“I experienced their donuts at a Lunar New Year event at Flow Yoga. I’m not usually a donut fan, but gave these a try. They are denser than typical, much closer to the ones my mom used to make. The flavors were so good! I got the tea infused one, the black sesame seed one, the yuzu and the mandarin. They were all delicious! “Olga is the best baker in all of Austin! She is endlessly creative in the flavors and designs she creates. We had to reschedule our big wedding for July 2021, but she still made us a cake for our minimony on our original wedding date of June 2020 and we were so grateful for that. We finally got to have our big celebration and she put together a dreamy dessert spread for us -- a modern bride’s cake, a realistic drum groom’s cake (my husband is a band director and he was so excited about his cake), mini cupcakes in four flavors and two kinds of cookies. “I discovered Kurty’s cookies right when they started selling and have yet to find a better cookie in Austin. They are the perfect amount of sweet, soft, crispy and honestly, addicting. When I got pregnant, I knew I wanted their cookies at my baby shower and received so many questions/compliments asking where the cookies were from (and there were multiple dessert options). The big hits were of course the original, but also the fruity pebble cereal and oatmeal raisin. They will always be a staple for me when craving cookies, but make the best gifts and catering treats. “I was worried about the cookie cakes being dry or communication being sparse based on some reviews, but Felicia at this location was very prompt to respond and our two cookie cakes turned out amazing AND delicious! All the kids at my son’s birthday party raved about how it was the best cookie cake they’ve ever had in their life (given these are little kids, they probably haven’t had too many cookie cakes in their life time, but when I tried it myself, I instantly believed them and agreed!). The cookie cakes were moist, chewy, and delicious and not overly sweet. I wasn’t expecting much because I mean how good can a cookie cake be, but it was up there with some of the best cookies I’ve had. And the design was spot on! Well done, Haley’s Cakes and Cookies!“
