“The chili relleno was delish (5 stars) after the Nigiri options limited keeps the babes fresh ( I think the portions are generous and this size issue may throw some people off) but I personally am not one to hate doggy/ride home treat bags.“
“Visited Tomo for my 12 year old's birthday dinner. It was a great place for a multigenerational dinner with grandparents and aunts and uncles. Everyone shared a sushi boat with several rolls and pieces of nigiri and it was fantastic. The vegetarian sushi was also quite good. Recommend if you are looking for affordable sushi in a relaxed location.“
“Decided to have sushi for dinner and stumbled across this place. The store was boarded up completely, turns out someone drove through their store and robbed them. Nonetheless I proceeded to head inside and was happy to see an excellent health rating by king county. As I sat down I was greeted by a very sweet waitress I orded everything she recommended and I have to say it everything was good! The first roll in my picture seemed like the sushi melted in my mouth, but had a crunch from the fried shrimp and cucumber. It was pretty spicy didn't help that I added heaps of wassabi. The second roll was the best it was a blast of flavors one of the best rolls I've ever had. By the time I got to the third roll I was already full! But had to finish and the third roll was just fine. Least favorite of the previous rolls. I sat for awhile and was only asked if I needed something once from a different server who kinda had an attitude. Overall I enjoyed my time.“
“I saw the reviews and had to try this place out. I was not impressed with the menu since it has only the basic fish. The fish was fresh and tasted good, but not great. The price was a bit outrageous for the portions they provided. However, you have to try it once to know it.“
“Amazing atmosphere, superb service, hidden gem. Sushi Kaunta is the best sushi/sashimi that I’ve had in the PNW and is on par with the same quality/tastes that I’ve had from other similar restaurants in Asia. I came across the restaurant online and thankfully the owner was able to help me with a table for one. The owner is extremely nice and provides personable service. I had the chef’s choice nigiri and ordered two additional pieces off of the menu, every bite was fresh and extremely delicious. Highly recommended and I look forward to when I can come back again! Definitely reach out in advance for a reservation and follow the clear directions on the website to make a reservation.“
“Cozy japanese restaurant! This place was a great meal with some great traditional atmosphere. I got the Variety Ozen for myself and the ika maru-yaki & the black cod collar miso to share. All were really good, but my favorite was the black cod collar miso. The texture was very soft and flaky and the flavor was on point.“
“I came to know this place for the Peruvian food, but I was delighted with the sushi, after having visited several Japanese restaurants, I chose this place, it is incredible, the attention given by the waitress Lorena was very special, my wife and I were delighted, I I recommend 100%“
“I've been eyeing this place since they opened. Finally had the opportunity to check it out. My wife and I ordered 6 items for take out. The fish for all the rolls were fresh and everything was tasty! I took a look at the interior when I picked up my food and man... it looks like a fancy sushi restaurant in Seattle! I'm a big fan and we'll be returning soon!!! Someone complained about them being "overpriced" they're probably used to eating gas station sushi for 4.99. the price for their food is very fair and it's 100Xs fresher. Don't listen to those clowns.“
“Sugo hand roll. Thank you for the experience. Waitstaff welcomed us and was really helpful when ordering. Ordered the salmon sashimi, scallop hand roll, salmon hand roll, and spicy tuna hand roll and they were all bursting with flavors. Chef Johnny- Thank you for the amazing hospitality. Your communication and professionalism really stood out and made my group of 5 feel really welcomed. Sugo will be a spot I recommend to anyone visiting and asking me for advice. Exceptional service and freshest of the fresh seafood. Don't forget the sake flight! Thanks Chef Johnny. You've raised the hand roll bar to a higher standard in my eyes.“
“Huge props to Chef Johnny! Experience with him specifically was amazing and the food was tasty. Our favorite was the seared king salmon sashimi and unagi hand roll. Unfortunately the waitress we had must have been having a terrible day or something bc her attitude was terrible. The hostess we first spoke with was very nice and upbeat, and another waitress seemed normal, but our main assigned waitress just seemed annoyed and pissed off, and was not attentive or very nice so we felt better talking to other waitress than our own. I hope it was just a bad day and not how she is all the time because she really brought the vibe down compared to the rest of the staff and experience.“
“I love this hidden gem and will def be back! If you're looking for a relaxed and welcoming neighborhood spot with great food, this is it. The sushi was excellent. I got a Cali roll and something with salmon and cream cheese that was tempura fried (I forget the name), chefs kiss!! The owner and sushi chef were so nice and very personable, it made it feel really welcoming. They serve a wide variety of drinks (I saw margarita glasses) and are bringing karaoke back soon.“
