“One of my favorite restaurants in West Seattle. The Chinese food they serve here is absolutely incredible for a bar. I also love the interior styling to make it look like a tiki bar. The drinks are colorful and come in fun glasses. The bartenders are also great“
“I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years and I’ve gotta say I’ve never had any issues at all. Calling in for takeout takes roughly a minute to finish ordering and I normally only wait 15 minutes at the absolute most. Despite other reviewers, when I dine in the same server who’s been there since I’ve been going is always professional and welcoming and has never shown any attitude towards me or my friends/family. I always go here to get my monthly pho fix and it’s always the same. That’s something a lot of places never do. Consistency is what I like about restaurants. Never worse. Never better but I’ve tried the popular spots in places like Seattle and Renton but they just don’t do it like this place, so I’m going to assume this is the best I can get. This might sound like someone who works there is typing this and I know I can’t prove it’s a real person but I guarantee I’m not some paid actor. This place gets a bad rap but I’ve never had any issues. Maybe that’s because I’m not some self-entitled brat. Ordering food isn’t hard. You should know you what foods you can and can’t eat before you even consider going into an unfamiliar restaurant. Google is free. Do your research before you judge something. 10/10 please don’t leave I don’t like Pho Golden haha.“
“The service is excellent and the food is always ready within estimated time. The food itself is pretty good. Parking can get tricky when it's busy though, so easier to maneuver with a smaller car.The fried gyoza are crispy and delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. I think the California roll was good, but maybe a little too much mayo for my liking. Chicken katsu was very good and had great portions. Now the spicy teriyaki was good as a dish itself, but it doesn't taste like teriyaki. Usually chicken teriyaki uses the sauce, but spicy. Again, it was good as I like spicy food but it did not taste like teriyaki sauce so it didn't really have sweetness, just spicyness. The fried rice that I added with it was actually quite good pairing though and balanced it better than white would have.Overall, great place and I'll likely pass by again and give it another shot!“
“Have had a few amazing nights going to this restaurant the food is delicious the staff is very nice sometimes it takes them a bit to awnser the phone but its very worth it if you havent tried their food do it!! My favorite dish they have is the chicken and mushroom teriyaki its almost like a soup, and when you put it in rice, it is a meal sent from the gods ? keep up the amazing work you do!“
“Myself and my family at large have been going to this restaurant for decades and the quality and service that this restaurant has provided has remained the same throughout the years. The food I just had today is just as tasty and what I remembered it to be when I was a kid way back in the 90s. Golden star is a restaurant that can be easy to miss and it truly is a gem in this area. I don't think I could recommend this restaurant more if I tried.“
“I regularly order takeout from here and it's only ever been on-point. The orange chicken is honestly fantastic and always served to me hot and with a smile on the face of whoever hands it off to me during pickup. I've never seen anyone eating in but I imagine things have shifted since COVID became an issue so I don't think I can speak on that. I'm truly happy this business exists so close to my home.“
“Delicious spot for Chinese-American fast casual food, perfect for a date (or a family outing, in my case)! Beautiful atmosphere and view, and quick and polite service. I recommend spending a couple of minutes just appreciating the decor. This is my favorite Chinese-American restaurant in Kitsap!“
“FOOD- great many selections. I enjoy the food when I go. Sometimes there are off days for the food but still not bad. Never go wrong with there hot teaRESTAURANT- relevantly clean, but very loud, there are bathroomsCUSTOMER SERVICE- relatively fast at getting you seated and getting your drink, though when busy they can mix up or mess up your drink order. Great at reading body language knowing when a customer is done eating and ready to pay and leave.Parking: Parking is okay, but can fill up fast. Only 4 handicap parking spots but it's a tight fitKid-friendliness: Great for pick eaters. They can choose what they want from many options. They have bosster seats or hair chairs available“
“Our new go to place, so happy we found it! The prices are a bit steep at first but they give you huge portions so it's really not bad. The food has been consistently delicious (we've been 4 times now), I recommend the salt and pepper wings, orange chicken, kung pao beef, and pork fried rice! While those are our favorites, we've also never experienced a single bad thing so give it a try.“
“I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience there. I had never been in before and went in yesterday for a late lunch. The service was prompt and helpful. I ordered three things, knowing I would take home leftovers. Everything was delicious. The tempura shrimp appetizer was done perfectly. The moo shu chicken was amazing. The only less than perfect thing was the broth on the wonton soup, as it seemed a little bland; today, however, it is very flavorful. I paid $35 for what is going to turn out to be at least three meals, possibly more. I will definitely go back.“
“A wise TikTok once said: "if a Chinese restaurant has 3.5 stars, that means it's good and authentic". I don't know how authentic the food here is but it sure is good. I always stick with the beef dishes, cause they never miss. Mongolian Beef is great and basically everyone would like it, and I love the Sichuan Beef even though it's an acquired taste and a lot of the people here on Bainbridge (if you catch my drift) won't be fans.“
