“Some of the best Ethiopian food that I have had, and I am a Chef and have frequented many Ethiopian restaurants in DC as well.
I ordered the veggie combo and each dish was layered with the perfect amount of spice, heat and salt. The injera was light and fluffy with the familiar tang of a good fermentation. I also ordered a glass of Tej (honey wine) expecting a store bought bottle but was pleasantly surprised with a house made 6 month old wine that was slightly effervescent with a balanced sweetness that went perfectly with the food.
I told the server how great the food was and the Chef personally came out to thank me and talk to me about how she prepares the food and even answered questions I had about how to prepare there Shiro wot(which was excellent) and where to buy the spices for it. Both the Chef and the server were kind and treated me so warmly I felt like family.
If you are in the mood for authentic Ethiopian food, please give this place a try, I promise that you will be pleasantly surprised!“

“Great spot in the middle of a sea of places to eat. Stopped by for happy hour snacks and left super full. The drink selections were fantastic, especially if you’re into Whiskey. Lots of tables mean you’ll always have a seat. We were lucky to have an amazing sever Elias who had a lot of personality and checked on us all the time and not in the “time to flip a table” you’ll see in other places. Definitely a must visit!“

Since I was dining by myself, I was seated at the bar on the first floor--which I don't mind as it provided me a nice view of the yakitori station. I visited on a Friday evening so it was a little busy, but since I was on the first floor the atmosphere was calmer compared to the second floor. Jack was the only server on the first floor but he was prompt with my orders as well as the other customers on the floor. I ordered the grilled large intestines/daechang with a side order of kimchi as well as a light lychee martini. I've had daechang before, but I gotta say the daechang over here just tops it. They're marinated in this addicting sauce and the intestines were grilled perfectly. That chewiness and greasiness I normally get from eating just one piece of daechang from anywhere else, I surprisingly did not get after eating a few pieces here. I definitely would go again and try out their other menu items, especially their yakitori!“

“Muy deliciosa! Don't be intimidated by the facade. The blacked out windows belie the bright, festive decor inside. We got a mix of street tacos that contained twice the meat compared to street tacos in comparable restaurants in the area. The hostess/waitress was very pleasant. “They were a little short-staffed, but I couldn't tell as far as the service. Our waiter was actually the bartender who was asked if he could help out, which he was happy to do. Despite working the bar and the dining area, he still managed to keep up fairly nicely. The one time he wasn't able to check on us, he sent someone else and she was just as nice. The food came out piping hot and it was delicious. The portion sizes were crazy!!! But, in a good way. Lol! All-in-all, zero complaints. Definitely would return if I'm ever in the area again.“