“We go twice a month and every time I love it here even more. The presentation of the food is incredible and it tastes even better. The people that work here are so great at what they do, the service is top tier. Watching the guys at the sushi bar.. it's art and they are so fun to talk to. Best miso and karaage I've ever had!! The line seems long when you walk in sometimes but they get you seated in under 10 minutes.Absolutely worth it to check it out!!Bento box is my favorite way to go “
“The Kudedon Bowl was quite amazing. It has Salmon, Albacore Tuna, grilled eel, shrimp, Tuna , and Ikura(orange roe) along with some shiitake mushrooms, greens on a bed of sushi rice. The staff was friendly and quick with the order. The place is in the lobby of one of the building in 4th Ave in Downtown Seattle so be prepared to either take it to go or sit on the lobby sofa or some of the stool by the main doors to the building. That said, don't be deterred by that, the food is worth it. Enjoy!“
“What a pleasant surprise to find in the Lower First Hill scene! Really awesome happy hour selection and deal with an intimate yet inviting vibe. Good quality sushi considering the price and a wide selection of non sushi items. Definitely recommend the Baked Salmon roll!“
“Stop in on a chance while I was towing cars in the neighbourhood. It was really really good, Wish I had more time to enjoy it. I was in a hurry with the food. It was made fast service was great definitely going to stop back in and check out some of the rest of the menue In the future. Thank “
“Amazing sushi -- and sustainable! The only downside is the server with the Coke-bottle glasses, easily the most annoying server I have encountered in my many years of dining. He was like something out of an episode of _Curb Your Enthusiasm_. If you have the misfortune of getting him, make it clear at the outset that you want to enjoy your meal in peace and will not tolerate his clueless pestering.“
“Our favorite meal in the PNW, by far. Reviews were great, so we went for it. It's definitely a place that would be busy on the weekends, so we went on a Monday.I've eaten some great sushi in several cities, but this was the most flavorful fish I've ever had. It all melted in your mouth with a buttery softness. Pieces that had tempura batter were scrumptious. We only had 1 dinner night in Seattle. Otherwise, we would have been back for sure. The server was attentive but knew when to let us do our thing. Terrific service overall and the food came out in a timely manner.Sushi can be expensive, but this place was fairly priced (low for its quality). Little corner place near Cherry Hill and Seattle University.Vegetarian options: Several rolls with all veggie options. The sweet potato roll was so good and simple.“
“Went there on a Friday for a laye lunch with a group of 6. We had reserved a head of time and was able to be seated immediately. There is a mix of Japanese and Korean specials. Coworkers got bento boxes bit the bibimbap was calling my name and it didn't disappoint. Came out sizzling in the cast iron bowl which gave the rice the crunch that I love. Would definitely go back. Also, service was on it and very polite.“
“There isn't a lot of choice when it comes to sushi or Japanese food in general in West Seattle. Thankfully, Irashai is great. I routinely get sushi takeout from here - they're quick to fill the orders and the staff is always pleasant and friendly. The non-sushi part of the menu is also really solid. Glad to have this place close by for my sushi needs.“
“Great service, great food! The host was able to seat us even though we had a reservation for the wrong day. He was very accommodating. Our server was lovely and we enjoyed her recommendations. Food was tasty, great menu selection. Make sure to leave some room for dessert.“
“Diamonji is a hidden gem. Don’t let the strip-mall location fool you (free, easy parking just off the freeway). This Japanese restaurant is delicious. Small family business with a full sushi bar and also table seating, they serve fresh sushi rolls and sashimi (special of the night was toro, New Zealand salmon and hamachi…all were so delicious), plus a variety of traditional Japanese dishes including udon, rice don’s, yakisoba, curry katsu, and bento boxes. We went to try the tempura udon (since a lot of sushi/Japanese restaurants don’t serve the traditional dishes) and was not disappointed. The broth was so rich and delicious and the tempura batter was very light. Highly recommend (no reservations were needed and walked in on a weekend night and sat down immediately).“
“Very good and filling bento lunch from a cute yet modern hole-in-the-wall type place. Not to mention the price is very reasonable for downtown Seattle so you get your money’s worth! I’d recommend ordering ahead as it gets busy during lunch. Also they’re not messing around when it comes to their spicy katsu.“
“Excellent service and amazing food. Our waitress was very courteous and welcoming! She answered all of our menu questions and made suggestions. Food made it to the table extremely fast!!!!!! Best service I've had in years! Highly recommend this place!!“
“I always pass this place on my way to work but since that part of Kent is zombie land I avoid going to any business there. I am glad I took the chance and didn't let the tweeker in the parking lot deter me. The service was fast, place clean, and food delicious.“
