“We've ordered pizza from here 3 or 4 times so far, and it's spot on every time! Probably some of the most flavorful pizza we've had in Seattle, with fresh quality toppings and baked perfectly. Will absolutely be ordering from here again.“

“Hidden Gem on Beacon Hill ✨
When I arrived at Family Friend, I honestly wasn’t sure if we were in the right spot. This hidden treasure only reveals itself by a small neon sign — unassuming, but absolutely worth the find. Once inside, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and comfort.
There was no hostess at first, but we were seated quickly by Sharon, whose smile and energy could light up any room. Her service alone deserves a standing ovation — patient, kind, and passionate about every dish she described.
🍲 Start with the Corn Soup (Rosary Style) — sweet corn, tender chicken thighs, coconut milk, onion, and garlic. It’s silky, vibrant, and layered with comfort and spice.
🥬 The Gollai Hågun Sope — mustard greens & kale in coconut milk and turmeric over corn. A vegan dream — not a large portion, but rich in flavor and nourishment.
🥟 Riyenu Empanadas — beautiful in presentation, though a bit too fried for my taste. The creamy green fina’dene sauce, however, was divine and worth the order alone.
🍹 Signature Old Fashioned — honey-forward and sweeter than expected; if you’re a traditionalist, you might prefer a classic version.
The outdoor patio was my favorite surprise — warm heaters, cozy art-covered walls, and an intimate setup perfect for date nights or quiet reflection. Accessibility was great, and while I wouldn’t call it “kid-focused,” it’s perfect for adults seeking calm conversation and quality food.
✨ Final thoughts: Modern, soulful, and filled with heart. A neighborhood must-try that feels like home away from home. I’ll be back to try the fried chicken and smash burger everyone’s raving about.

“Very cool bar near Greenwood with delicious drinks. The bartenders are absolutely amazing and keep the vibes up in the already neat atmosphere. They went above and beyond to make each drink special. Comfy seats, clean bathroom, and various snack options. It is a small venue so better for groups of 4 or less.“

“Such a fun place to grab a craft cocktail and some pho. The drinks were very unique and the pho was surprisingly very good. We also tried the Tofu Dip and the spring rolls. The dip was delicious but very rich and the spring rolls were very fresh. We definitely ordered too much food but it was delicious and a fun experience.“

“Best crunchy spicy chicken I had, I love that they have only drumsticks, and the order is huge. The cucumber poke was so refreshing and the pickled radish that comes with the order is so fresh and crunchy. The chicken sandwich was on the smaller side for me so I will definitely stick to the drumsticks. Miduem spicy is just right and I like spicy.“

“Super cool vibes and mood lighting made Guillotine a nice cocktail stop before a recent trip. We sat at the bar and while I didn't adore our drinks (they were a bit overcomplicated for my taste) we had a nice time and I'd come back for another try.“

“Wonderful place where meat eaters and vegans can delight in a delicious meal. Great wine section and craft cocktails. Quaint wine shop to bring something home or scoop a gift for a friend on the way to the party. Be sure to try the butter pickles!“

“service was very extremely welcoming and prompt. My first time here and I was craving Chinese food - I Ordered takeout which was promptly delivered hot in compostable and biodegradable takeout containers. No chopsticks or napkins offered. I ordered the egg rolls and prawn dumplings. I thought my appetizers lacked flavor; I couldn’t taste any prawns or the pork. I was so sad, but I would go back and try something else one more time….“

“Overall this was a great bar. Great cocktails, service, and atmosphere. What was shocking to me and hesitate to come back are the $25 cocktails. They do have amazing cocktails but wowza with tax and tip and spending $30 per drink, my belly is happy but my wallet is not. Don’t regret coming though!“

“I’ve always loved honey hole and will be the first to say the two owners between the first and current were awful. The new-ish owners are slaying though. Quality right back up there to call it the best comfort food on the hill. Get mama lils on the gooch and be ready to sigh in pleasure.“
“No food service, but there is a street taco place around the block that I often visit before enjoying a few drinks here. Several varieties of imported Belgian beers are the specialty as the name suggests. Small groups, few booths, quaint and quiet. Not much has changed since I first dropped in 20 years ago. I should visit more often.“

“Fun vibe and quirky unique decore. Friendly barkeepers. Separate pinball room with a good selection of machines and reasonable pwr play prices. Good food and some gluten free options for those who roll that way. Worth a stop in when you're in this neighborhood. Or a trip if you're seeking a decent meal, a fun decor, and a side of pinball.“

