“Good fresh Mexican food. Ordered the Pastor Quesadilla and was not disappointed. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the portion size for the price wasn't too bad for Austin. Only downside was the tacos were missing the onions and cilantro, but had salsa to make up for it a bit. Queso dip was a great size and not too bad tasting, chips were store bought nothing special. Overall worth a try if you're in the area“

“I was sent for work here in Austin from the Waco area and found this gem. Since I'm on a restrictive diet, I googled and found Hippy Eats! I have never had a falafel before but was not disappointed. Jason was nice and easy to talk to and went above and beyond in every aspect of the experience. He even enhanced my falafel with extras (we'll call it a secret menu item for now). The smell of the food from the ride back to work was delicious and the taste was great as well. Thank you Jason for the Austin falafel experience!“

“We are normal customers and love getting our Saturday ribs . Today we went For their steak night and it was beyond amazing. My husband and I shared a beautiful 2.4 lbs ribeye cooked to absolute perfection! We paired it with the best onion rings and miso glazed carrots . One of the owners also got us a burger , when I say it was the best one I have ever had it is not an exaggeration. It was the most juicy & tender burger ever . To end our night we got the cheddar cheesecake with apple butter which was a perfect combo of a savory sweet treat. We will definitely be back again and we highly recommend trying it out .“

“Got the classic and the sincronizada burgers and they were awesome. The classic had their special sauce and was juice and very well seasoned. The sincronizada was a very interesting mix of a burger and a taco. The chorizo did not overpower the whole burger and it had a tortilla inside the burger, very creative mix of flavors, would recommend if you are feeling adventurous and want to try a different style burger. The fries were nice and crispy, not soggy and well seasoned.“

“For our 101st 'cue stop in Texas, we stopped by this food truck on a Saturday morning. It was not at all busy, in sharp contrast to several of the other outlets in the court. We laid out $43.40 to purchase 2 biscuits with brisket and smoked strawberry jam. We added hash browns to each order ( 2 wedges per order). Although the biscuit was quite dry, the brisket was well prepared, and the smoked strawberry jam a real treat. But no plastic utensils were supplied, so we ended up scooping the jam up with our fingers. Bring your own utensils with you if you choose to visit! We're glad we came, but the price point struck us as very, very high for what we received-- too high for our wallets to absorb a second time.“

“I am grateful to find Tres Maria’s. We enjoy tamales at Christmas. They made 3 dozen tamales, chicken, pork, and cheese. Wonderful flavor and quality meat. They are large tamales, too. We arranged to take out Christmas Eve and the shop was closed, but they called when the tamales were ready and picked up. We will do this again.“

“Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit). Whether you've had Taiwanese food before and are craving it or just want to try some incredible fried chicken in a cool South Austin spot, definitely give them a try. ❤“

The carne asada was great, the pastor tacos with the fresh pineapple lived up to having pastor in the name, and the quesabirria tacos had us wishing we got more. “I’m fairly disappointed…in myself, for living so close but having waited so long to come.
Best independent coffee spot in…a rather large area.
I like to think I’m relatively snobbish about good coffee and came in with the mindset of “well it’s close, well priced, hopefully it gets the caffeine in with out too much of a letdown” and yeah pleasantly surprised.
There was a line…and it moved fast. The service was friendly, and again, fast. I ordered three drinks, two hot and one iced and next thing I know it’s coffee time.
Cortado was great, balanced, tasty.
Mocha latte was satisfying without the “Hershey’s syrup” too sweet take you find many other places.
My favorite was the Horchata iced latte. I love iced horchata and espresso, I instinctively added an additional shot to balance out the horchata, and for me it was perfect. Not to sweet or thin like some horchatas.
Also had a seeded cream cheese croissant number that was savory, and light.
Worth the stop in!“
