There's quite a large selection of chocolates here and some are plant-based as well. The chocolate is pretty good from Venchi. You can order a lot more online as well. Flavors were great and they have a unique selection. It got pretty packed in the shop, so you will have to weave your way through customers during rush hours.

“The Dairy Godmother is an Alexandria staple. Our family has been going here for years. The custard shop has a variety of sorbets, three different custard a day, bakery items, and a fabulous sparkly wand for the dairy godmother in all of us. Another great thing about the Dairy Godmother is you run into many other community members here enjoying time with family and friends. You can enjoy your ice cream in the shop, out on the benches, walking the Mount Vernon Ave. strip or across the street where you can look at the different dog murals.“

“I was happy to find this wonderful place. I ended up having a taiyaki soft-serve ice cream. I took one of the swirl options, of which I had the pistachio and yuzu white chocolate. For both the taiyaki waffle and cone filling, I believe I had ube. Ube is a purple yam that is often used in Filipino cuisine. The consistency is a bit starchy and has a vanilla-like flavor. As far as sprinkles, I had matcha tea powder, and as a topping, I had an ube wafer. As for the interior of the building, the decor was very cute, but I seriously think the bathrooms could be made to look a lot more interesting by adding cute traditional decor and mural paintings! Other than that, everything was great! The service, the decor, and the food were all splendid.“

“I had the cookie beast sundae! It was delicious and I loved all the toppings they added to it. Cookie dough ice cream with two cookies, nuts, whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate drizzle! Tasted like heaven but didn’t stand a chance in hell against me. Loved it!“

“Love this place! They have great flavor options (I got chocolate) and lots of topping choices. The place was very clean and had lots of indoor seating options. It was super reasonably priced- probably the cheapest frozen yogurt I’ve had in this area. It’s a bit hidden in the back courtyard but worth the find. The owner is super knowledgeable and friendly! I would highly recommend stopping at Peachwave for a treat!“

It was my first visit here and our group tried the chocolate, pistachio ice-creams and a nutella hot chocolate (pretty average with nutella on the bottom of the cup). Her descriptions of items completely changed the dinner choices the three of us had after looking at the menu. Ty highlighted new items on the menu with nuance and apt descriptions. Ty answered all of our questions, paced the meal wonderfully, and ensured that our birthday celebration of a loved one was memorial. The food - a nice range of choices for cold and warm appetizers and mains and prepared with excellence.“

“Last year, I went with a friend on a night in April, and even though the weather was chilly, many people were waiting in line. I enjoyed the meal with my friend and children, but it was disappointing that the chunks of frozen fruit didn't break into pieces, perhaps because it was prepared by a woman. Still, I ordered 3 types and they were all delicious.“

I was very surprised at the variety of flavors, I chose Vanilla (I figured you can’t go too wrong w/ Vanilla), IT was Delicious, I can’t wait to try some of the other Flavors now, the Homemade Taste was awesome, the prices were great, the speed of service was marvelous( It was seemingly right during “rush hour”, there was a line, however, the line moved swiftly, the Helpers (Young Staff), was very flexible, friendly, patient, quick, on top of things and handled business very professionally. I was impressed. I will GO BACK and refer Friends and Family to my New Found “Custard/ Ice Cream” Place. It’s been kept a secret from me. Now I Know.“

- I ordered 2 scoops of Pistachio and Coffee&Cookie (both flavors are too sweet and too milky for me)
- A bit pricey with 8USD for 2 scoops.

“My wife and I stopped by here - had last ordered during COVID several years ago - an unhappy experience - who didn’t have challenges back then, when just staying open took hero effort?
We thought it time to check them out and went in. Unusual was what effectively was a hybrid store, serving a southwest Asian flavor influenced pallet of ice cream flavors seen first. For the uninitiated, we happily partook of the offered samples. A second freezer, and with its own board, had a good selection of standard flavors. We liked the flavors we tried, from both freezers, enough so we ordered two hand-packed quarts before we left. Still challenging to keep a business open - especially one that survives on frozen treats, through the winter. They do have a good line of ice cream, certainly on par with Baskin Robins, and they want to have happy customers. We are, and expect to return.“

“Very popular lake on nice days with plenty of activities for families from fishing to hiking the trail, and Frisbee golf! The lake was designed for fisherman in mind so to be on the water with your own personal craft you are supposed to be actively fishing according to the regs, but they don't tend to enforce it anymore. I usually fish from my Kayak, but there are plenty of shore access places as well. Because of that this place is heavily fished, but if you have patience you can hook some big fish or spend a day with children catching numerous pan fish.“

“Haagen-Dazs is probably one of the most expensive ice cream places that I have been to, almost $8-$9 after tax. However, what makes them stand out from other ice cream stores is that they don’t use artificial ingredients, and their ice cream is a bit bold and dense compared to other ice cream brands. I really like their Belgian chocolate, because of the creaminess, richness of the chocolate.

I would say the service is great even though there is usually a big crowd waiting for their ice cream, especially when it gets closer to closing time. However, regarding the atmosphere, it feels a little cramped to be eating ice cream, especially with such limited seating. The staff aren’t the friendliest and gave a bit of an attitude when I asked about nuts, with no clear answer, but it panned out because the ice cream actually didn’t have nuts.

Vegetarian options: Not clear on vegan options.

Kid-friendliness: could make more profits if they started selling kids’ sizes.“

“My second visit to a Jeni's ice cream shop!! Their signature signage caught my attention while I was at happy hour.

I rarely come to this area, so I had to stop even though I already tried it before. The staff was super inviting and friendly as soon as we walked in. They let us try a couple samples. I was a little overwhelmed due to zero capacity and didn't bother to read the flavors/descriptions. I asked the employee for samples of the 2 seasonal flavors (Bay Leaf Cheesecake and Sweet Potato Marshmallow Praline). While they both tasted like pure sugar, I chose the Bay Leaf Cheesecake. I ordered the smallest size, which was the kid's scoop in a waffle cone.

Their ice cream is definitely pricey, given the area (and probably insane rent!).“

“I love it here it’s like child heaven, it’s so tasty and delectable. The slushy ice creamy texture is heaven like and the toppings with it are so tasty. The atmosphere is pretty good although they don’t have many seats inside, so if it’s a cold night or day than you will most likely have to go home to eat it or you could get a seat inside if they had one open. Overall I absolutely love Sweet Frog.“

“It is rare to find quality gelato waffle place that is consistently great. The crepes are different, it is crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The frozen yogurt is better than sweet fr*g.
They both have sweet and savory options for crepes and cafe for coffee. It was a pleasant treat, even in the dead of winter, now that is saying something. Friendly staff too.

Dietary restrictions: Every Gelato flavor option had its own designated scoop, there also are clear allergen signs on the froyo.“

“Crumbl cookies are so good. The large ones are definitely worth 5$ a piece the mini ones are over priced.
