“I can't believe that I have lived here for nearly 20 years, walked past this place many times, and just discovered it several weeks ago. WOW! The pastries and, cakes, muffins and croissants are excellent. Their homemade jams are wonderful. Their breads, quite yummy! I love their iced coffee , which has s a very subtle taste of cocoa. And, I am a very picky coffee snob. Service is sometimes a little chaotic, but the staff is super friendly. Weekend mornings are insanely busy- a reflection of how good they are. Amazing, spacious outdoor seating! LOVE this place.“

“This delightful French restaurant, created by Chef Cristophe, tucked in Alexandria, a stone's throw from DC, is well worth a visit. You will feel like you are in France when you walk in. The attentive, but not overbearing, staff allow you to take your time, enjoying each dish beautifully prepared and presented to you. The Prix Fixe dinner is of great value, allowing you to choose your 3 courses. (I highly recommend the Scallops Risotto) The wine list is carefully curated so you will find something you enjoy, or have a cocktail, like the perfect martini. You cannot go wrong with anything you might order. In good weather, the patio would be a lovely option for dining, also.“

“I had the most wonderful dining experience at La Fromagerie! Everything was delicious and the service was great! I began with champagne and foie gras. Next, I had the bouillabaisse; then, cheese course (a double or triple cream). I finished the meal with a chocolate pot de crème. I can’t wait until my next visit!“

“Restaurant Review: Le Sel French Bistro Le Sel French Bistro near Logan Circle delivers a delightful mix of classic French cuisine with modern flair in a cozy, chic setting. The Escargots were indulgent, with garlic Pernod butter enhancing their tender richness, while the Onion Soup transported me to Paris with its flavorful broth and golden, cheesy crust. The Steak au Poivre & Frites was a standout, perfectly cooked with bold black pepper jus, creamy Béarnaise, and crispy frites. Each dish balances tradition and creativity, making for a memorable dining experience. For an authentic taste of France in DC, Le Sel is a must-visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #LeSelFrenchBistro #FrenchCuisine #LoganCircleEats #DCFoodies #FineDining #FoodieFavorites“

“The elderly lady at the restaurant reception should be more friendly and welcoming to guests. She is the first person we encounter in the morning before breakfast, and unfortunately, her attitude feels more like she’s working at the White House than in a hospitality setting. I hope she can be more warm and smiling like the rest of the staff at the restaurant.“

“Service was excellent from walking in to walking out. Friendly, unpretentious, attentive. The food was incredible. We had coq au vin and boeuf bourgingnon which were both outstanding, tasty and just enough. Cabernet Franc worked well. Nice place.“

“Francesco was an amazing server. We came for my sister’s birthday dinner and everyone we interacted with made us feel special. Between the amazing seating, the best recommendations from Francesco, and the most delicious food, we couldn’t have had a better experience. He was incredibly helpful, kind, and funny. We had the foie gras, coq au vin, filet mignon, the creme brûlée, and Mont Blanc. They were all cooked perfectly and so tasty. I will be happy to come back to try more.“

“What a treat. We stumbled upon this restaurant on our first visit to Union Market in years, we recently heard great things about the Pastis NYC location and figured we might as well try getting a table! We were not disappointed. The staff was super attentive and welcoming and they were able to sit us within 5 minutes. atmosphere of this location is absolutely great and it's very busy lively not too loud while decorated it could be a bit overstimulating for some but for me it's the perfect vibe.
The seating was a bit packed in some places but there were plenty of bigger tables for larger groups to be seated without a problem. The bar was also massive but was completely full when we got there.
We shared the leek vinaigrette with the French onion soup and we were pleasantly surprised by the leek vinaigrette it was probably our favorite item of the meal. The French onion soup was extremely savory and more on the salty side but the delicious layer of cheese kind of helped mellow out that saltiness.
for our main entrée my wife and I shared the famous burger and it was absolutely divine 10 out of 10 recommend the burger I ordered a medium and it came out slightly more rare than I expected but it was still delicious and the patties were perfectly formed. the burger itself was very nicely dressed and it wasn't the least bit messy.“

