“This place has changed so much in the last 5 years. Its been completely remodeled and has an awsome atmosphere. As for the food its always been very good. I enjoy the plate size pancake and sausage patties. Its the best and biggest pancake i ever had. It will knock your socks off its so big lol. Ill post a picture. The place has everything from beer to fresh scooped icecream. New gas pumps make fueling up a sinch! And the customer service is like no other place. They make u feel welcome and they show there appreciation for your buisness. “I love the food here. It's my go-to for fish fry. They have the best in the area! And I've tried them all, believe me. The service is always great, very attentive servers. The place is just an old pub, but the food makes you forget about the space. My fam and I always get the All you can eat Haddock and we are never disappointed. Thin, flavorful coat ocer the perfectly fried fish. Not like other places where all you eat is breading. Keep up the good work and please next time have more clam chowder soup. “We had a nice dinner before heading over to "Dickens of a Christmas". Resteraunt was quite busy. At times, as quickly as they cleared a table, they sat someone. The staff was exceptional, smiles, and never an eye roll despite the unexpected volume. Shout out to the cools in the back, they didn't skip a beat.“
“A great stop as always . Be sure to get reservations and have cash with you. No credit cards . Tonight we checked in early and several tables were empty. We have never had issues like tonight getting a table without reservations. In addition, its cash only and the ATM was out of service. So bring a checkbook if you know what that is anymore. Its always a great time but i dont understand why you wouldn't charge 3 percent to every credit card and give that an option especially when your atm is broke.“
“Sitting out by the Fox River was amazing and food was delicious. Just confused about where to go and sit and thought our family was going to have to sit by the heavy smokers. We ended up outside by the river and it was amazing. Would definitely go again.“
“I have visited this bar and grill in Fox Lake, WI, three times now. The last visit was for the purpose of having the Friday Night Fish Fry. A good variety of fish dinners was offered; I selected the perch dinner. It was served quickly and was just as I expected. The owner and server were both courteous and appreciative of my business. “Love this pub! Darren and his staff are hard working and attentive. The food is awesome (gotta try the wings and burgers) and they have a good assortment of beverages. Darren in particular has a large knowledge of different cocktails and drinks making him one of the only professional mixologists i've ever met.“
“Went for the first time recently with a buddy who was in town fishing. After looking at the menu and hearing the specials we both decided on the ribs. They were very good. Portions were good as well. We ended up with the signature dish but there were other menu items like Sole that sound very interesting. Definitely will be back.“
“For a smaller business they do a great job. It's good home cooked meals. The only time we had to wait a while is when there is large groups in there. It's a nice quite place to relax and enjoy conversations with other people. Everything is made fresh, it's not sitting in warmers. We'll keep going back there.“
“Nice spot looking at Green Lake. We had the bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer and the salty bacon completely overwhelmed the scallops. I had the Branzino and the olive and capers overwhelmed the sea bass. Both dishes were cooked perfectly.“
“I had the chicken chili. It was delicious. They have a decent selection of beers beyond the usual swill that is served everywhere else. We shared a pizza. It was good. I didn't particularly care for the flavor of the sauce, but that is just a matter of personal taste. Everyone else seemed to really like it. The cheese was a little light for my liking, but again, everyone else was OK with it. There was a fair amount of toppings evenly distributed across the pizza. We ordered the meat special, which includes pepperoni, sausage and I forget what all else.The service was very good, not surprisingly because we were the only party in the dining area, but our server was very pleasant and friendly. My family got to talking to her about the change of ownership of the place and she had nothing but nice things to say about her bosses, the owners. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.I don't see the chicken chili on the list to recommend but I do recommend it. It is very tasty.“
“So this is mostly a typical Wisconsin tavern, BUT they have a dining area, and some of the best broasted/fried chicken I've ever had. Their Friday all you can eat Fish and Chicken is not to be missed. The wings are also pretty darn good. They are super casual and you can expect a long wait, so I recommend making a reservation. Sit at the bar and drink! The FIBS are usually done with their Boating by 4, so get there early! They have some craft beer on draft, as well as a frozen margarita machine. (get the 50/50 mix Strawberry and Regular trust me) AND you can get them to go! It may not look like much, but this place is definitely worth stopping by for.“
“We have visited the Boat House on two occasions, both were exceptional. Casual, relaxed and friendly. The staff will make you feel comfortable and well cared for. Food is good and prices are fair; especially their specials. This is a great summer stop, but winter is very good too. during the winter, you will not be able to take advantage of their outdoor amenities (Tiki bar and lawn games, and boat dock) but there is plenty to offer indoors.“