“Our favorite Japanese restaurant on the east side. Some of our favorite items include the kabocha fried rice, chicken katsu dinner, mackerel / saba, albacore tataki salad, any of the sushi and tempura. It can get busy here for dinner on the weekend, so I suggest reservations.“
“Definitely made my day. The fish melts in your mouth. I was impressed on how well the food was put together and how great the service was. Flavors were perfect. I arrived and the place was packed, but the time I noticed it I was already having my lunch and the rush was being handled extremely well with the staff.“
“My favorite sushi place in the international district. Food was fresh, delicious, reasonable priced. Our server was fast, friendly, attentive and checked on us to see if we needed anything else after we got our foods. We ordered the salmon lover, and shared the lunch special; lunch special comes with miso soup or salad also. My friend and I especially love this place because they don't pack a ton of rice in their rolls, and the extra perk is the free parking garage which makes choosing this place to eat a no brainer.Parking: Parking on 4th floor, entered through 10th AVE, take the elevator to 2nd floor for restaurant.“
“Urara had some of the freshest sushi we've ever had. It was delicious. The spicy tuna was not spicy, but tbh everything tasted so good i didn't care. The miso was made perfectly. We also had King Salmon nigiri and it was 10/10. Its a very small place, so i feel like everyone can hear your conversation. We will be back very soon??“
“Food here are amazing!! All the sushi rolls and udon we had were outstanding! Highly recommend fried oysters appetizer! Hiyashi Wakame seaweed salad was great too. Service was great, friendly staff and they have a really nice atmosphere. I'm excited to go again with our friends this week. This place is not an average sushi restaurant. If you want good quality sushi, I highly recommend!“
“I love eating teriyaki and I've been to several places all around the greater Seattle area. Teriyaki Box in Renton has a unique teriyaki sauce and great salad dressing sauce too. The service is friendly and fast and the tables are clean. The prices are reasonable for what you get and I would definitely come back again.“
“I'm new to the Renton area still exploring great Asian cuisine in the area. This is by far the best Japanese restaurant I have been to. The family is so nice, the food, atmosphere, and feng shui to this place is comfortable and cozy. If you need to destress during lunch or dinner in Renton, go to them! You also get to learn more Japanese words and they encourage you to communicate in Japanese with them (on the menu there is a list of common phrases). They are a small and wonderful operation. The woman at the front who hosts/serves/cooks not only does it all but she does so quickly. I love them, I will see them again with friends soon!“
“So delicious . New and exciting types of rolls and such. The prices are incredibly low. Between 2 of us we had 4 rolls,a bottle of sake and edemame. Including tip we walked out at just over 50$. It's very small and hidden but soooo very tasty and fresh.“
“I had a great Bento box here today. Took me forever to decide what to eat. Their menu is huge for me! I'll be back soon so I can try something else. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I lived in Japan for many years. Nothing compares to the food in Japan! But it sure was nice finding this restaurant today. I'll definitely be coming back!“
“After a last minute detour because the resturant we wanted to go to was closed, we stopped in at Wabi Sabi and couldn't have been happier! The resturant has a very nice interior that walks the line between relaxed and fancy perfectly. This resturant felt like the kind of place you could take your kids or have a girls night at, but also felt formal enough to have a date or special event at. The staff was lovely, Keith and Michael were great waiters and very helpful. Our orders were taken accurately and delivered super fast, and they were both friendly without being intrusive. But the food - what about the food? The sushi was great! While I will admit the menu wasn't the biggest or most creative, it covered all the bases of what you would want and they execute them perfectly. My favorite roll of the night was "The Anaconda" and it was *so* good. The salmon skin was *the best* I've ever had. The plating is nice, but nothing special and is probably the only criticism I would give them.Still, that does nothing to detract from the fact that this is a definite 5 star rating in my book. Any shortcomings they do have is overcome by the fantastic service and well executed menu.We will definitely be back :)“
“DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO OLD REVIEWS - THIS PLACE JUST OPENED!The flavor of the bowl is amazing! The rice has a delicioius sweetness to it, not just plain white rice. However the bowl is pricey for the amount of toppings you get.The place was also dark and really quiet. It would be much more inviting if the owner opened the blinds and played some music.“
“For about a week, I've been wanting sushi for dinner. I happened to be in Burien & drove by Tori Sake & Grill in a small, not fancy strip mall. Ordered miso & a couple of rolls - the Burien (quick deep fried) and a CA. Fresh, flavorful, can't wait to return with friends.“
