“Food, service and atmosphere“

“I'm a server at the restaurant and have to say that it's a great place to work, and eat. I usually eat there on my days off because the food is ALWAYS delicious! Our cook, Shirley is the bomb! The food she cooks rival the best southern home cooking around. We pride ourselves on our food and service and always enjoy seeing new, and old, faces! Come on down and see us and let us feed you some tasty food and see what's it's like to get good service along with a delicious, reasonably priced meal. And yes, breakfast is ALWAYS available.“

“I had lunch with my daughter on Saturday... it was raining and messy out. The warmth of our server was just what was needed! We had the salmon tacos, fries(cooked to perfection) & THE BEST she-crab soup! The perfect place for lunch!!“

“We had dinner at Chef's Kitchen tonight, Feb. 21st. Our waiter Ben was amazing, as was the food. We started with the Burrata and Dumplings, both of which were mouth watering and glorious. My greatest fear is that those dumplings will haunt my dreams forever. I could probably eat them daily. I am telling you it was a religious experience. If not a religious experience then possibly a spiritual experience. I believe if Anthony Bourdain ate here he would have something pithy and wonderful to say. Something cultured and refined. For an entree we both had the braised duck gnocchi which was pillowy, creamy, and delicious. We paired the meal with a Cab Franc from barboursville which was decently priced and absolutely sublime. Give this place an opportunity. Eat here. My wife and I both agree that it is the best meal we have shared together in many years. Oh and ask for Ben and tip him well. He's the man.“

“Ate are the Midlothian location yesterday after a long day of appointments. It was our first time. The food and service were wonderful. We had the Romanian Steak and Chicken Kabob. Both were wonderful!“

“My teenage niece and I had a blast playing the new mini golf holes! The space theme inside is really cool, the topiary animals outside are neat and all the holes are quirky and fun! We played twice and had a nice lunch in between.“

“The food, as always was incredible and a good value - I had the baked shrimp Chesapeake, with tons of crab and shrimp. Delicious! The veggies were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Hanover Tomato Caprese salad was fresh and light. My only complaint was that the air conditioning units (not central air) were not working in some areas, which no one seemed surprised about. The banquet room in the front was much cooler but they said they wouldn't seat anyone there even though it was open that night. Leaving customers uncomfortable in a hot dining room when you have a large banquet room that's cool, does not feel like putting the customer first.“

“Stopped here for dinner while visiting Richmond to attend Latin Mass at the FSSP. Melito’s has a welcoming family atmosphere with good American fare affordable priced. Their specialty is Hot Dogs! But we had burgers and those were pretty good. Served on real plates (vs baskets). Frequented by locals - especially seniors, but all ages as well. Pleasant staff/servers and clientele alike! We will definitely return next time we’re in the area.“

“I have been to Caddies a number of times over the last few years. It’s a staple in the area and has been in business for decades. I recently visited since being back in the area, and can’t say enough great things! Holly was off that particular day, and the other new owner was very impressive! Her attention to detail, professionalism, and providing a comfortable atmosphere for every guest did not go unnoticed. The service was fantastic, food delicious, and the experience was inviting and friendly. Everyone was having a good time! Karaoke was so much fun! I’m not even close to being a good singer, yet the crown was so supportive and cheerful. The new touches to the building were very nice. Caddies isn’t just a dive bar. It’s a place where people of any age or status enjoy coming together and share great food, drinks, music, and the feeling of family the staff creates. Thank you Caddies!!“

“My wife ordered the 3 course meal. It was excellent and all she could eat. All the courses were 10 out of 10. The petite brownie sunday was larger than petite by a long shot. I had the full rack of baby back ribs special and a baked potato with sour cream and butter. The last 3 or 4 times I had the rib, they were perfect. The bones almost fell out with no meat attached. This time I ended up having to pick up the bones and gnaw some of the meat off. Before, I could surgically remove the meat and never had to touch a bone. They have the best baked potatoes I have eaten anywhere. The are perfectly baked all the way through.“
