavenly. Each piece of sashimi was topped with its own seasoning to really bring out the flavor of the fish, complimented by the high quality rice and salmon roe underneath. I was so satisfied by the food I ordered dessert and got to taste the amazing tempura cheesecake. Though pricey, it was worth said price. I left the place full and happy and will be back. 10/10“

“My family and I celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday at Truluck’s in Southlake, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish.
We had a reservation for 7:15 PM for a fairly large group of nine people. Our table wasn’t quite ready when we arrived because the party before us needed a little extra time, and since we were a big group there weren’t many tables that could accommodate us. The manager, Mike, came over personally to apologize for the delay and told me he wanted to make sure my mom had a memorable birthday celebration.
We were seated around 7:30 PM—honestly only about 15 minutes late, which didn’t bother me at all—but Mike insisted on sending complimentary appetizers while we waited. I told him it wasn’t necessary, but he very politely insisted. To our surprise he sent six appetizers: two shrimp cocktails, two crab cakes, and two orders of calamari. It was incredibly generous and such a classy gesture.
Our server Kyle was spectacular. He was friendly, attentive, and handled a table of nine with ease. Service like that makes a big difference, and he absolutely delivered.
The food and wine were phenomenal. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the steaks were excellent. I had the shrimp and scallop sauté and added an 8 oz filet because I couldn’t decide—no regrets. The Parker House rolls were a massive hit with the table (buttery, warm, slightly crisp on the outside), and we ended up ordering four baskets.
To top off the evening, they surprised us with two complimentary Baked Alaska desserts that were big enough for the entire table to share—not just the birthday girl.
I can’t say enough about how well Mike and Kyle treated our family. They went above and beyond to make my mom’s 70th birthday special.
Truluck’s Southlake is now our go-to spot for special occasions. We’ll absolutely be back.“

“Ate the Irving location and it was nice but the portions are a lot smaller… at least for my Hudson Salad, I would suggest the one on Lovers Lane. The salad on the left is at Lovers Lane and the other is Irving and you can clearly see more of the bowl. They were both delicious and service was great but I was really disappointed.“

Then I decided to celebrate my successful trip with a fine $30 “airport meal!” Now usually, airport meal of &30 means a hot dog & glass of water (or 99¢ bottle of water marked up to 4.99 and 5$ hot dog marked up to $15 + tip)
But no no no, my friend! Pappadeaux, as good at the airport as out. I’ll show a pic of what a $30 Pappadeaux airport meal looks like.
My server Ethan treated me like visiting royalty, the food was EXACTLY what I needed. Just a salad & appetizer. I chose Caesar salad & a crab Mac & cheese! Do you think I poked around looking for a sliver of crabmeat!? Au contraire, cher! Pappadeaux for the win!“

Let’s start with the Oyster platter.. pico was fresh and it could’ve been better with more flavor..

Next up is the Tosti-Viche - I was thinking it was okay with more salsa that they had in the buckets.. 4/5 on that one

We also ordered Tacos Governador and Fish Platter.. they were alright.

Like I said, they need more flavors and seasoning.

If you’re in the mood for live music, this could be a good option, with the only exception that you’d have to come when there’s more ambiance.

This place needs more spices and better house salsas to give their food some life.

However! There’s a photographer that took our picture and she framed it for us. That was a sweet touch!- and yes you have to pay for it.

None the less my liddo sister Christel Rios brought me on a runaway short trip from Wichita Falls Tx to Dallas Tx to visit family and then we ended up in Grapevine Tx on our way home and stopped to finally eat here at Saltgrass. We entered in and had might I ask, where was the hostess with the mostess to greet us? However, we were finally seen and seated. The lovely gentleman sat us as we told him that it was our first time eating there. I was sooooo excited. So he sat us down.....its beautiful inside. Couldnt keep my off of everything in there....its like a scene from thw WILD WEST. Well moving on, our waiter was Matthew, he was AMAZINGGGGG to us! 🥇⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and so on for stars. “We visited SaltGrass Steak House in May 2025. We wanted the stereotypical steak, while we were on our short visit to Texas. This place did not disappoint. It is a Texas-themed steak house, which was exactly what we were seeking. The ambience is fun with a deep nod to the history of the state. The background music is quiet enough to permit conversation – which I found to be a lot more considerate than a number of other restaurants I have experienced nearby. There is a lot of Texas memorabilia on the walls, which was fun to look at. The food was outstanding. We tried some appetizers prior to our entrees. I can’t fault them. They were tasty and good value for money. Our entrees, the steaks, were perfect! If you want to taste “bliss” a visit to this place is highly advised. I hoped to sample the desserts but, because the appetizers and entrees were so delicious there was, sadly, no room. Gabe was our server. He was an absolute sweetheart. He was fun, friendly, and professional – and bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed. I can’t speak highly enough of this young man.
