“I came in here with a large group of friends (12+) and they were super accommodating to our size and extended the kitchen hours to feed us! They gave us free coffee and fandisha (traditional popcorn) to finish our night -- everyone was full and happy by the end of the night! Great atmosphere, very kind staff, and delicious and affordable food (I'm Ethiopian, I know the good stuff)! The community is lucky to have this spot so accessible. :) A place people need to be supporting!“

“I used to come here on a regular basis when I lived in Seattle, before the name change when it was called Chef Cafe. I still dream of their gomen— it’s perfectly garlicky and so flavorful. It was a family owned business and the main chef, whose name I don’t recall, used to be a private chef for imperials in Ethiopia. This family was always welcoming, kind, and warm. I pray this restaurant is still under the same ownership using the same recipes!“

“My first time dining at Kezira Cafe was an absolute delight!
Regina was incredibly welcoming and provided top-notch service. She was so kind to feed us after hours, when the band had finished their show at a nearby place.
The food was bursting with flavor! Spices I have never experiened before.
You can tell everything is made with love. The atmosphere is cozy, culturally rich, and incredibly clean. I highly recommend to anyone craving authentic, African cuisine. It’s a wonderful hidden gem in Columbia City!“

“Ahadu has fresh, delicious, healthy food! Prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Addirionally, they are one of the only Seattle Ethiopian restaurants that makes 100% teff injera, allowing this gluten free Celiac to eat safely. Thank you, Ahadu!“

“Sometimes it's hard to see this place driving down Rainier, but you can smell the goodness coming out of here. The patio was packed with locals from the East African community, and not a single hipster in sight, so I HAD to check it out. Glad I did. Took home some amazing spicy lamb tibs and it was so good I just had to take my partner here for dinner a few nights later. She was impressed as she ordered what I had the last time, and I had the Keye Wott (which was nice and spicy but not too spicy). Looks to be a family run joint, and the staff just loved that I came back and brought my partner here. Highly recommended.“

“Incredibly flavourful dishes. We particularly love the spiced sambosas. Our usual order is the mixed vegetarian plate - my partner also rates the lamb tibs and wot beef. The injera is always fresh, the owner is friendly and welcoming. We've visited countless times and will come back again. A local gem.“

“I just went to Paradise Restaurant for the first time, and it’s my first time trying East African food. I had #1, goat with rice and a little salad. I loved it! It’s smoky, spicy and feels nourishing.
The owners of the restaurant are very sweet! They were patient with me as I learned how to say thank you in Swahili. It feels like a place where people come when they want a taste of home that you can’t get anywhere else. I’ll definitely be back to try everything else on the menu.
Asante!“

“Incredible food, friendly staff and just an amazing overall atmosphere.
We had the combo meat platter and the combo veggie platter split between 3 people. We left with what felt like 5-7lbs of amazing leftovers. The price is very reasonable for the mass volume of food you get.
Ditch the traditional western garbage and try this gem out!“
“I will be making my first Ethiopian dish and came here for a couple items that are hard to find elsewhere. Injera and fenugreek seeds. The lady working today was very friendly and helpful, as the fenugreek was in a ziploc bag and not labeled. The injera looks very good and has a nice color to it. Not much parking out front so I parked next door and walked over. Great little market, just research what you need ahead of time so you know what to look for since many items are not labeled. Good prices too! 3 large injera and the bag of fenugreek is bursting at the seams. Just $10. I will come back for more authentic Ethiopian ingredients!“

“Just grabbed lunch at that place on S Mead St. It was packed, seriously long wait even though the menu looked pretty simple. The food was decent, portion size felt a little small for the price. The staff were all super nice, even though they seemed a bit overwhelmed. Maybe a few more tables would help!“

“Just had dinner at Momona in WA 98118. It was really busy – had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The staff were so friendly, almost like family. I got the salmon and it was seriously amazing, really flavorful. Portions were good value. Just a heads up, double check the hours online, Kenny mentioned they were closed on Sunday even though the website said they were open!“

“Wonderful Ethiopian & Eritrean food with excellent vegan options. We shared the lentil sambusa and a vegan platter, and everything was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The injera was perfect, and each dish had its own distinct spices and textures. Don't miss the traditional Jebena coffee service… it's a lovely experience and well worth it. We also tried the homemade treats (maybe not vegan?), which were absolutely delicious and the perfect finish to the meal. Warm hospitality, fantastic food, and a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! Updated from previous review on 2026-06-26“

“Stopped in around 12:30 am on a Friday morning after flying in from MPLS. Mersab also known as hunny (forgive my spelling) was very accommodating and kind with her service. The atmosphere is also spectacular and I wish we had a place similar back home with just as good of food! Hoping our schedule allows us to come back before we head home.“
