“In my solo travels I passed The Great Machipongo Clam Shack. It looked really cute and I remembered my son and his dad mentioned they went there and said they loved it. So I decided to stop. As soon as I entered I loved the vibe. Behind the counter, there was a bumper sticker that said practice forgiveness. They had pictures of the Dalai Lama on the wall. They had peace, love, and clams painted on another wall along with Imagine. The staff was kind and attentive and made me immediately feel at home. I chatted with one of the employees named Lisa and appreciated the “love is the answer” bumper sticker she gave me as I left and will proudly display it on my car along with my other “hippie” bumper stickers. As I sat waiting for my food I enjoyed listening to music from the 60s and 70s. My food was brought to me by a woman that greeted me with a big smile. I was checked on a few times by the various friendly employees. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant. The food was great and I left feeling I had a wonderful experience.“

“A1 Seafood has fresh seafood, may I add and oh so delicious. The customer service is beyond amazing. My first time eating here was a few weeks ago while riding with my niece. I wanted seafood and I was not disappointed at A1 Seafood. The deviled crab eggs, the crab egg roll, the shrimp , omg fresh , seasoned just right and affordable. I will be stopping by when I visit my hometown ESVA. I give this place a ten out of ten easily .“

“I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! The shrimp was horrible and way over priced over battered, and fried too hard hell I cut the roof of mouth up eating that💩...how do you buy shrimp from a big box store and turn around and resell it..for 22$ 8 shrimp and fries the shrimp should have been peeled, deveined, butterflied,hand battered and drop in oil. I would not recommend this place. It's sad that the freakin locals thinks this place is good. I saw in another review the best thing they got was the cornbread. Two servers and one cook. not to mention it cost us 32$ round trip to travel on that tunnel/bridge. well you read my review....eat and spend your money at your own risk.“

“We were heading home from Cape Charles and decided to stop in!!! So glad we did! I got the special (Texas Taco Salad)…. The brisket was perfect and the chipotle aioli was awesome! Great place! Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area!!“

“We come every year and this year brings a new Chef and menu. We had the crispy flounder and crab, which had Old bay crust, summer succotash, arugula salad, lemon, herbs. It is absolutely delicious!!! Our server, Mike was attentive and made good recommendations. We would definitely have this meal again.“
