“This place is next level. It's the most intimate setting I've had the privilege to go to. The food was unbelievable and the chef was incredible. Explained every dish, the origin of each piece and the presentation was delightful. This place only accepts 3 groups of 2 at a time and reservations are booked out way in advance, so plan appropriately! We already have new reservations for next month.“

“Beautiful new sushi restaurant at The Landing.
Presentation is awesome for quality sashimi and sushi!
They have another location that is much smaller in Newcastle.
The menu is large with lots of cooked items as well! Looking forward to trying more of the menu.“

“They offer an impressive selection, from traditional rolls to more unique creations like mango and eel rolls. There’s something for everyone. Service was quick, and the staff made sure our plates were cleared between rounds. They were also helpful in recommending new items to try. The rolls were well-portioned without too much rice, allowing us to enjoy more variety without feeling too full too quickly. For $30, the selection was worth it considering the freshness of the ingredients and the variety. Overall, this all-you-can-eat sushi place offers a fantastic balance between quality, variety, and value. Fresh fish, creative rolls, and friendly service make it a great spot for sushi lovers.“

“DELICIOUS sashimi. I really hope the owners find this comment. I'm leaving this review because my conscience won't allow me not to. Basically, I shared a very pleasant $90+ meal with a couple friends. However, I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not well-practiced/educated in tipping because I've so rarely eaten out in all my life. I SEVERELY under-tipped them for this meal, and I just feel awful because it was AMAZING service on top of really decent sushi and better sashimi.“

“I thought the walk was going to be worse coming off the link. It was just fine though. The sushi tasted phenomenal. The lemonade popping Boba drink was awesome. That drink is probably worth the trip alone, but the sushi was so fresh. Awesome little hidden gem, glad I found.“

“One of my favorite sushi restaurants in the Seattle downtown area. Its a good sign if the restaurant is always busy. I usually come here for lunch to avoid the crowds in the evenings. Always come here for the wicked sensation and mexican ninja. Theres a happy hour pricing before 5:30pm.“

“How special to get to experience one of the oldest Japanese restaurants in the country! Wonderful, classic Japanese dishes I’ve had a hard time finding in other parts of the US. Jean Nakayama (I think) was so kind and squeezed us in as walk-ins.“

“For a place closes shortly after lunch time, it's lucky for me to drop by for activity in downtown and finally got a bite of the poke / don. I tried #1 on the menu as it is a mixture of every fish, from the mackerel (tastes a bit like sea eel at first) to two-side-seared albacore, mixed with two types of fish roe (the big red + black caviar), aside from other kinds of fish you'd expect from poke, brings varieties and levels of flavors. If anything, they may get rid of the shrimp (one piece) to drop the price a little bit, or to work on the shrimp while maintaining the price. Also not many seats available which is worth noting.“

“BEST sushi around! New sushi bar in Kent next to McClendon’s Hardware (in former Save-U-More) FRESH fish and all the flavors were in point. Rice was PERFECT. We enjoyed 4 long rolls and they were LONG ( 10 pieces). Great owners and very welcoming. They are set up for large platters, in door seating (with Karaoke). Nice, new decor and restaurant.“

“I ordered the middle of the road omakase and got a good spread. the wild next to the farmed salmon was a fun comparison. I've never had squid cut in tiny curly bits like it was. I asked about Uni but was told they were out, which was disappointing. I'm also not a huge fan of scanning a QR code for a menu.“

“From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a serene and minimalist atmosphere that sets the stage for an extraordinary culinary journey. The ambient lighting and subtle decor create an inviting space where the star of the show—the sushi—takes center stage.
But let's talk about the sashimi, the crown jewel of this establishment. Each slice of fish is a testament to the chef's precision and dedication to quality. The freshness is undeniable; the fish almost melts in your mouth, leaving a delicate yet profound taste that lingers long after the last bite. Whether it’s the buttery richness of the tuna, the clean, oceanic flavor of the salmon, or the subtle sweetness of the scallop, every piece is a masterclass in texture and taste.
The presentation is equally impressive, with each plate resembling a work of art. The colors are vibrant, the cuts immaculate, and the garnishes thoughtfully placed to enhance, rather than overshadow, the natural flavors of the fish. It's clear that great care is taken not just in the preparation, but in the selection of the highest quality ingredients.
The service here is impeccable, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and respect for your dining experience. The staff are knowledgeable, offering insightful recommendations and making sure that your meal unfolds seamlessly.
Whether you're a sushi aficionado or someone looking to indulge in a special dining experience, sumo sushi is a must-visit. The sashimi alone is worth the trip, but the overall experience will have you returning time and time again.“

“My family and I have been coming here for years for lunch. They serve delicious, fresh sushi, poke and even ramen. We've also done company platters with them for work meetings, which are a hit! The employees and owner are very kind - they always remember my sister's wheat allergy and pack gluten-free soy sauce for us.
My favorite rolls are: Baked Salmon Roll, Spicy California Roll, Crunch Roll. I also recommend the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, Creamy Pop Poke, and Miso Soup.“

