“This place is so unassuming but so great! The staff we spoke to were lovely, so welcoming, and gave great recommendations. Such amazing flavours and everything tastes so fresh. The tofu lemongrass noodle bowl is delicious. The lemongrass pork banh mi is also fantastic. We had the peach tea and strawberry lemonade and took the advice to add bobas and lychee jelly.
Good portions - enough to be full but not so much that it feels wasted. Good prices too. We will be coming back to try more things!“

“Front counter staff is friendly and quick and if you've been there, you've likely met the owner, Olaf. He takes great care of his guests. The place is super clean with tons of seating. Clearly, everyone has found out about it because it's busier every time I go—and I almost always run into someone I know. But there's still plenty of seating. “I think I may have just found my new favorite coffee shop in Richmond!

First off, compared to other coffee spots in the area, this place is so affordable. For a French muffin with sausage and egg, a bagel with sausage, and two drinks, we spent just $20! At a lot of other cafes, breakfast and drinks for two can easily run close to $40, so this was such a pleasant surprise.

The shop itself is absolutely adorable. Warm, welcoming, and with plenty of seating both inside and out. The menu is simple and to the point, and I mean that as a huge compliment. You can tell every single item was chosen with care and made with quality in mind.

Now, the food… oh my goodness. The bagels are to die for, I don’t know if they’ve sprinkled magic into the everything bagels or what, but they were incredible. My husband had the French muffin and couldn’t stop raving about it. My matcha latte was perfect, and my coffee-snob husband said the coffee was excellent too.

And the outdoor seating area? Just such a vibe. Relaxing, charming, and the perfect spot to sip your drink and enjoy the day.

If you’re in Richmond, you absolutely have to stop by Black Hand Coffee. It’s the perfect combination of great prices, delicious food, excellent drinks, and a cozy, friendly atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!“

“I stopped by on my way to work and was not disappointed. The service was friendly and quick. I had a pain au chocolate and an iced coffee today. I do recommend it and next time I’ll sit outdoors and work on some stuff.“

“We have been here twice now, both times we were passing through on our way home from vacation. Their cheddar bay biscuits are AMAZING. I wish I had ordered extras to take home with me. My husband got the buffalo chik’n sliders from the refrigerated case and said it was SO good. My son got a huge piece of coffee cake and loved it. We also each got cheddar bay biscuit, and I also got a chocolate croissant and an iced chai. Everything was amazing! They also have a mini store front with lots of awesome vegan products. Candy bars, seasonal items, stickers, jewelry and lots more.“

“I bought some Dark as Dark from the grocery store! My wife likes dark roast! She usually uses a creamer. I drink mine black! This has to be the smoothest dark roast I have ever tried! I usually end up with a bitter aftertaste with the dark roasts I have tried so far. Not with this. We bought a grinder thinking that may be the problem but even with fresh beans lots of dark roasts still give that bitter aftertaste. This is tasty all the way through! I’ll be buying this from now on and I like the fact that we will be supporting a Va business as well. We will have to try out one of your locations in Richmond some time!“

You walk into the front door and you are awashed in the sweet smell of beans roasting....hard not to take your beans home immediately and brew your cup. The expresso bean in particular are great for expresso..Cafe Americano...Latte...or any other of your favorites.“

It truly had lump crab and lobster in the omelette some omelettes when you deal with seafood are skimpy with the crab and lobster, but hands-down Lulu was one of the best and their omelette was truly well done sometimes omelettes are not cooked all the way through. Java chip my favorite. Gruyere egg bites yum. Double smoked bacon ,cheddar and egg sandwich takes one back. Chocolate croissant you name it! No trip to Paris needed.“
