“Our experience at MF Sushi was incredible. I brought my sister here to celebrate her upcoming wedding, and it could not have been a better choice. We sat at the sushi bar and watched the chefs create everything right in front of us, which made the night feel really special. My sister and I are both pretty serious about sushi, and MF lived up to every expectation. The quality, presentation, and flavor were right on par with Michelin-star spots like Sushi By Scratch. The staff went above and beyond, even surprising us with a complimentary champagne toast to celebrate. Between the amazing food, the calm and elegant atmosphere, and the thoughtful service, everything came together perfectly. Easily one of the best sushi experiences in Houston. Highly recommend.“

“We were in the area for an Artwalk event so we Googled for a place nearby we could satisfy our sushi craving. Wow! What a fantastic find! Jellyfish is located on busy Ella Blvd in a very modest inconspicuous shopping strip - if you’re not looking, you’re going to miss it. Don’t miss out though!! This place has delicious food and you’ll experience excellent service. Everything was super fresh and prepared to perfection. I enjoyed the hibachi steak/chicken, grilled veggies & steamed rice. The meats were tender as were the veggies perfectly grilled & seasoned as well. We shared a roll of Sushi that was masterfully prepared by cooks that know how to do it. The restaurant is simple inside but kept very clean. We had no problem with parking. Restrooms very clean. We will return and recommend Jellyfish to others for fresh authentic Japanese cuisine.“

“Chef Sky is a genuine down to earth person that deserves all the success! He puts his heart into his food and puts a creative spin on his menu that is executed phenomenally. His innovation with food and his incorporation of interactive gastronomy (you get to blow your own smoke bubble on your dish!) is very refreshing to experience especially in this age of cookie cutter omakases. Normally you would never expect to see ingredients like pork floss or lao gan ma on sushi — however he did it. He put them on sushi and it was such an unbelievably wonderful combination. He also included a piece of his story in his menu — homemade laksa. He showed a lot of thoughtfulness in the quantity and the contents of the laksa (like not including too many carbs/protein), knowing that it is a heavier soup that he incorporated about a third through the omakase. I was immaculately satiated by the last course so in the end, the portion and pacing of the courses was perfect. It was truly an honor to spend the night dining and chatting with Chef Sky. His inventive take on his cuisine really makes him a gastronomic visionary. We will definitely be returning and giving him our love and support!“

“We went for a celebratory lunch post-graduation. The graduation went long, but we were able to move our reservation with no issues - Uchiko was very flexible! They also made us feel like it was a special occasion. The food, of course, was amazing. It was all very interesting and delicious, with lots of citrus touches that I really love. The restaurant is beautiful inside, at a great location near the Galleria, with a thoughtful staff. I don't live in Houston so I can't make this a regular eexperience, but it was worth it.“

“I recently visited this place, and it was a real gem. It’s a bit of a drive, but my friend raved about it, and I couldn’t resist checking it out.

The shop is run by a lovely older Japanese couple, and they don’t take reservations, so we arrived as soon as they opened at 12 pm.

The exterior might not be the most flashy, but the food inside is absolutely incredible! The menu is small, but everything is carefully crafted and bursting with flavour. The sashimis are cut so thick and fresh, they’re a sight to behold. And the best part? The prices are very reasonable.

I highly recommend this place, especially if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed!“

I asked if they had a wait time, and they said they had an open spot available for one. It was at 830pm mind you. When I got there, they no longer had it available, or at least that's what the host said, and then the host said they were no longer taking spots so I was out of luck at 830pm(they close at 10pm). Then immediately following this another pair of people walked in, and they took their names. I've been coming to Oishii since 2007, and when a restaurant rejects you like this, all I can think is to pretty much no longer visit. I guess if you go by yourself you're not welcome. I won't be returning, so that's how you lose a customer of 18 years.“

“I've been coming here for years since my Lil sister lives nearby and in walking distance. THEIR happy hour is great and their thai wings are 😋 always yummy! The sushi rolls are delicious as well, we had the DAMN GOOD ROLL WITH SHRIMP TEMPURA, cream cheese and avocado 🥑 😋. We will be back for happy hour soon! I had miso soup 🍜 with tofu in a couple of places but this restaurant served it with mushrooms 🍄‍🟫, I NEVER ENJOYED MUSHROOMS! The way the restaurant prepared their miso soup was so delicious that I savored each spoonful 🥣🥄 before gulping it down. Then came THE DAILY CHEF'S LUNCH SPECIAL, MY DEAR CELESTIALS! Everything tasted and looked outstanding and delectable; it's all about presentation and they excelled it 🍣. Then came their salad 🥗 with this ginger 🫚 pureed dressing with a tang 🍋‍🟩🍋 (I am assuming this) that complimented well that it left my tongue wagging for more variety of flavors. Last but not least, CHICKEN KATSU and healthy yet small portions of rice 🍚 and cooked vegetables 🥕 , ooh yes 😋. By the way, for a small place in Westheimer Road, this restaurant gets packed a little bit, their meals can be moderately expensive BUT for me it was worth the dine—SATISFIED TILL THE END.“
