“As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a big smile and a bunch of sweets that looked delicious. To a lovely host that lead us to the bar area. Carmen was a superstar helping us pick out or food and omg her old fashion drinks were on point. The best walnut bitter old fashion I've ever had. The salsa was on point . We ordered the fajitas for two and they came out smoking 🔥 and on point. Pictures to follow.“

“Finally got to try this place after having it pinned. Food was good and did not disappoint! First, their tortillas de masa (corn) are fresh. Met the owner and he was cool.
He mentioned that they are in the middle of renovations so I’m looking forward to what’s to come. I’m hoping to collab with them and bring some ‘Deep House’ vibes and a new hot spot in San Marcos! (cough, cough) :D
The Carne asada taco, tuna tostada and fish taco and the quesadilla de asada are definitely worth trying for yourselves. I did not try this but the burrito from the table next to us looks promising. A local business definitely worth checking out and supporting imo“

I ordered barbacoa tacos and they were so good and almost all meat and no fat. I also got the pozole and the flavors were just incredible. Perfect portions, very friendly staff, and really good prices!“

“I have to say the restaurant was off the chain! The food was superb and extremely reasonable prices.. We need to give a shout out to our waitress Kiley who was Magnificent. She is definitely 5 star restaurant quality. We have been to very upscale restaurants and not had half of the amazing service she provided. When you go ask for Kiley!!“

“It’s over all a good place, the food is good and the people are nice however my biggest concern is they do not update the price of foods online to reflect the in house menu. For example the “super taco” used to be 4.99 and it still reflects that online however after the most recent visit there the price has gone up to 10 dollars with tax. Other than that a great place.“

“Had the privilege of trying Garcia's for the first time at the original LBJ location in San Marcos yesterday! Met the owners Selina and Johnny Ybarra, their long-time manager, Lillian and a few of their wonderful servers. Very attentive service, I was able to easily customize my meal and it was delicious!! My colleague's beef fajita taco looked very fresh and a generous portion! Definitely a staple for authentic Mexican food in San Marcos! Definitely 5-Stars all the way around! I know where I'll be eating on my next visit to San Marcos!“

“Pretty annoyed, second time ive ordered a CHICKEN CHALUPA an upgrade on the garcias deluxe meal and they dont gove me a chicken chalupa, but a bean and cheese TOSTADA. Like thats what i was craving, and i got ripped on my chicken upgrade twice now. I live close by and like the food but this is frustrating, please pay attention, i dont just throw money at eating out just anywhere, and i dont want to feel regret when i do. Mind that the food was still all good its just dissapointing as all hell when you dont get what you were craving and 'splurged' on after work . Besides that staffs always kind too, just maybe back of house needs to check for modifications more >_<'...“

“In town for service call, seen this place as I was heading to customer. So glad I stopped by and got me some of these delicious tacos. Carne Guisada was on point, chorizo n papas full of flavor and bacon, egg, and potatoes all good especially with the home made tortillas! Stop by when you come through here, you will be glad you did. “One of my best friends showed me this place, and I'm so glad he did. I have become obsessed with their flautas. They don't skimp on the toppings WHICH I LOVE. They're reasonably priced and always fresh. The red salsa is absolutely fire. I've had quite a bit of their tacos too, and haven't been disappointed with anything I've got from here. I love that this place is in a convenient location from my house, too.“

“Tamales are tasty and huge. Not too spicy, just a perfect kick. I share my food with co-workers and they said the tamales are the best they ever had. The owner is real nice and real attentive. She love what she do and you notice with the quality she delivers. I ordered 24 tamales, and next day i was forced to go back for more. The Raja Tamales are amazing!!One of my favorite spot for my Mexican Cravings!!No longer at location, they moved….“
