“This place has not disappointed us once. Yet again a delightful meal in a nice romantic quiet atmosphere. Don't let the outside deceive you. We had the tomahawk for two with mushroom risotto, Dungeness crab from the seafood bar and cream brulee for dessert. My husband is extremely picky about steak, as I am about seafood and we were both happy. Thank you for a wonderful 9th anniversary celebration bistro.“

“Just took my husband here for his birthday and it was fantastic. While my main choice reserving here was for my husband to enjoy the mind-boggling amount of whiskeys they offer, I was pleasantly surprised on how well prepared their food was. We ordered a nice spicy arrabiata pasta dish and Tom Kha inspired type stew. We both enjoyed our meals and felt inspired afterwards especially as we both enjoy cooking at home. Also they surprised my husband with a lovely horchata cake and candle. He enjoyed the whiskey and food. And promises to come back again. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Especially with providing a run down of all the different whiskey options and favorites.“

“One of the best meals we've ever had. We stopped in on a busy Saturday night after seeing some of the reviews and this place did not disappoint. We did have a reservation and were sat right away. The waitress greeted us and pointed out a few highlights then left us to narrow down what looked good. We decided on a a couple cocktails, trio of dips, duck breast and a steak. Everything came out timely and looked and tasted delicious. The drink selection was vast and we chose a nice bourbon to go with the crème brulee. Can't wait to come back.“

“as this was my first time trying gumbo, I'm not sure I'm fully qualified to judge this, but I'll give it a shot anywaynormally, I don't like soups, because they're mostly liquidhowever, this was less of a soup and more of a dish with a ton of sauce - due to how much stuff is in hereI loved that this bowl was completely packed with solid ingredients - so each spoonful got you a variety of different thingsthe most important thing in a soup is getting the broth right - and I have to say they pretty much nailed itthe liquid has some spice to it - which very much pleasantly surprised me, and in addition, it has great depth of flavorI found it to be probably the best part of the bowlnone of the toppings are particularly noteworthy - they're all pretty solid additionsas mentioned earlier, the amount of meat in here was pretty fantastic.I noticed chicken and sausage as being especially present throughout, and both were pretty goodthe bread was decent - I thought it could've used more toasting/crispiness and more butter - as it became a bit too softwhen dipped in the gumbothe fries were also ok - i would've loved if they were seasoned with some sort of cajun seasoning - but the sauce was goodthe price wasn't too expensive, around 15 dollars, but the portion size wasn't huge either - so it's about a wash thereOverall, good flavor with a ton of different ingredients. 8/10“

It is a very fine dining experience and my palette is not advanced enough to really appreciate it. The experience is a very fun date night or special occasion idea.“

“Daphne's is such a special experience and one I look forward to on every visit to Edmonds. There isn't a cocktail on the menu that I would not recommend, especially when you pair it with a slice of Moto Pizza from across the street. I must make a special shoutout to Desmond, a regular bartender, who treats every customer like family, makes them laugh, and ensures they have a one-of-a-kind experience. Be prepared to squeeze into this little hole in the wall, but I can assure you it's worth the visit.Kid-friendliness: Drop the kids at the movie theater next door and kick back at Daphne's ;)Wheelchair accessibility: Edmonds has a few places within walking distance of Daphne's that would be more suited for wheelchair access!“

“Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A very nice looking, relatively small room. Cocktails are nice, kinda stiff (I will admit I'm kind of a light weight). My favorite dish of the night was the Heritage Grilled Pork, actually a selection of pork cuts and a sausage with carrots and beans. It's kind of a pricey place, so we won't be back every week, but we will look for an appropriate occasion. They add 20% to the bill for service. Given the quality of service, we had no qualms about that.“

“Visiting Seattle, this restaurant was recommended by my sister. I ordered something like the clam spaghetti, which was rich and delicious. The middle-aged man who ordered the food remained enthusiastic and was not nervous about strangers like us who were not familiar with English. The kitchen staff, the bar staff, the entire restaurant were extremely friendly, cordial and professional. We ordered 3 pizzas! The kids were delighted. We showed our appreciation to the staff with a hefty gratuity. Thanks Vault 177! (Sorry no photos of the pizzas. Oliver's Twist Cocktail Bar • $$
6822 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle - 10.59 miles

