“Picked up the bulk office takeout order and overall this was a 4. Outdated building that has an odd smell when you come in and could use some love to the interior, but very fast and friendly service. Good sized portions but as another reviewer mentioned, sauce was a bit on the skimpy side compared to in the past - seems like an odd thing to cut back on. Delicious flavor on the chicken teriyaki and gyoza - would recommend!“

“Absolutely amazing, hands down the best sushi we have had. This is a one man operation and honestly, I don’t know how he does it. All of the fish is flown in from all over the world and is the absolute best top notch quality. Follow his IG to see when reservations drop. You’ll have to book a couple weeks out but it’s worth the wait! You’ll preorder your food while making a reservation as well.

Other notes: pretty easy to find street parking in this area of Kent, we’ve never had an issue. Enter right at your reservation time, no earlier. It’s an intimate space best for couples and small groups.“

“Each time I go here I get the spicy tonkotsu ramen. The char siu is perfectly grilled so you can taste the carmelization. It is bad etiquette to take out your phone when there's hot ramen on the table so I don't have photos, but trust me.“

“First time eating at Nami Sushi, and it did not disappoint! We ordered the small boat, which has 20 different items in the boat and 3 different kinds of rolls. We also ordered the tempura calamari and Agedashi with a side of Japanese beer (large bottle of Asahi). The wait staff are attentive and checked on us multiple times. “Wow! I wish I found this place sooner. Lunch special is $15 for gyoza + chicken teriyaki combo +drink. Best Gyoza I have had. nice and crispy on the outside, and large pieces. Chicken is great quality. ( Not chewy like some places!) and the sauce is sweet, but not too sweet. Also love that they spend the extra money on Compostable cups. Better to give your business to an environmentally friendly business. Place was spotless and owner was so nice. I will be back! Can not wait to try their other dishes.

“Absolutely loved the sushi belt. Only reason I gave the food 4 stars is because some of the items on the belt were a little old. The service was amazing. I believe my server’s name was Levi. He was very attentive with all the customers in the restaurant and we had some good conversation as well. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.“

“This is my go-to place, they've never disappointed me. I usually get take-out but anytime my husband and I have gone in we get great service and they're so friendly and sweet to us. I'm a BIG fan of their bbq pork fried rice, sweet n sour chicken, house yakisoba, sushi, etc... it's hard to go wrong here. I always appreciate the artistry that the older lady rolling the sushi puts into her work. I will say that there is currently a mob of people trying to drag this business down with 1 star reviews in reaction to an unverified Nextdoor post complaining about treatment here that I find to be completely out of character based on my own frequent visits. “We went to visit Sumo Japanese restaurant for the first time after church service. The food and the service were great. I highly recommend this restaurant and the robots service was a great touch.“

“The food sushi at this place is legit amazing. It's the real deal, and if you're in Tacoma, want great sushi, you should totally go.

But here's what happened to me. I just wanted a light dinner, a one single roll (the Geshi roll—so good), a salad, and some miso. Communication with waitstaff isn't always solid so I pointed to the roll I wantedT. he waitress said the name of a different, way more expensive roll which I said no too and reiterated just the the one Geshi roll.

When the food came, she brought out my Geshi roll... (again, really good) and the roll I didn't order. I tried to talk to her about this but she just pointed at her notepad showing that she wrote down two rolls so that what my order was. Like I said, communication ont the best, it was super awkward and I didn't have time to argue.

So I ended up paying double what I wanted for dinner because of this. I was too full so I left it left it untouched. It was too hot a day to have raw fish sitting in my car for hours.

It's a bummer because the food itself is a solid 10/10. But the experience was such gut punch and awkward that I won't be going back, which sucks. It's great food, just triple-check your order before she walks away.“

I didn’t order the combos on purpose but who knew the Japanese food and Chinese food complimented each other very well. Talking about a great service, my wife order the sesame balls for a dessert. 2 of 5 were a bit under cooked somehow. We broke them a part but didn’t eat them. One other staffs walked by and asked if we didn’t like. My wife told her those 2 seemed like they are not full cooked so we didn’t want to eat them but we are okayed. She then insisted that she asked the chef to make a fresh batch of 5 for us. This time they were perfectly cooked. I was impressed with her and felt very appreciative. “1st let me say..had food twice, once from order service and other in person. Both times the service and food were great! The manager is very nice and respectful along with the staff. The funny differences from other sushi restaurants are the fact you have to order everything by QR code ( so if you want a mobile device free night..not gonna happen) and your order comes via a robot! Now that I found funny because I kept on despite directions from the “robot waitress” trying to take food from the other shelves until I got used to things. Speaking on getting “used to”..try maybe 1 or 2 times order something small to get used to how the quantities are served. My friend meant to only get 2 of something and ended up with 3 and I had to eat the extra 1 for respect of the dining rules “whatever is left when you are done you must pay for”. Now the “all you can eat” bit. Please understand that the food here is really good and that they offer quite a unique variety of items to try and eat. That is the meaning of the “all you can eat” here. This is not a legit “all you can eat” restaurant . For $30 you are getting way good quality..so do you want good quality or high quantity? In this tight market you can’t really get both. So please be mindful & respectful of this. They do sadly have techniques to let you know when you are reaching “their” maximum..and after much thought…I can respect that. Overall the food, service and everything else was excellent. I ate mostly the sashimi which I thought tasted fresh and buttery when needed to be and when ate rolls I had the rolls that were cooked and those were handled expertly. My friends had the coconut shrimp which was the favorite for them and such like items. One said the ribs were tough and the fried rice was too hard. Overall I will return and be more “menu venturing “ knowing that there is actually a limit. Again..out of respect, please respect quality over quantity.“

“I've ordered once in the past when this place first opened and never went back because the quality of the food. I decided to give this place another try and I'm glad that I did. I assume it's new owners now or they've changed the way they make their food. This place is fire! I ordered take out a few times in the past couple weeks. “I tried Musashi for the first time and it was alright! I got a chirashi bowl which ran to $20 after taxes. It was a pretty small bowl but it was decent. It wasn’t the best chirashi bowl I’ve ever had nor would I come back here for it. It was nice to try a new restaurant but it wasn’t anything too crazy or extraordinary. There are about only 4 tables inside so it’s definitely not like a “dine-in” restaurant. The majority of their orders are to-go’s. It was a bit difficult to locate the restaurant as it’s clumped with the apartments.“

“Nice atmosphere, appealing food presentation, friendly staff. Minus one star because the portions are WAY bigger than they need to be. My husband ordered a bento box and was able to finish less than half of it. I got a single roll and had to force down the last two pieces. Smaller portions with decreased price options would’ve made the overall experience more enjoyable, as we could have left satisfied rather than stuffed.

If you’re looking for a large, filling meal, then by all means 5 stars! It just didn’t match our personal expectations/needs on that front. :)“

“Our chef was quiet and difficult to understand. Not much showmanship while the customers and chef behind him were loud laughing and having a great time. Juggling fire and the works. We felt a bit let down especially after dropping a couple hundred bucks on dinner. 😒“