“A decent sushi lunch place. They have your choice of poke bowls, bentos, sushi rolls and nigiri and salads. I usually drop by here to pick up a quick lunch when I have a craving for sushi. Quality is ok, not bad and not great. I think the poke bowls are the best thing to try here“

“Wow! I wish I found this place sooner. Lunch special is $15 for gyoza + chicken teriyaki combo +drink. Best Gyoza I have had. nice and crispy on the outside, and large pieces. Chicken is great quality. ( Not chewy like some places!) and the sauce is sweet, but not too sweet. Also love that they spend the extra money on Compostable cups. Better to give your business to an environmentally friendly business. Place was spotless and owner was so nice. I will be back! Can not wait to try their other dishes.
Also, give fortune cookie which is such a nice little touch :)“

“Came here the other day with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the volcano, dynamite, and unagi rolls and they were all pretty tasty. I’m always hesitant trying new sushi places because often times the rice is too hard or sweet, fish not fresh, and sauce-to-roll balance off, but Azuma made some pretty good cooked-fish sushi rolls. I’m pleased to have a neighborhood spot.“

“Really good for an airport restaurant! The yakisoba was a huge bowl and delicious. It's airport prices so kinda spendy. Bubble tea was alright, definitely need to ask for less sugar and ice. Staff was friendly, and there were lots of other good looking menu options.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Moshiko in West Seattle, and I can’t rave enough about the experience. From the moment we arrived, Steve’s exceptional service set the tone for a memorable evening. His extensive knowledge and genuine assistance in choosing and pairing items made our meal truly special.
Steve’s expertise in recommending the perfect dishes was impressive, and he ensured that each item we tried was perfectly suited to our tastes. His attentive and friendly demeanor made us feel well taken care of throughout our visit.
The sushi at Moshiko was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and expertly crafted. The small, quaint environment added to the charm of the restaurant, creating a cozy atmosphere for our dinner. We were fortunate to secure a 5:45 PM reservation on a Friday night, which allowed us to enjoy the experience without the usual wait.
Overall, our visit was fantastic, and we’re already looking forward to going back for one of their full dining experiences. A big thank you to Steve for making our evening so enjoyable. His service was top-notch, and his recommendations made the meal unforgettable. If you’re in West Seattle, Moshiko is a must-visit, and Steve is the person to ask for!“

“Wow. What upgrades after covid. Conveyor belt almost never had wholes. Sushi salads ginger foods and desserts. Indoors looked updated with hard wood interiors upscale look. Order off laminated menu. Vs. No square or iPad ordering. The taste of all sushi items were fresh and spot on top quality sushi. Best conveyor sushi belt in Renton maybe the whole south sound. Affordable prices. Better than the last time I ate here during covid. Servers were high quality professional friendly and always there to assist and friendly upsell.“

“The Monster Roll I got was just that, a monster! It was so fresh and flavorful, I would come back for this! The stir fry my bf got was really good as well! We loved the sauce, and the chicken and vegetables were cooked perfectly. My only qualm was that the rice was kind of dry and had a weird texture for fried rice, but everything else was great! Very friendly service, but the place was pretty empty.“

“Very good and filling bento lunch from a cute yet modern hole-in-the-wall type place. Not to mention the price is very reasonable for downtown Seattle so you get your money’s worth! I’d recommend ordering ahead as it gets busy during lunch. Also they’re not messing around when it comes to their spicy katsu.“

“Years later, same great service and amazing food. My husband and I came in for our first time tonigh. Our experience was fantastic!!! The gentleman that greeted us and sat us was very nice. The woman that served us was exceptionally nice and very friendly we really appreciated her kindness and friendly manner. The service overall was very enjoyable and the sushi was delicious. We have tried a few different spots over the past few weeks and this will definitely be our spot going forward. Very good quality sushi, very reasonable prices and wonderful customer service. Thank you Omiya. We will definitely be back soon. UPDATE: Almost a year later and we now come here weekly and absolutely love this place and can't recommend it enough to friends and family!! Food is delicious and perfect everytime. Service is great and everyone is super nice! Will continue to be our date night go to for dinner for as long as they will have us. Thank you Omiya for always being awesome!!
Vegetarian options: They have plenty of vegetarian options, one of my favorite being the asparagus roll. They do it better than anyone else.
Parking: Parking is easy and plenty of spots available
Kid-friendliness: Kids seem to do okay in here from what we have seen. We visit weekly and have never seen a child upset. They have chicken karage ( I don't know that I spelled that correct) and fries that are really good. In case the child doesn't like sushi
Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible“

“I get takeout for lunch semi-regularly - they are always so fast, kind, and quality. It feels more old-school Seattle, including their teriyaki! They are one of the few places I'm willing to call instead of ordering online. I would love it if they had an online pickup option though. Either way though - support this affordable, delicious neighborhood spot!“
