“High quality fish from this low-key sushi restaurant located in a plaza.

The fish is very fresh. We also ordered two rolls - one was the snow crab roll and another was a more roll with typical tempura shrimp or crab. Rolls had minimal rice and lots of seafood and fillings, which I appreciate.

Also, the salmon kama here was delicious. It was seasoned with only salt I believe and was served with a ponzu sauce for dipping. The fatty flavor of the salmon really shine through - the fish was so tender. Loved this!

“This was the perfect stop after picking up my folks from the airport. It was a chilly day and pho sounded good. Their broth was clean and good, not too salty or oily. Noodles were cooked well, not overdone and mushy. They have a fresh veggie bar that you could pick your veggies to go into your pho. This was a huge plus for me. The place was clean, well lit, and service was great, with staff being kind and friendly.“

I can’t say enough good things about this place, I’d rate it over a 5/5 if I could. The taste is delicious, authentic, and usually not overly oily. The food is affordable and come in large portions. They’re also very consistent in the quality. Also - how many places devein the shrimp? Even Haidilao doesn’t do it, and their menu is expensive. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes here, but so far I’d highly recommend the yang zhou fried rice, fish and crab maw soup, and dry chow foon with beef. They don’t get as much traffic due to the location, but I’m very grateful it’s close to me and hope they’ll continue to be in this neighborhood for a long time.“

“Good food! Good atmosphere! First time ordered Pho Tai and Spring Rolls. I ate all of it. Not too salty and plenty of everything. Good portion. Good service. Fair price. I wanted to stay and eat but a guy sitting next to me with his family was watching videos with the volume turned way up. Maybe he was rich and eats out often. I rarely eat out and it was good experience except for that guy. I took it home to eat.“

The balance between the spiciness and the coconut milk and other flavors is amazing. Other highlights are the Pho and I usually share the Beef Sticks as an appetizer. The sauce that comes with them is so unique and spicy; they should bottle it! Comes with sticky rice. The staff are friendly and always create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. It seems like a tall order. But it isn't. You just have to ask. And the answer is Mekenie's! Opened in 2018 by Monna Lisa Perez, the restaurant is run by her daughter Jonnarae greeting you in the front of the house and son, ChaRly in kitchen making up your tasty fair. Located in the Cascade neighborhood of Renton, Mekenie is housed in the Cascade Mall. Although unseemingly quiet, it quickly gets packed on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and sometimes on Sunday. The restaurant is also available for private bookings. On a technical note, their food and hospitality has aspects from the Pampangan region of the Philippines, known for its rich culinary heritage. This tradition was on display in this homestyle decor with homestyle tastes that any diner will recognize, and where Filipino Americans will find comfort. All are tasty. As an appetizer, I had the fresh, hand rolled, deep-fried pork lumpia - which came out piping hot out the fryer (awesome). I also had a traditional pork Sinigan with just the right amounts of tamarind, lemon, and tomato - making a nice clear consume broth. And just a little bit of Philippine style fish-sauce for taste. One note, no Coke products here. It must be Pepsi - Definitely a Filipino thing.Philippine brand snacks and drinks are also available to round out the experience. Stop by. “Our favorite pho restaurant in the area. There are so many pho places, but if you like pho, try this one out and have some of their melt in your mouth brisket :) our other favorite is the grilled chicken and spring roll salad bowl. Some of the best spring rolls, very fresh and flavorful. The portion size is great and plenty of food options if you are not into noodles.

The owner is super friendly. On hot days, he would bring us free iced lemon tea. We bring our kids here and they always accommodate us very well.

There are some very funny puns and jokes on the walls that give me giggles every time. Seems random but good entertainment.“