“For years, I was an absolute fan of Le Diplomate. It reminded me of the charm of old Europe—Paris, Vienna—something I missed after moving to the U.S. The atmosphere was always inviting, the restaurant beautiful, and the food consistently good. As a bread lover, I was particularly fond of their bread basket. I often asked for a second round because I could never get enough of this delicious treat, made in countless ways over thousands of years.
A couple of weeks ago, my friends recommended a new French restaurant, Amélie. We decided to try it one evening, and what a treat it was! While the ambiance isn’t as old-world European as Le Diplomate, the modern vibe was refreshing. The open kitchen, with the crew moving around preparing dishes, added an exciting touch. But what I truly must highlight here is the food. Every single dish was bursting with flavor, expertly prepared, and utterly mouthwatering.
I was genuinely surprised to find that the food at Amélie surpassed even Le Diplomate and Pastis DC, which I had visited just a few weeks earlier. All four of us—who had visited both Le Diplomate and Pastis together—agreed that Amélie was the winner! The two desserts we shared were also fantastic, and the receipt presented to us in an old French book (ours was a classic Diderot) was a charming and thoughtful detail.
Amélie is now absolutely my go-to spot for exceptional French food, fantastic service, and a fun, lively atmosphere.“

“I had a strange experience a couple of weeks ago. My partner and I have dined at this establishment several times and most recent was last year. I always enjoyed the service and experience. A friend was in town and we went to Georgetown on the fly. It was a Thursday evening and I noted that there were available dining tables through the app. However, the doors were closed and locked, so we then accessed what appeared to be a bar area adjacent to the restaurant --as I wondered if the entrance had changed. A gentleman with an apron on mumbled something about the restaurant and then asked if we wanted to be seated at the bar. We declined and moved on. I did not see any notification on your website that there was an event or closure, and assume you operate on Thursdays after 5:30PM. So I am unclear if you're even still operating.“

“We had beef burgundy, beef cigars and rack of lamb. The food is amazingly good. Authentic and well prepared. I consider the best in this area. Their service is also excellent. This is our 5th time and we will come back soon.“

“A cozy and intimate space with warm lighting and vintage decor. The service and staff go beyond and above for you to spend a lovely time. Unfortunately the food is not up to the standards of the place. The steak was hard to cut and chew. The frites where plain and a little bit saggy. Even the filet mignon was hard.
Make sure to have a reservation. Another option is the bar, first come first serve.“

“I ordered 3 items, only the French Opera Cake tasted good. The cake had a rich chocolate flavor, not too sweet, and a firm texture. I personally recommend it.
The Tuna Steak Tartare tasted horrible, I like raw tuna and salmon. But under a few pieces of tuna was a pile of tasteless avocado, they were tasteless and inedible. The only flavor was probably a little bit lemon juice, and I wouldn’t have known how to eat it without the bread.
That cup of Americano was the worst coffee I had in maybe half year. It was just like water and had no aroma.“

“This place is amazing! What a great local gem to find! All their wine options are delicious, and they added a happy hour menu with small bites that are perfect. My only critique is that they don’t have any gluten free substitution options.“

“Last week we enjoyed dinner with Edgar Allen Poe. Okay, so maybe not the man himself- but about as close as I could imagine the experience to be. Dark, decadent, and full of surprise. We got to try their seasonal Poe themed menu, and it’s not just dinner- it nears theatre on a plate.“

“Lovely ambiance! We sat at the bar and had the three course menu. I was gluten free and the staff was so great about accommodating me! The food was very tasty with great flavors and texture. I really enjoyed all the courses. The beef was so tender and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert as well. The only downside was that we had been walking all day through the city and my phone had died. I was hoping they might be able to let me charge my phone briefly so we could get home but they were unable to do allow that.“

“Cafe Colline is spectacular. I had a toddler with me, was dressed in an adidas track suit, and wanted real food as we waited for someone working in the area. Most of the customers were much better dressed and without a child. Nothing wrong with this, just painting the picture. The staff could not have been nicer and more professional. We were greeted with open arms, sat immediately, and served with absolute professionalism. My food (the fish) was so good I considered licking the plate. They don’t necessarily have a kid’s menu but offered numerous things to make a toddler. I went with the burger and fries. They complimented this with numerous dipping sauces and made the burger to order. The charge was minimal and fair. I always clean up after him as toddlers can be messy and they insisted on letting them clean up (I did it anyway). Restrooms were spotless and the kitchen area you pass was very clean and well organized. It’s a small spot full of big talent. This will be a regular for us. A must dine.“