“Amazing cocktail bar focused on the wide variety inherent in Amari - think things like Aperol and Campari and Montenegro and Averna and many many others, each unique, with a few loose styles. Jeff the bartender uses his encyclopedic knowledge of the range of Amari to craft inventive cocktails. Even if you aren’t normally a bitter palate person give it a go.“
“We had a fantastic lunch at The Dandy! Tried the sardine tartine, mushroom frittata, and a shrub & soda, all delicious. The owner was very welcoming and recommended some great options. The recipes come straight from his wife, which makes them extra special. They’re now open for daytime service, and their wine collection is seriously impressive!“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 9/10 — Pasta Happy Hour at Donna’s (Seattle, WA)
The hubby and I tried Donna’s tonight for their pasta happy hour, and it was delicious! The service was great — our bartender, a fellow Bay Area native, was super sweet and attentive. The portions were generous and the prices unbeatable. We ordered two appetizers, two entrees, and a glass of wine for just $45 total!
The bar has a great vibe — low lighting, lots of plants, disco balls, and a killer playlist featuring Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and smooth R&B. Even on a rainy night, the place was full, which says a lot. Bonus points for the fun detail: there’s a projector in the bathroom playing Sex and the City!
Overall, Donna’s gets a 9/10 from me. Great energy, solid food, and a cozy, stylish atmosphere. Definitely coming back!“

“I had the best experience coming here! From the host Dannon, to our server Anna, service was top notch. My party and I all had lots of questions and everyone was super helpful.
The food was as is described; comfort. The lumpia was a stand out as well as the veggie patties. Next time I will definitely be trying the Ube Bread Pudding.
As if the food isn’t enough - the drinks are very clearly thoughtfully crafted. I had the Pecadillo which had a mellow sweetness with a tart ending. Perfection, big thanks to my bar tender Daniel!
If you are looking for elevated drinks, Filipino street food, sandwiches, and generous plates - come find the little speakeasy on an unsuspecting corner of Cap Hill.“

“If you’re in the Ballard neighborhood and looking for a cozy spot to enjoy some great cocktails, Essex is a solid choice. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back, making it the perfect place to unwind or start your evening off right.
The staff here is super friendly, and they’re not just about serving drinks—they’re genuinely passionate about creating a great experience. I usually like to ask for a bartender’s choice when I’m in a new spot, and Essex didn’t disappoint. Every cocktail I tried had a little creative twist, which is always a treat.
While it’s a great bar to grab a drink at, it’s also a bit of a placeholder for diners waiting on their table for the restaurant next door, so you might get a mix of folks coming and going. It doesn’t take away from the vibe, though—it’s part of the charm.
I’d definitely recommend Essex if you’re in the area. Whether you’re just grabbing a drink or hanging out with friends, it’s a great spot that I’ll definitely be returning to.“

“This place is great. I wish I had a place like this near my home in Illinois, because I would be there everyday.
On our trip to Seattle we stumbled upon this gem and found the whole vibe - for us, at least - to be comfortable and welcoming, with great music and attentive staff. Maybe not for everyone, but we REALLY loved Black Cat.
We met and talked with a variety of fun and interesting people - locals and otherwise - in there, and the overall experience was outstanding.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!“
“Old School Ballard Charm! I was so excited to be reunited with the comfy red booths from the Viking Pub! ( If you know- You know) This place has the potential to be a neighborhood gem. I recommend next time you want to grab a drink with a friend.“

“Food is a side note, Covid-19 protocol and all. All I ever get are almonds, but they are served in a glass with a smile.Great selection of beer. Decent off premise sale prices. Cool in the heat, warm in winter. Too bad it is so far from my neighborhood.“

“Very nice menu that is tasty and priced well. My husband and I shared a fig pizza $28 and chop salad $18. Excellent! The salad was very fresh and the dressing was good and homemade. The pizza has did, goat cheese, and prosciutto on a cheese base. The crust was perfectly cooked. Simple menu. Highly recommended.“

“If you only hit one spot in Seattle: go here. The pelmeni will send you to heaven and the owner is warm and welcoming. Turgenev vibes.“
“Hope the place succeeds. But for a women’s sport bar - the atmosphere is WAY too quiet. No music playing in the background. No tv sound is up
It’s like going to a friend’s wake and the tv is on.
I hope they can add a bit more ambiance to the space. Even basic background music would be a good step.“
“The best Tiki Marsala I've ever had. The cracker bread that is given as an appetizer is delicious, especially the green dipping sauce. I also enjoyed a Lychee Martini, it was refreshing and strong. Great, attentive service. Reasonably priced.“
