If you see it on IG stories, RUN to Goodies!! You won’t be disappointed. I’ve also tried the Nutter Butter sundae, many different donutwiches, banana pudding, peach cobbler and the Juke Box. All great choices.The kindest humans operate this spot and I can’t say enough about them too. Uncle takes his time interacting with each person who comes through and preparing their orders. Each time I visit I feel like more than a costumer, I feel like family. A moment I was particularly touched by was observing him hold space for a child paying on their own and listening as they excitedly shared their weekend. My heart melted. Children deserve to be seen as whole people. “Old Town Alexandria can be a tourist trap if you don't know where to go or access to the local-"in crowd" on where to go. I myself would confess to being a zombie tourist if it were not for all the crowd-sourced reviews and convenient map search features. This long-winded review intro is meant to steer you off-the-beaten-path, away from touristy stuff, and see what little shops lurk in the edges off *streets of royalty* ( ahem, I meant look at what's out there beyond King Street, Prince Street, or Duke Street ).And in the case of Casa Rosada Gelato, you would literally walk pass it given recent construction that forces the relocated front entrance to be hidden deep off some loading bay alley (the pictures says it all). The alleyway is almost 25 paces off the main street and there are no signs except for some Casa Rosada icon on paper taped to a plywood board where the front entrance would be. Had to band up with a visiting family of 5 to go gelato hunting for the front entrance. It's especially scary at night and yet so fun too given how dark the entire surrounding intersection block is with no cars or people in sight. But the gelato is good - way better than the throw-back-themed ice cream chain shops that promise to top sweetened air-filled cream (ie. normal ice cream) with rainbow covered sugar that's meant to distract you from all the air you are buying in your ice cream. With most gelato classic flavors available, we opted to go 'off-the-beaten-path' theme and go for walnut and madeira wine gelato. Tasting both flavors mixed was a symphony of flavors I doubt you can find anywhere else in this Old Town.“
“While staying in Arlington for work I met up with an old friend to catch up with over coffee. Three whistles is the perfect location to do just that. There is plenty of seating to accommodate multiple sized parties, and very large store front windows letting in plenty of light. I went on a Monday and there were also a good amount of people in there quietly working from their laptops, I assume there is WiFi if that is something you are looking for. we got a cozy corner booth and when you order the staff will deliver your food and coffee to your table. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte and a ham and cheese breakfast croissant. The coffee was pretty tastey, but nothing life changing. The hazelnut flavoring coming through was just the right amount not to over powering, and for my croissant was also equally delicious. They do theirs a little differently, the croissant itself is completely enclosed stuffed with ham and cheese. And there were plenty of other options if you are in the mood for something else.“
“My son and I ate at Bacio today and let me say we had a wonderful experience. We sat on the cute patio and it was so peaceful and quiet, you wouldn’t know you were in the middle of DC. The server was friendly and attentive. I liked the alcohol selection, and had wine. We enjoyed mozzarella sticks which we could tell were made in house and not just reheated from frozen like in most other places. The pizza my son got was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed my arugula salad with shrimp. I wish they were a little more cooked but that is a personal preference. The desserts very very good too, we really liked the limoncello raspberry cake. This humble little stall tucked in the back of Union Market has it all -- a delicious and perfectly crafted menu, friendly and efficient service, and simple yet adorable decor that creates a calming space in the middle of Union Market's bustle.They have a great selection of teas that includes both classic favorites like Thai tea or your basic milk tea, but also a smattering of exciting new flavors / seasonal specials like mango hibiscus or calamansi ginger. If you're anything like me and struggle to make even the most basic of decisions, their menu also features decision guides, listing out caffeine levels, flavor profiles, and a one-line "why you should pick this drink" for quickly comparing between different options.Regardless of which drink you choose, Spot of Tea is sure to satisfy any craving, whether it's for something rich