“Food was good. Service was good, but their QR code ordering system was really bad. We couldn't order individually in the app, and had to submit one order as a table. We had to seperate all our orders afterwards with the waitress, and ended up just splitting the bill down the middle.“

“Very good sushi and Japanese food. I don't remember many eclectic or unique items, but the menu is extensive and everything is well prepared. They have just about every kind of Japanese food and a nice variety of sake, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. The service is friendly and efficient.“

“One of my favorite Japanese restaurants (not to mention the oldest in Seattle) and it has never disappointed me. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and warm. It’s a difficult time we are in with the pandemic of 2020, but Maneki has transitioned to take out, which it never did before, and is so organized that it blew my mind when I saw how clearly labeled each item was when I got home. I could easily tell which was part of the teishoku 定食 or “set meal.” Support this small business because it needs us now more than ever. 01 DEC 2020.“

“My husband and I have been coming here for six years pretty regularly. The food is always delicious and in good portions, and we always love chatting with the friendly staff and owner! The sushi is always fresh and amazing. My husband loves the curries, and we both love the bento boxes!“

“ordering from the tablet at the table was cool and convenient. i liked the huge complimentary bottle of water. i liked the the rancho roll, but it was a bit too fishy for my wife and she preferred the fried california roll. we both liked the crunchy roll. the gyoza and takoyaki were good too“

“A total gem hiding in plain sight. Appa Sushi is easy to miss — it's tucked into a strip off a busy road (just off 516) — but don't let the unassuming location fool you. The service is spectacular. We rolled in mid-ride on the Green River Trail, and when we mentioned we wanted to eat in the nearby Riverview park, the staff were absolutely delighted to help and packed our lunch to go without missing a beat.
One warning: the portions are ENORMOUS. Thinking we'd be starving after biking, we each ordered our own bento box — big mistake, we could easily have split a single one. They pile on the rice, and I swear there was half a chicken in the chicken teriyaki. Super-nice staff, quick and easy service, and food that way over-delivers for the price. I can't wait to go back.“

“DELICIOUS sashimi. I really hope the owners find this comment. I'm leaving this review because my conscience won't allow me not to. Basically, I shared a very pleasant $90+ meal with a couple friends. However, I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not well-practiced/educated in tipping because I've so rarely eaten out in all my life. I SEVERELY under-tipped them for this meal, and I just feel awful because it was AMAZING service on top of really decent sushi and better sashimi.“

“Shiva provided the best service I’ve ever had at a sushi restaurant. Michael came in to relieve him and made sure we were fully satiated with our meals. Both Shiva and Michael gave us a great conversation and delicious food. Some of the best presented sushi as well. I’ll definitely be back. I would give this a 10⭐️if I could.“

“Yummy sushi, lots of options to choose from. Been there twice and they’ve always been e excellent. Only concern is that the food rating is ok, so it’s not ideal. Would eat more often if their rating increase. Owner is very sweet and nice.“

“Wow why aren't people talking about this place more! First off the menu is incredible - I spent about 20 minutes just trying to decide what to get because everything sounded so good! My waiter was very patient with me.
I ended up getting the lunch special spicy scallop and spicy tuna rolls, and the ocean queen. Everything was exactly what I wanted it to be. The fish to rice ratio was perfect, the fish was fresh and plentiful, and even the pickled ginger was above average. I NEED to go back and try everything else on the menu. Please give these guys a try!“

“This will forever be my favorite spot for lunch in seattle. Truly great options for Japanese fish and rice. Amazing quality and delicious meals. While some may be scared of the price this is seattle and these small buisness have high overhead we know this. And supporting a small buisness like this is 100% worth it for a truly amazing meal“

“Absolutely fire sushi spot. Fish tasted super fresh, rolls were packed and actually worth the price, and the presentation was clean. Staff was friendly and fast even when it got busy. The spicy tuna roll and salmon nigiri were probably some of the best I’ve had in a while. Atmosphere was chill, good music, and overall just a solid place to eat. Definitely coming back.“

