It was a large portion & absolutely amazing. Hubby had veal weiner schnitzel & red cabbage. The veal was so tender. We loved it all & will definitely return next time we’re in New Braunfels. Make a reservation ahead of time. It’s cozy & quite popular. We didn’t have a reservation & it took about an hour to get a table, but it was really worth it!“

Not only is the pizza great and in my opinion better than the other options in town, but the service is outstanding. Di goes out of her way to provide superior customer service. One day I had the kids in the car and they were both exhausted and sleeping and I didn't want to wake them up. I called around for a place that would do curbside and nobody agreed to do it for us to include another pizza place down the street. Di was the only business who would do that for us. “Impressive would be an understatement to describe dinner last night at Huisache Grill in New Braunfels, TX. A family owned spot for 30 years in an old cabinet shop that is rustically decorated but comfortable. My daughter and I were seated and our server Melissa set us up with drinks while we looked over an interesting menu. It was difficult to decide BUT this place also offers some of the meat options as an add-on to their other plates. So if you want a chicken dish but crave some duck too…you can add duck as a side! I ordered the Huisache Chicken Tortilla soup and Mixed Grill while my daughter ordered from the Mix & Match Combo. Both entrees came with a side salad too. The Chicken Tortilla soup is something you would be remiss…the absolute best version of this soup I’ve ever had! The Mixed Grill had 2x beef medallions, blackened quail, skewered spicy shrimp, and poblano bacon wrapped chicken. I LOVED it all! The creamy horseradish sauce and Dijon/Merlot sauce a wonderful compliment for dipping and the sides of herbed baby potatoes and sautéed vegetable medley nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Mix & Match consisted of beef medallions and the Char-broil grilled duck breast along with green beans and herbed potatoes. Again, everything delicious and the duck was very good and the char didn’t overcook the duck. We tried their GF Apple Crisp…for purists of this dish it is a dramatic flip…but in a good way of this dish. One note…only wine and beer, no cocktails available. This place has excellent service and Melissa was a pleasure to work with, while the soft music and atmosphere is so relaxing.“

Very good bbq, friendly owners/staff and the best value bbq around. Had pork ribs, brisket, jalapeño cheese sausage, Mac n cheese, potato salad, garlic mash potatoes and banana pudding. Protein standout were the ribs. Excellent taste and just fall off the bone. No knock on brisket, it was very good too, but ribs outstanding. Sides hard to pick favorite. Mustard style potato salad perfect (like mom makes) and garlic mash excellent… but I think they have the best Mac n cheese I’ve ever had. Best in class. Top it off with banana pudding which is sweet and tasty. My buddy had the brownie and wouldn’t stop talking about it. I’ll try it next time. Hurry up and go. You won’t be disappointed.“

“Very rarely do I give recommendations, this is one of the few. You have to meet the bartender Logan, who is absurdly knowledgeable about every type of concoction and liquor. He is why I am writing this review. My gf is very particular, and seldom a drinker, she prefers sweet, fruity drinks, while this bar caters to business cocktails. Logan went out of his way to make her a passionfruit tiki drink with gin all while providing thorough history on the drinks and liquors being used. Good way to spend the evening in Gruene.“

I also tried the White Chocolate Lavender, and while it’s not my favorite, it was impressively well-balanced. The staff are always attentive and friendly, making the experience enjoyable. The coffee itself is good, though I find it not as strong as I’d like compared to other spots.

Overall, it’s conveniently close to home and worth it for a quick stop. If you’re into creative, well-made coffee drinks with great service, Dutch Bros is a solid choice.
