The bread was very hearty, not shy on the sourdough, had crisp edges but not too hard, soft inside.. pretty close to perfect! Freshness didn't seem to dwindle much until day 4 stored at room temp, so you can probably get a week out of it without freezing. At a glance, several other non-bread items in the pastry case looked good, with both sweet and savory options. I think they serve sandwiches/pizza, too. I'm intrigued enough to try some more things the next time I'm around, and I'll definitely order another loaf.“

I chose a variety of items to try, the regular croissant, the chocolate hazelnut croissant, the pan au chocolat, and the Kouign amann. Each and everyone of them was amazing. Perfectly flaky and soft all at the same time, the flavors out of this world.“

“I am from Europe and both me and my wife consider Grand Pere Bakery the best French pastry bakery we've seen in Seattle so far. In particular, the pastries are just perfect - airy/fluffy and not over-buttered. In particular, just try to the plain / "butter" croissant - it is just right, not greasy, perfectly baked. Most other pastry shops around here put way too much fat in their pastries so they are too greasy and heavy. Their Danish pastries are great too. “Just about everything is frozen (which is understandable given how quickly GF stuff goes bad) however don't plan to come here to grab much in the way of items for a brunch the same morning.
Otherwise, there is quite a variety of items and the couple I tried were pretty good. The freezer could really do with some labels on the outside, otherwise you just have to stand there holding the door open and rifling through stuff to see what they have, especially if you've never been before.
I also heard they are changing their name from the cute "WildFlour" to "I Cant Believe It's Bread" and I think it's a poor choice that they should've done a focus group on before deciding. First one is cute, whimsical, gives you the idea it's a bakery, etc... new name is off-putting, an entire sentence, and associates it with hydrogenated vegetable oils that Big Food marketed as a health product to sell secondary processing products decades ago🤷🏼‍♀️

“This is a hidden gem - a true European bakery led by a Cordon Blue certified patisserie. From the fresh baguettes, rye to the Napoleons and Ein Berliner filed with crème brûlée - it is all delicious. GMO ingredients, true homemade yeast and a lovely owner. “My family is from Northern Ireland, we have loved visiting the British pantry for over a year regularly until recently. While I would recommend the food store attached and the food in the restaurant the wait staff, 2 women in particular have been so rude to me and to my small children, multiple times! At first I thought I was being over sensitive, maybe they were having a bad day but it's happened 3 times now. My children are very used to restaurants, one has severe allergies so we always bring stuff for them and the other is nero-diverse and struggles to accept food that looks different than the previous visit etc. While other restaurants have been amazing with our kids, these two women have always had something judgmental to say. We typically buy our kids something from their attached store and have them eat that in the restaurant but on our last trip one of the ladies felt the need to tell my 5 year off for eating food that wasn't from the restaurant! I repeat she spoke directly to my 5 year old and scared her, all because she was eating a treat bought in the attached store! I have spoken with the owners daughter on one of our first visits and she said it was absolutely fine! Asides from these two servers attitudes towards my family they act as if we are an inconvenient to them. Everyone who works there has been wonderful, especially the young fella who typically works in the store, my children think he's so fun and sweet, he always takes a moment to chat with them, and a young girl who gave my daughter she water in a teapot with a teacup because she was a princess 😍😭 anyways if you made it through all of this thank you! summary food is good, but we will avoid it until two servers in particular are not on shift or have left 🫠“