and milky, fruity and refreshing, or just straight-up caffeine. It'll also include some of DC's best boba pearls, with the perfect chewy, QQ texture (or lychee jelly if you'd prefer). One of the reasons i love jeni's is because nothing there is overwhelmingly sweet. It's like the perfect amount of sweetness. This is my second time at this location, during the spring and summer the lines are out the door looped around the corner. Just came in at 430 and luckily was the only customer. The gal at the counter was nice, but so soft spoken I couldn't hear her well, but overall the people here are nice and to the point. They offer standard at two flavors, signature which is 3 flavors, and flights. They also do things by the pint, which I have found in stores as well. However these are made here, and packaged fresh. I'm glad I came across a jeni's here in arlington, first time I tried it was for a modeling gig and I was so stuffed having to shoot a million times I couldn't experience the flavors too well. “I have been a fan of Rita's for a few years and was excited to see one opening in Alexandria much closer to where I currently live than going to DC, Maryland, or other NOVA locations. It was even better to learn that they are a year-round open location. I have mainly ordered large gelatis and have had them both in-person and by Grubhub delivery. When I have been there in-person, the location is clean with some bench seating outside and the employees are friendly (one time I ordered for delivery and they promptly called me when the flavor I requested was out and I needed a substitute flavor). I have also ordered pup cups for my dog and they are a good size and reasonably priced. I recommend this spot for people who like Rita's or frozen treats, as they have a varied menu between the water ice, custard, and combinations of the two, along with milkshakes and more.“
“At the custard shack, you can have your custard and eat it too.My friend said I HAD to try custard at "a place in Belle Haven" after happy hour 10 minutes away. We got there around 7:15/7:30pm on a Friday night and there was a line of 5 people at the order line and a crowd near the pick up window. We had to wait a while to order and to get our orders but there was only one person working, and I felt so bad for her. She kept a smile on her face and was so pleasant, polite, and apologetic. Her demeanor made it so I didn't mind the wait too terribly--I felt too bad to be angry. We got the chocolate oreo and cookies and cream, and they were both amazing! I liked the cookies and cream a little better. From what I hear, they always have vanilla and chocolate and then they have a flavor of the week. They also have milkshakes, sundaes, sherbet. It's a shack and they do not have indoor seating. There are some seats outside but we ended up eating in the car because it was so cold. Oh--they have a parking lot but it was packed, took me awhile to get a spot by circling around and waiting. There were some cars who were parked on the street.“

This spot is located inside the far right interior of the block. The lines get confusing, but once you're in the back right corner, you'll see the register. Late at night, you won't have too many options for the actual snow ice cream, at least that was the case for my party of 3. Service was pretty fast considering how crowded it was (yes it's still packed at night!) the tables nearby were all taken, but any seat / table at the block is fair game at this hour. We ended up getting a milk tea and green tea mix base, with mochi x2, and condensed milk drizzled. For about $10-12, this was a refreshing dessert after a hot summer day of 94°F weather. The mochi was a nice touch at the top, and the tea flavored ice really tasted like boba but in shaved ice form. My only wish was that they add a TINY bit more condensed milk as a drizzle. Other than that, no complaints!“
“What I love about Sweet Berry are their eclectic menu choosings, such as their gelato, frozen yogurt, crepes, and waffles.Some of the frozen yogurt flavors are good, but others feel a bit too artificial tasting, such as the birthday cake. I personally prefer their gelato over the frozen yogurt, and highly recommend the cappuccino and chocolate gelatos. Their cookies n' cream gelato is nice. I also like their gelato crepes, and selection of savory crepes, such as the chicken florentine crepe and hearty omelet crepe. I personally also prefer gelato waffles, to give it the waffle some richness, but the fudge strawberry waffle is really good. Boba is a bit on the pricer side, and is decent, but there's definitely better boba places.“

It just didn't give that signature flavor. Since they are located at the same counter as the sushi restaurant, it doesn't really feel like a gelato or ice cream shop but that isn't a dealbreaker.
