“I’ve eaten here now 5 times. Gone for an evening date, family gathering of 8, and a regular dinner for 4 out and about in town. They can accommodate anything. The food is excellent, creative and unique. Staff is nice and helpful, and hardworking. This is a staple for me. Parking on the street hasn’t been a problem but also garages are available or uber if you are enjoying the neat drink menu.“

“Gem. We had kimchi patty melt. Dumplings. Goat cheese. Everything was exquisite. I am a diner patty melt purist... I generally object to patty melts that are not the 70 year old recipe. The kimchi patty melt actually gave patty melt and PACKED with layers of flavors. (A touch sloppy) Dumplings were delicious and flavorful and goat cheese was so insta worthy but I failed to let phone eat first . We are in the hood and have eaten here multiple times... Always upscale first class. The vibe at the bar is super hip. We have never been able to sit here until tonight. We don't come here enough it is such a fab place with a great creative menu.“

“I came from northern Virginia 3 hours away to visit Norfolk and we stopped by penguins in my opinion the mango flavor with mango pieces was the best combination out of everything.I recommend this place to everyone in Norfolk either live or visit penguins and they are way better than the slurpee at 7-11 cause they don’t have the natural fruit like penguins does.“

“Had to check this place out after seeing it on Triple D. Was worth the trip. Easily the best Cubano I’ve ever had, even after living in Florida for nine years. Food came out hot and fresh too. The fries tasted great with both garlic aioli and this hot persimmon lemon cranberry pepper sauce that was at the table. Will definitely be back if I’m in the Norfolk area again.“

A lot of the cats are chill and let you pet/play with them; the staff will let you know which ones are a bit more “selective”.

The chicken wings were cooked perfectly, even the fried rice was flavorful and not greasy at all. The service was fast and friendly. The staff greeted me with a smile and had my order ready in under 10 minutes. Everything was packed neatly and still hot when I got home.
Portions are generous for the price—definitely great value. I also appreciated how clean and organized the restaurant was, even during the lunch rush.
