“After this place has been on “RVA Restaurants to Try” list for about 3 years, this was our first time eating at Fat Dragon, but it certainly not be our last! The wonton soup was the best my mother has ever tasted…keep in mind, she’s traveled all over the world. The ginger dressing was so delicious, I asked the server if they sold it in bottles. The garlic chicken and basil beef were both so tender and flavorful, I would highly recommend them both. And last but not least, our server was great! Do not wait to try this place like I did!!!! “Excellent I’m a known chef visiting VCU in Richmond, Virginia and saw there were great Chinese places. Since 1981 I’ve loved however not found many legit shredded pork in garlic sauce dishes. They nailed it, this classic Sichuan dish . When she placed on the table I had flash backs to Houston Texas the last time I actually ordered the dish as every place did it no justice. If you’ve never tried its spicy, salty, little acidic. Steamed rice has to be and was perfect. I started with a great hot and sour soup and then the green onion pancake. The pancake golden brown, crispy, cooked perfect. The soup a great blend had me sweating. Only negative is I’m from Georgia.“

“I've been happily stopping at Hunan East, nearly every Saturday, to fill up a take-out tray from their buffet, which has many healthful options, with stir-fried meat and vegetables, all cooked just enough. I get enough food for 4 meals, for the price of two, and that's with a tip (just my choice, not expected, and I serve myself).“

“A great evening. Excellent service and enjoyable and very delicious meal. The brown rice was probably getting near the bottom of the dish by signs of resident overcooked bits. But that did not distract from the overall meal. Service was excellent.“

“My parents were ordering from Yum Yum for us since they opened in the 90’s. For me personally this is the best Chinese food in town. They are family owned and really good people, their food is always fresh and they have the best fried noodle chips, fried rice, general tsos chicken and eggrolls. They also deliver which is really fast, I was pleasantly surprised they delivered out to my area so be sure to ask to see if you’re not sure.“

“We have ordered here for years and have always loved the food. It's generally our favorite Chinese in the area. Unfortunately the last 2 times we have had missing items. It wasn't a huge deal (especially the first time - just missing an egg roll) but today we were missing 2 egg rolls. I really don't like to complain but it seems they may be going down hill which I really hate. Please pay attention when packing orders and start checking everything before you leave!“

“Service was quick and made to order. The cashier was green but great at helping me order the things with best value.

In fact, the online prices from the web platform's service fees and just different online menu prices in general are absurd, my order went from $55 to $34 after tip just by going in person and ordering at counter. Definitely do that instead of ordering for takeout if you have 10 minutes to wait.

“This is a pleasant surprise… My wife and I are new to the area (6 Months) and over the past few months we have been in town have been trying places to compare to our classic back home “American style Chinese” favorites. This was a great meal. We called, placed to go, and drove 9 minutes to pick up our “ready in 15” order. When I walked in the man working the counter was bringing that all to familiar brown paper bag from the back. Just our luck it was my order, we had a great quick conversation and I headed on my way. Now, for the food, that’s what matters because after all this is not a sit down style place, so ignore those negative atmosphere reviews…

The order was $52 for crab Rangoon, steamed pork dumplings (real dumps, not someone trying to pass Goyza off as a dumpling!) and 2 warm fresh egg rolls. The mains were General tso’ chicken and a happy family. One order white and one order fried rice. All were a great balance of flavor, meat, vegetables and sauce. We are extremely pleased with the overall experience and I recommend anyone looking for a quick filling meal show this spot some support.

“Living South of the river, I was pleasantly reminded about China Panda via the Sons of China Panda pop up this week. This morning, I got the egg tart, peanut silken tofu and mochi cake. I'm saving the egg tart and mochi cake for an after school treat sampling. The silken tofu that he said his Mom was up making overnight was simple, delicious, and a much more favorable breakfast than the typical simple carb or saturated fat laden fare common in our American diets and reflected in the offerings by local businesses. Last night i inadvertently put in one digit off on my address and the food was delivered to the wrong house. I called after not receiving the food and realized it was my fault. They remade our order and sent it back out to us immediately even after i told them it was my fault! Truly amazing service and we will always support them!“

“The Wonton soup was delicious. Deep textured broth. My wife had the Sesame Chicken, and I had the Mongolian Combo, which was beef, chicken, and shrimp. The Sesame Chicken was tasty, but maybe a little too sweet bc it was over-sauced. The Mongolian dish was very tasty and fresh, not too sweet, and the meet was tender. I got take-out, and I would definitely order from here again.“

“I just got the lunch special shrimp fried rice, and I must say it was good. Just one complaint - the shrimps were miniatures. I was thinking it was because this was the lunch special. If they offer or put bigger shrimp in the dish this would easily get a 5 rating. Other than that, I gladly recommend!“

“The food was amazing. Fresh fried noodles, wonton soup, Double cooked pork, garlic pork. Here's the thing almost no restraunts in my experience make Double cooked (twice cooked) pork properly. I'm about to be 50. For over 30 years I have ordered this dish from nearly every restaurant trying to get what I remembered having in CT in the 90s from a local spot.

Most use slab roast pork from what seem like days prior. Small ribbons of cabbage.
This cabbage is large soft pieces almost velvety , garlicy spicy sauce, and most importantly the pork is fresh, succulent similar to the best moo shu. No description on the menu. You'd never know.

I look foward to the 40 minute drive from Crewe. This place is a hidden treasure off the main roads. Nestled in a community.

“I ordered the House Special Chow Fun, and the menu didn’t mention that it contained pork. Since I can’t eat pork, I wasn’t able to eat the meal. Unfortunately, I only realized this after I had already driven home.

I called the restaurant to explain the situation. They told me they couldn’t offer a refund, but they were willing to exchange it for a version without pork. I appreciated that they offered a solution, but it did mean I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to make the exchange (I live far :( )

“Crazy how the reviews are so different. I have been getting food from here for years and have never had a bad experience with the food or anything. Food and customer service has always been good for me. Bourbon Chicken and/or Black Pepper Chicken is what I get 80% of the time. Everything else I have tried has been good also. Im 44 years old and this chinese place has been open at that location ever since I can remember as a kid. It would not be open serving food for them many years if it wasnt good food.
