“Stop what you’re doing and get the shakes… you don’t understand… get… the… shakes… all of them. Get the regular shakes, get the boozey shakes (if you’re old enough) for food, the Cubano is amazing, the Weck is very tasty. It’s an eatery done right.“

“Walked in and seated at the bar. I look up and see all of this allocated bourbon. I see they have chicken fried steak (my favorite). I of course order that and it surpassed all my expectations. The biscuit was nice and fluffy, the chicken fried steak was made to perfection, throw on top of that the sausage gravy and I was in literal heaven. The service is some of the best I have ever had. If you have not tried Buford’s biscuits you need to!!! I can almost guarantee everything on the menu is amazing!!“

“Great food, a lot of great variety here. The service was great, we were sat quickly, checked in on at good intervals, food came quick, and no issues with the orders. Portion sizes for some things were a little off for me personally, the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and the cajun chicken fettuccine both had a LOT of pasta with very little protein, but I'm a bit of a carnivore so I acknowledge that might not work for everyone. Great overall, a solid spot to grab some grub“

“Genuinely the nicest ever, Merinda is a standout! a cookie I was wanting to try was sold out and she remembered and included it the next week when I ordered! She provided an immediate resolution to a problem I had over the phone also, rather than directing me to a customer support chat. I haven't been in person but I know it would be amazing from the customer service alone and I've never had a problem with cookie texture here!“
“We have been members here since this winery opened and remain loyal for a reason. The wines are among the best in Loudoun, hands down. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. No snobbery here! PJ, the owner, makes everyone who comes in feel welcome and valued. We recently rented the downstairs event space and it was perfect! Nicely set up with private restrooms.“

“I really enjoyed my maiden journey to the Mill. The service was impeccable, and the seating arrangements, where tables were properly spaced, allowed my lunch companion and me to have a good conversation without raising our voices. That being said, the food was the star. The gazpacho was superb, the bread was excellent, and the sandwiches were top-notch. We will be returning with our respective spouses.“
“This is such a wonderful brewery. I love the raddler, seltzer, or gose, my husband prefers the more traditional German beers. You can bring your own food in, or enjoy a soft pretzel. They're dog friendly indoors and out which is nice. They also have a nice small front patio and then a bigger outdoor area kn the back. The staff are very friendly as well.“

“First visit today. Lovely venue. Nice wine and food. Kids and pets…witnessed a couple with 3 dogs who had no control over them. One pet fight with another dog guest. Then witnessed a small child having her hand bitten by one of the dogs. I hope the owners of the winery have sufficient insurance to allow anyone…especially children and babies, and dogs to enjoy the venue. Great to be family and pet friendly…but is that a wise business decision? Not sure that alcohol, children and pets are a wise and safe business practice…what happened to baby and pet sitters for an afternoon out?“

“This winery is great if you are looking for a good wine and peaceful place. It’s small but it has a great atmosphere. Their wines are excellent! I love their wine and chocolate praline tasting. We like this place for birthday parties as well as it’s usually not too crowded. Their outdoor is large with many places to sit. The indoor is small with just few tables. But as I mentioned, most of their members typically pick up their wines to go so it’s never an issue to find a spot to sit. The only negative thing I can say is that my kids don’t love going there because it’s not much to do for them, and the parking lot could use a bit of love. But we are members for about 6+ years and we truly like their wines. My family makes wines in Slovakia and I took them there as well and they enjoyed their wines a lot as well!“

“Fun, comfortable place to stop in for a tasting with their knowledgable staff -- try everything, even if you don't think you like whiskey or gin. Everything is very drinkable (especially the Honey Hot Whiskey) and we always end up bringing a few bottles home.“
“Old 690 is definitely hard to find, but most definitely harder to leave! Great everything! Beer, food, friendly staff, ambiance, easy going atmosphere, you name it! “Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.“

“The best! They get their salmon fresh everyday and you can tell. Watch the sushi chefs - 6 guys behind the bar working constantly when they are busy. All of their food tastes so fresh and tasty. And their cocktails are delicious! Staff is generally super fast. I eat a lot of sushi and this is by far my favorite place!“
“A lovely collection of white wines. The unoakef Chardonnay was my favorite. Several wooden picnic tables in a quiet backyard surrounded by trees. The vineyard dog is as sweet as she can be. And, yes, it's a dog-friendly vineyard of course. I would definitely return.“

“We discovered Barnhouse Brewery through Harvest Hosts while looking for a place to stay halfway between DC and Harpers Ferry after spending a beautiful day viewing the cherry blossoms. What a great find!
This family-owned and operated brewery truly stands out. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. The beer selection is excellent—especially if you enjoy dark beers—but they also offer great German styles and IPAs, so there’s something for everyone.
The setting is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by peaceful countryside that makes it a perfect spot to relax and unwind.
We will definitely be making a trip back soon!“

“Below is part of the review written by our guests after our tour-visit to Wheatland Spring Brewery:
“Our second day focused on history and craft beer. Once again, we had personal, curated experiences, but the highlight was Wheatland Spring Farm + Brewery. If you love craft beer, this place is truly unique. They produce estate beers — meaning 100% of the ingredients are grown on the farm, including yeast collected from their fields. The beers were outstanding and unlike anything we’ve had before. Carlos arranged a private tasting in their loft above the brewing barn. Their barrel‑aged stout was the best I’ve ever had”.

Our guests had an absolutely wonderful experience, and from the moment we arrived, everyone felt genuinely welcomed and exceptionally cared for.
Please extend our gratitude to the entire team, especially to Joey who took care of us. His tremendous hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail created a very emotional & meaningful experience.
I truly can’t thank you all enough for helping make the day so memorable.
