“After this place has been on “RVA Restaurants to Try” list for about 3 years, this was our first time eating at Fat Dragon, but it certainly not be our last! The wonton soup was the best my mother has ever tasted…keep in mind, she’s traveled all over the world. The ginger dressing was so delicious, I asked the server if they sold it in bottles. The garlic chicken and basil beef were both so tender and flavorful, I would highly recommend them both. And last but not least, our server was great! Do not wait to try this place like I did!!!! “I've been happily stopping at Hunan East, nearly every Saturday, to fill up a take-out tray from their buffet, which has many healthful options, with stir-fried meat and vegetables, all cooked just enough. “Excellent I’m a known chef visiting VCU in Richmond, Virginia and saw there were great Chinese places. Since 1981 I’ve loved however not found many legit shredded pork in garlic sauce dishes. They nailed it, this classic Sichuan dish . When she placed on the table I had flash backs to Houston Texas the last time I actually ordered the dish as every place did it no justice. If you’ve never tried its spicy, salty, little acidic. Steamed rice has to be and was perfect. I started with a great hot and sour soup and then the green onion pancake. The pancake golden brown, crispy, cooked perfect. The soup a great blend had me sweating. Only negative is I’m from Georgia.“

“This restaurant is the best Chinese food I've had in virginia. Family owned and operated for 32 years and the food exemplifies that. Dumplings were a family recipe that tasted amazing and the food itself has its own unique personality and character because of its long standing history. I would come far to have this food again. The only negative was that they were so busy in the kitchen I felt ignored in the dining room at times. I strongly recommend this place because it's different than what you may have had before.“

“We have ordered here for years and have always loved the food. It's generally our favorite Chinese in the area. Unfortunately the last 2 times we have had missing items. It wasn't a huge deal (especially the first time - just missing an egg roll) but today we were missing 2 egg rolls. I really don't like to complain but it seems they may be going down hill which I really hate. Please pay attention when packing orders and start checking everything before you leave!“

“This is a pleasant surprise… My wife and I are new to the area (6 Months) and over the past few months we have been in town have been trying places to compare to our classic back home “American style Chinese” favorites. This was a great meal. We called, placed to go, and drove 9 minutes to pick up our “ready in 15” order. The order was $52 for crab Rangoon, steamed pork dumplings (real dumps, not someone trying to pass Goyza off as a dumpling!) and 2 warm fresh egg rolls. The mains were General tso’ chicken and a happy family. One order white and one order fried rice. All were a great balance of flavor, meat, vegetables and sauce. We are extremely pleased with the overall experience and I recommend anyone looking for a quick filling meal show this spot some support.

If you want a full sit down with a perfect designed interior and a wait staff, go to Shortpump and pay for it.

“Living South of the river, I was pleasantly reminded about China Panda via the Sons of China Panda pop up this week. This morning, I got the egg tart, peanut silken tofu and mochi cake. I'm saving the egg tart and mochi cake for an after school treat sampling. The silken tofu that he said his Mom was up making overnight was simple, delicious, and a much more favorable breakfast than the typical simple carb or saturated fat laden fare common in our American diets and reflected in the offerings by local businesses. I got take-out, and I would definitely order from here again.“

I do not recommend the peanut noodles though. They are like spaghetti with peanut butter mixed in. Everything else we've tried has been really good. I like the cashew chicken, general tso's tofu, the egg rolls, egg drop soup, and the pork lo mein.“

Food and customer service has always been good for me. Bourbon Chicken and/or Black Pepper Chicken is what I get 80% of the time. Everything else I have tried has been good also. “The food was amazing. Fresh fried noodles, wonton soup, Double cooked pork, garlic pork. Here's the thing almost no restraunts in my experience make Double cooked (twice cooked) pork properly. I'm about to be 50. For over 30 years I have ordered this dish from nearly every restaurant trying to get what I remembered having in CT in the 90s from a local spot.

Most use slab roast pork from what seem like days prior. Small ribbons of cabbage.
This cabbage is large soft pieces almost velvety , garlicy spicy sauce, and most importantly the pork is fresh, succulent similar to the best moo shu. No description on the menu. You'd never know.

I look foward to the 40 minute drive from Crewe. This place is a hidden treasure off the main roads. Nestled in a community.
