“Went there to support my friends band that was playing there. I ordered a Jamison Manhattan. It was one of the skimpiest pours I've seen but that wasn't an issue. When I asked the price $28!!! That's twice the price of the Space Needle let alone a Des Moines dive bar.

Edit: Heard from one of the band members that the insane prices had been adjusted. I made a return visit and the prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was quaint and comfortable and the music was great. I plan to return.“

“I happened upon this food truck by luck. I had never tried Somalia cuisine before, and was curious First I was greated by friendly smiling faces that made me feel immediately welcomed. They handed me a menu, with pictures, that I could look at without staring at the menu board. I decided on a Sambusa as an appetizer because it looked and sounded like a Samosa. My entree was a Bariis chicken bowl with a side salad. It was fabulous! The Sambusa was shaped like a Samosa, but different. The pastry was delicate like a puff pastry and the filling was simple lean ground beef, served with mild or spicy dipping sauce. The Bariis chicken bowl was flavorful, fresh and full of flavor. Perfectly balanced. I will look for this food truck again.“

“This is by far the best taco truck I’ve ever eaten at!!! There are so many options, especially for vegetarians- their veggie tacos and mulitas are so delicious and flavorful! Normally it can be hard to find a taco truck with a truly delicious veggie taco, but this truck seasons their veggies really nicely and has a full blend of potatoes, mushroom, onions, and bell peppers that make the tacos super filling and SO tasty!!! Their salsas are also really yummy. I highly recommend paying a visit here!! Very vegetarian / vegan friendly and so worth it!“

“Came here post work out and I was impressed. I asked whether the torta was big and was rold no but it came with alot of meat and she wasnt lying. The torta was delicious the beans weren't refried which I appreciated. And it came with fresh sliced avocado it looked dlike I got half of one medium avocado.
My husband had yhe tacos and while he said the flavor was good the meat was a little dry. But the salsa made up for it. The hirchata was also delicious. It had the authentic powder remnants at the bottom only real home made horchata has. Will definitely visit again.“

“I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, this place is wonderful!!! The staff are super friendly, the food is out of this world, the atmosphere is crazy fun, and it's celiac safe with only a couple menu items that can't be made gluten free! They have video games to play, a small mini golf area, all kinds of toys, games, comic books, and a whole section for Pokémon cards. Even their prices are incredibly reasonable on everything they sell. We will definitely be back!“

“Food is super tasty, fresh , fast and satisfying. However, I have had issues with add ons. If I pay for an add on I expect to get enough. I've added avocado and litteraly got one slice. I've added sour cream and got less than teaspoon in a huge burrito. Other than that, I love this truck and will keep coming back because it is delicious and convenient! Just won't pay for add ons anymore.“

“It's a food track on a parking lot with a few tables under a tent. So, if the atmosphere is what you are looking for, look elsewhere. But if you want a grab of delicious and authentic Mexican food on, say, a way to White River Amphitheatre, then you are in luck! You found it.“

“Quaint little food truck with a lot to offer. Quality of meat is better than most of my go-to places. There specialty seems to be borrego which i had to try. Ordered there tacos de borrefgo special which was 4 tacos with consume on the side. They came with a great amount of very tender and flavorful meat. The borrego was prepared perfectly which had no gamey taste with the perfect amount spices. My only gripe was that there salsa was not spicy enough but the extra Chiles they gave me on the side made up for it. Do not pass this place up next time you are driving down Central in Kent. I cant wait to go back and try other things on the menu.“

“The Velas run an outstanding operation here. The food is always excellent, the portions are huge, everything is fresh, and it's consistent with each visit. They are so nice and friendly. The kindness and love they show you is cooked into the food as well. Authentic Mexican cuisine through and through. Once in a while I'll get the hot dog or burger, because its better from there than when I go to actual hot dog and burger spots. This spot just doesn't disappoint. We have a little event coming up and we're going to have them cater it because we know it will be a hit. We're excited to have them all to ourselves for the day 😁“

I will warn you however if you're expecting quick food you'll be there chillin for a few minutes while uncle is making your food up there.
The tacos where good but not very impressive.

“This place is the best! The food is truly excellent—we had a quesadilla with lengua and a burrito with Al pastor, and both were great. The lengua was super tender and delicious and the Al pastor was perfectly seasoned. The proprietors are lovely and happy to let us practice our Spanish! 😃“

“Best taco truck chicken around. Good taco chicken is a lacking skill in the PNW. This place knocks it out of the park with well flavored, juicy, tender, shredded chicken. I’ve tried almost all the meats here and the chicken is on top. Burritos are rocking with default bonus accoutrements stuffed inside like FRESH avocado and pickled jalapeños. Available side salsa are meh, but completely unnecessary, tacos and burritos are great as-is. Taco meat ranking IMO: Pollo, Carnitas, cabeza, leguna, asada, al pastor.“

“I ordered 2 tamales, one red one green, a mesquite, and chicken nachos. By far my favorite nachos, the chips are homemade and were fresh. The chicken had good flavor and seasonings. The tamales taste like the kind my Mom and Tias used to make and had good flavor. The mesquite was prepared very well, a good sized portion and again tasted authentic. I would recommend and can't wait to eat there again.“