“It's kind of hard to decide what to eat from Oliver's Twist if you look prior before going. The menu looks quite a bit different if you look at the website online versus what the QR Code has on the menu when you get there. Some things are the same but not many.Oliver's Twist is more like a cocktail bar and while we didn't get any of those and just focused on the food we didn't leave disappointed. I ordered a noodle dish, a vegan version of it. Sorry, the name of the dish escapes me so I apologize. If you like the picture in my review and decide you want it I'm sure the server will know by showing it to them.My noodles were good. The green onions always add a ice touch to these type of noodle dishes. My dish had a lot of soy sauce, maybe just a bit too much actually but it's only really noticeable when you get towards the bottom of the bowl.Much of the food has a fusion approach to it or at least to me it did which always add a new spin to more traditional recipes.“

“I feel like it needs to be said that the bar is under new ownership as of last year. Bobby has done a great job giving it a bit of a face lift, including refelting the pool tables. They offer some bites, but keep in mind it's pub food and not a Michelin star restaurant. We went for St. Patty's day and they had a phenomenal corn beef & cabbage. They are now open on Sundays for football and offer 1/2 off or free (can't remember but discounted) pool games. It's a dive bar, so keep your expectations in line, but it's a fun neighborhood spot with great staff and stiff drinks!“

“Friends came from South Carolina. Decided they should enjoy the brunch experience at Portage Bay Café. Across the street from the beloved dive bar The Sloop in Ballard was the closest.First and foremost: at this (and every) Portage Bay location reservations are absolutely necessary. Open Table app is a much easier option than trying to get someone on the phone especially if you're actually doing the same-day reservation. You'll always get voicemail. They're just that busy.Went an hour and a half before our reservation time to request a table for eight at 1:30PM. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and checked in to make sure everything was tracking. Fast-forward: it would actually be another 35 minutes before we would get to sit down. I share this because as I was leaving I heard another couple say they were 25 minutes behind their reservation. If you regularly go to Portage Bay Cafés across the city, you know that a longer wait is not unusual (but it's helpful to know if you aren't accustomed). But here's how we managed that time delay in that neighborhood. We had four kids between the ages of four and 11 so we decided to take a walk down the block to visit the Danbo troll in front of the Nordic Heritage museum. A great place to pause for photos. Then, what is not as well known is that there is a cool full-size labyrinth behind back. So we went around back through the parking lot to the back entrance to explore another great PNW tradition: the walking labyrinth. We and the kids walked the labyrinth -- turned out to be a super cool experience that the kids took to right away. They had never done one before. We had a hard time pulling them away and had to suggest we return maybe after our lunch. At 90 minutes on the dot we went back to the restaurant and we were told they were waiting for one table to get up so that we could be seated together.Due to no fault of the staff another 25 minutes passed. At that point a couple in our party indicated they might have to leave... because they were not sure there would be time to for them to sit and eat their meal once they had ordered bc they had to get to their next commitment.I mentioned this to the host/hostess team and they sincerely apologized because they realized it had been quite a while. Luckily with fresh turnover they were able to offered us the option to sit outside. That actually suited us well because it gets pretty loud inside, and when kids are hungry and overstimulated it's nice to be in the open air.We indicated we were happy to sit in the fresh air. We were offered blankets to help with warmth. The outside seats have umbrellas to keep you dry which was helpful since it was drizzling a bit bit today. We had our orders all ready to go and placed them immediately. And they came out with in 10 minutes! The kitchen was very prompt; our server Erin understood our situation and was great about taking our orders immediately and bringing everything out as quickly as possible. What was also great was the kids took to climbing on the squid bike rack that is in front of the restaurant and that kept them occupied for the 25 minute delay. Then they had a field day visiting the breakfast bar with their pancakes. They came back with their plates loaded: fresh strawberries, fresh blueberries, fresh raspberries, chocolate chips, fresh whip cream… It was like heaven. The pancakes came out as Mickey Mouse w/ the ears, and the kids appreciated that because they had been to Disney World earlier in the year. That pancake is a great excuse to get kids to eat fresh berries. With the adults the grapefruit and orange mimosas were very popular. Two of us ordered Seattle Benedict because the base is crab meat. The Huevos Rancheros came out tasting great with chorizo. We ordered some bacon and sausages on the side, maple pork sausages. The bacon had some nice pepper on it which I loved. The kids inhaled the pork sausages.Dietary restrictions: Excellent options for vegetarians, and vegans.Parking: Parking is the worst thing about this dining experience.“