“I ordered the middle of the road omakase and got a good spread. the wild next to the farmed salmon was a fun comparison. I've never had squid cut in tiny curly bits like it was. I asked about Uni but was told they were out, which was disappointing. I'm also not a huge fan of scanning a QR code for a menu.“

“A decent sushi lunch place. They have your choice of poke bowls, bentos, sushi rolls and nigiri and salads. I usually drop by here to pick up a quick lunch when I have a craving for sushi. Quality is ok, not bad and not great. I think the poke bowls are the best thing to try here“

“Got the Poke roll and the Gyoza
Average prices for the area
Poke roll ($12) was simple/kept the Ahi Tuna front and center with a nice touch of Japanese pepper(? I am guessing - it tasted like what I had in the past)“

“BEST sushi around! New sushi bar in Kent next to McClendon’s Hardware (in former Save-U-More) FRESH fish and all the flavors were in point. Rice was PERFECT. We enjoyed 4 long rolls and they were LONG ( 10 pieces). Great owners and very welcoming. They are set up for large platters, in door seating (with Karaoke). Nice, new decor and restaurant.“

“We thoroughly enjoyed the Okina O Shiri experience with a variety of Sake pairings. Every dish was delectable, and well explained. Mariah is a true artisan, and the entire team is an absolute delight. Mariah-San, thank you for an incredible evening (I’ll be dreaming about that okra and octopus for a long time to come)!“

“If you live in Renton or in northern Kent, this Teriyaki shop is amazing. The food is worth every penny, which isn't pricey at all. By the way, one of the only teriyaki shops that gives you a different kind of Salad dressing, and not the same thousand island type of dressing.“

“Walked up, asked for Yakisoba and a Sapporo, and it was ready in a few minutes. Seating is a little sparse for a location which serves alcohol, but I thought the portion was a good size, and they had Soy Sauce and Sriracha on hand to kick it up a notch. Closest I'll get to a Japanese vacation this year.“

“I tried Musashi for the first time and it was alright! I got a chirashi bowl which ran to $20 after taxes. It was a pretty small bowl but it was decent. It wasn’t the best chirashi bowl I’ve ever had nor would I come back here for it. It was nice to try a new restaurant but it wasn’t anything too crazy or extraordinary. There are about only 4 tables inside so it’s definitely not like a “dine-in” restaurant. The majority of their orders are to-go’s. It was a bit difficult to locate the restaurant as it’s clumped with the apartments.“

“Ordered a spicy teriyaki chicken with salad and gyoza as sides. Food in general was good and portion size was big too! However the rice was on the hard side (either dry out or overcooked?) in some spots so I couldn't finish everything.“

“More of a take out place. Food was ready fast. It was super hot. Had to wait a few mins before I could eat it without burning my mouth. Taste was delicious. More authentic style than American. But it's atop Beacon Hill so what would you expect. No parking and no seating area to eat. Just a few chairs so you can wait for your order. Had to park a block away and eat in my car. No regrets...“

“been here more than 10 times, staff are nice and mostly if they aren’t busy your almost seated right away. The food is cheap but you’re getting high quality food. They also have some mini claw machines which i think are pretty fun! A personal favorite menu item is the miso soup for only $1.95.Theres a big conveyor belt and color coded plates. At the end a waiter comes and counts how muc$ different colors of plates there are. Each dish ranges from 1.95-4.95.“

“I can't believe how long it has taken me to write this review. My family and I dine at this establishment weekly, sometimes twice in one week. We moved to the south end from N Seattle six months ago and initially had trouble finding a good sushi restaurant. We had tried several other restaurants in Southcenter/Tukwila area as well as others in Burien but I was very disappointed until we found Tomo Sushi. What has me coming back weekly, is the fresh fish, friendly and kind service and a nice atmosphere.“
