“Very popular lake on nice days with plenty of activities for families from fishing to hiking the trail, and Frisbee golf! The lake was designed for fisherman in mind so to be on the water with your own personal craft you are supposed to be actively fishing according to the regs, but they don't tend to enforce it anymore. I usually fish from my Kayak, but there are plenty of shore access places as well. Because of that this place is heavily fished, but if you have patience you can hook some big fish or spend a day with children catching numerous pan fish.“

This family run store is so inviting and kind, that even when it's busy, they still do their utmost to give the best 5* service to you and your family. This popular place can become packed from families getting treats and eats after sporting events or school things. Kids excited for the delicious cold sweets ride their bikes with friends to come visit, that nostalgic view makes me fondly remember when me and my buddies used to do the same exact thing. “This was my first time at Nathan’s Dairy Bar. I got the hot apples with pumpkin pie and graham cracker twist soft serve ice cream. AMAZING. quickly became one of my favorite soft serve spots in all the places I’ve lived (which is a lot). The ice cream wasn’t overly sweet but had a nice obvious flavor without that cloying fakeness ice creams often have. Partnered with their spiced, warm apples they serve on the side to avoid melting it was possibly the perfect fall treat. The apples were nicely cooked and slighhhtly crunchy while still being obviously stewed in the caramel and spices. They had a bold flavor that was again perfectly sweet instead of dripping in sugar. SO good.“

“If you’ve got a sweet tooth, Crumbl is dangerously good. The cookies are massive, soft, and served warm—basically a dessert lover’s dream. What really sets Crumbl apart is the weekly rotating menu. There’s always something new to try, from classic chocolate chip to wild, creative flavors like churro, key lime pie, or cosmic brownie. Some are hit-or-miss depending on your taste, but when they hit, they hit hard.

The presentation is also on point. The pink box feels premium, and the cookies look like they came straight out of a bakery photoshoot. They’re rich, thick, and shareable (though you might not want to share).

Only downside? They’re not cheap, and they’re definitely not “health food,” but for a treat, they’re worth every bite.

“I love it here it’s like child heaven, it’s so tasty and delectable. The slushy ice creamy texture is heaven like and the toppings with it are so tasty. The atmosphere is pretty good although they don’t have many seats inside, so if it’s a cold night or day than you will most likely have to go home to eat it or you could get a seat inside if they had one open. Overall I absolutely love Sweet Frog.“

We thought it time to check them out and went in. Unusual was what effectively was a hybrid store, serving a southwest Asian flavor influenced pallet of ice cream flavors seen first. For the uninitiated, we happily partook of the offered samples. A second freezer, and with its own board, had a good selection of standard flavors. We liked the flavors we tried, from both freezers, enough so we ordered two hand-packed quarts before we left. Still challenging to keep a business open - especially one that survives on frozen treats, through the winter. They do have a good line of ice cream, certainly on par with Baskin Robins, and they want to have happy customers. We are, and expect to return.“

“Definitely had a bad experience at Rita's. The servers are friendly, and there are a variety of options for gelatis and italian ices, including a root beer float. I like how you get to control the flavor experience you get, and the gelati is well-thought out because you can get the custard on top, and the Italian ice on the top, getting an even experience to try the custards and Italian ices. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone in the Fairfax area.“
