“Who would have expected fine dining meals from a small open kitchen (think pizza or sandwich shop style restaurant) with a few tables in a small strip shopping center in Great Falls, Virginia, but Thelo Greek Kuzina’s food was stellar. I could not decide what to get to take home for our family, so got way too much food for four people. Every meal, appetizer, and desert was delicious. we had the lamb shank meal, the New York Sirloin entree, Moussaka, Imam Baildi, lamb gyros, Greek salad, homemade potato chips (best ever), pita and hummus sampler, and more. Deserts were the lemon cake, apricot baklava, sour cherry baklava. Yeah we overdid it on our order, but we enjoyed a smorgasbord of delicious Greek food that made you think it was from a top 10 upscale downtown restaurant. “I remember when Opa opened probably 10 years ago or so and we made the trip to Ashburn to have gyros as I always liked a good gyro. I felt the food was good and always fresh and the service was always friendly and fast. Fast forward years later and we usually get our gyro/greek fix from Plaka these days which we really enjoy. Why do I bring up Plaka? To compare of course...The big difference I see between the two is the Chicago gyro at Plaka consists of chunks of cut/shaved pork so it's a bit different from your typical gyro meat which is what you get here. The Chicago gyro is still good here but better at Plaka. Only other comment I'll make is the gyros came out at room temperature...not hot, not warm...almost cold. I still ate it and we didn't complain but must note that. Overall, I support independent, family run businesses and I realize folks can have an off day. I am sure Opa puts out top notch food and excellent service on a regular basis but the temperature of the gyros on this trip warrants 3.5 stars. If we are in the area again we'd give them another shot as it isn't easy to have the ling term success Opa has had.“

“The Baklava was the absolute best I have EVER had! I also got the Anatolian appetizer plate for 1. It was a great way to try several different foods from the region and definitely worth trying. The Ceasar salad dressing is made in house amd VERY good as well.“

“This is a franchise with a limited menu. Cannot order any extra sides. Rice is bland and lacks sufficient spices. Take out is put in an aluminum tray with the fresh salad on top. After you get home the salad is soggy and unfit to eat. Minor changes will improve the experience.“

“I drove from 45 minutes away to try this restaurant as I heard such great things about it. I love Greek food, and was hoping that it would be worth the drive. I was SO pleasantly surprised that every single dish that I received was better than the last. I had the avgolemono soup, the spicy feta dip & the mixed sampler. every dish had so much flavour and the portions were extremely filling. I truly did not know that Greek cuisine could taste so marvellous. The service was great, I sat at the bar with the bartender. I think his name was Michael. he gave me great recommendations and we had a lovely conversation. I wish I lived closer so that I could visit this restaurant more often, but if I'm ever in the mood to have the best food, I will be making the drive back.“

“Wow what a deal! For $18, this buffet was very good. Several different beef and chicken kabobs were nicely seasoned and still very moist. They kept refilling the kabobs and other dishes throughout on a random Tuesday evening so that we had fresh food. The chicken curry and biryani were excellent, filled with chicken and spices. Once the meat sweats started to set in, they had fresh fruit and incredible flan. That was also when we realized that they kept filling up the buffet b/c it was almost sundown, when a mad rush of people came in about 30 minutes before they're supposed to close. It was very nice they are able to catered to them. Would absolutely return again.“

“Havabite eatery has the best chicken souvlaki and gyro sandwiches in Northern Va. We stopped in here not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised by how good the meals were. Most other places overcook the souvlaki meat leaving it dry but at Havabite the meat was tender and well seasoned and the bread was fresh and the tzatziki sauce was yummy and creamy. The only improvement would be on the baklava, which was on the dry side. We'll definitely be back for more.“

“My husband and I checked out this place for the first time after seeing that they host a 90s r&b brunch on Sundays. The inside aesthetic was a vibe and the DJ was playing a good mix of 90s and early 2000s music. They had a guy selling cigars on the patio and they also offer hookah.Food: The brunch menu is a different menu from their regular menu with a handful of brunch items (not much was Greek food which was a little disappointing) including bottomless mimosas. They offer three brunch pricing options and we opted for the $59 per person 3 course + bottomless mimosas. We received a bread and spreads board, one appetizer each and one entree each for this price plus a mimosa bar where they bring a carafe of champagne to your table and you make your own mimosa (or Bloody Mary) at their drink bar. They had a good choice of syrups, juices and fixins for a Bloody Mary or mimosa. We both ended up ordering the chicken and waffles which was a fried chicken breast on top of two waffles with butter and super diabetically sweet syrup on top of the waffles. I will say the meal was good, however the fried chicken (while fresh and hot) was a bit bland and needed the super sweet syrup or maybe hot sauce to add flavor.Service: service was alright in my opinion. The place was pretty empty and our server was very nice, however it was odd to me seeing our server as well as the other servers smoking hookah and chilling in the booths and tables like they were just hanging out. I do get that there wasn’t many patrons/customers so they didn’t have much to do, but I guess I would just rather not see it while I’m dining. At times our server took quite a bit to come back to check on us or take our other orders and it was mostly due to her talking and hanging out. The DJ and other guy (not sure if he was the promoter or staff) with him was extremely friendly and offered us drinks on him which was. A kind sentiment (we never got those drinks though lol).Overall, I think this place was really nice and I believe that they will improve once they have been doing the Sunday brunch a little longer. “I got catering from Mezeh for a Bunco party with 12 friends. Ordering online was quick and easy. The food was ready on time, and packaged very well so nothing leaked out of the containers. Everything was delicious, and my friends raved over the variety of dips and delicious pita chips. I appreciate that the food had great flavor and the chicken was cooked to perfection! I would definitely go to Mezeh again!“

“Cafesano is great. It is right near Lake Anne, giving it a beautiful view. I really like their pizzas, quesadillas, and kabob platters. Kabob platter is reasonably portioned, but the kabobs are really yummy and the rice is reasonably seasoned. Pizzas are nice and fresh. The homemade lemonade is also nice, with the right amount of tang and sweet. I would definitely come back here again.“

“I was looking for something new and different for dinner and discovered this little gem of a middle eastern / Mediterranean restaurant. There were many choices that made it difficult to decide. They also have large family platters which is convenient when ordering for the entire family. It is obvious this is a very popular place and you need to be slightly patient not only because of other orders in front of you but also because food is prepared fresh. The meats were very tender and full of flavor, taking me back to past trips to the Middle East. Salad was also very fresh along with rice that was cooked to perfection, not hard or mushy. The staff was very friendly and organized as you must be to run a high tempo restaurant. They do take quite a bit of pickup orders as well. “Finally got the chance to visit the Fairfax location. Little put off when I ordered the meatballs and was told the menu was wrong. Available protein items limited when compared to Cava and the portions were a bit small. However, the food was very good and their special lemonade is fabulous. So add some lamb and other protein options and add a bit more of the other items to increase the serving size. Good start. How about a location closer to Centreville?“
