The ambiance of Joey Crowfoot is lively and warm. Comfortable seating, perfectly sized tables, and excellent lighting. Our server, whose name I can't recall - tall dark and handsome and a theater major - was attentive and friendly. The food we had was absolutely incredible. We chose goyza dumplings to start which were so flavourful and perfectly cooked. My daughter ordered the hamburger and fries and even with her braces bothering her, she demolished. My blackened chicken with warm potato salad was hands down the BEST meal I've had in a restaurant in a long, long time. I will be dreaming of that salad until I can get back there again !!”

The two others had some wonderful eggs-benny. My eggs were perfect, the toast was perfect, the bacon was crispy, and the sausages were spicy and succulent, making for a delicious meal. Arlene was wonderful throughout the whole meal so thanks to her especially!”

The menu offered a great variety, and everyone at the table found something they loved. Portions were generous, and the flavors truly stood out. The service was excellent as well. “The experience was disappointing. Previously we had a good evening but this time the food was off. My wife was unable to chew the Calamari at all - it was inedible. The squash soup on the other hand was delicious for both of us. My steak of the surf and turf was quite ‘chewy' and more rare than the med-rare I asked for. The fries and grilled veggies were good. My wife's lamb was rare and she had to send it back hoping to have it cooked a little more. Not much progress there as not still came back blood red. The service however was excellent and there was recognition of my wife's birthday which was much appreciated”

For the udon, i tried the Rose Tteokbokki Udon , its creamy with a hint of sweetness and the spiciness is just right., its like tteokbokki without the rice cake, they forgot my fish cake with it but when i told the server , they wanted to make me a new bowl but i told them , they just can give me the fish cake on the side which they did and its so good with it too

It’s rare to find a place where the prices are low but the quality doesn’t take a hit, and this spot really delivers. Every dish we tried tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with more care than you’d expect for the price point. I'm not saying the food was perfect or life changing, but very good for the price.
The portions were generous, the flavours were pretty on point, and it didn't feel “cheap” except the actual cost — which is a huge win. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite for your lunch break or planning a casual meal out, this is a great choice if you want good-quality food without spending a lot.
I will say that it does feel a bit like a cafeteria, which doesn't surprise me too much considering it's surrounded by office buildings all around downtown. It's not like a formal restaurant with table service, reusable plates and utensils and such, but still a very cozy little spot.
Overall, it’s a budget-friendly place that doesn’t compromise on taste or quality. It did lack a little authenticity and there are small things that lowered the taste experience a bit, but absolutely zero complaints for the price. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for great value at a cozy little spot.”

The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere. It was certainly the best evening we have at Hy's over the last decade, and I don't think I'm overstating it to say it was a "Once in a Lifetime" experience. Watch out for their announcement/s at Instagram and book at TOCK. I got mine in November 2021 for February 2022 dinner. Chef Darren shared that in the latest offering, 36,000 people went in and it sold out in 30 seconds. You will receive an email for dining reservations and included are instructions how to get to Eight. Located at ALT hotel at East Village in Calgary, Alberta. Complimentary underground parking. Be early, reception will send you at NUPO bar before you’ll be invited over to the secret door leading to your seat. 2. FOOD There are no words to describe the gastronomical experience this 15-course dinner (with snacks) offered. All the superlatives can be used. Fall in love with the plethora of Canadian ingredients married into the greatness Chef Darren’s mind. Well intentioned sourcing of fresh local, farm owned ingredients in your plate. Each made great with time whether it’s the reclaimed dairy cow’s beef, cured bacon goodness — it’s clear! (yum) and rich chicken broth. From east to west ingredients, indulge in what each coast brings through texture, colour and scents. It’s a win after win, one plate, one bowl at a time. 3. PAIRINGS Truly recommended to take it! As serendipity has it, it was Season 8 and Eight’s 2nd anniversary. The last pairing of Espresso, Licor 43 was replaced by a Ruinart Blanc de Blanc to celebrate with Chef Darren and his staff. Lucky! 4. AMBIENCE Low light, one bulb overhead per person highlights the food in front of you. Across is a marbled island where the action happens. It’s a cozy distance to chat with other guests to your side and still well-spaced to enjoy your spot (and your date!) We ended up staying for dinner, and every dish was beautifully prepared, tasty and original - not just a variation on something you would get at a restaurant down the street. I originally was a little disappointed to get seated at the bar instead of a table - now I would not want to sit anywhere else. “I had dinner tonight at The Himalayan (17 Ave SW). It was my first time here, and only my second Nepalese restaurant I’ve been to. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and very kind. The restaurant is clean, and intimate. Parking isn’t ideal, but that’s not their fault! I started with the pork momos as an appetizer. They were excellent, but quite expensive ($16 for six regular-sized dumplings). The flavour was great, and they tasted very fresh. For my main, I had Chicken Dal Bhatt, which came with three small dishes of meat and curry and lentils, along with rice, naan and some side dishes. Each of the individual dishes had incredible flavour. They were also hot and fresh, as were the momos. The meal was served on a metal platter, and the small bowls were also metal. It was beautifully presented. As soon as I finished my main meal, the waiter offered me a chai and mango pudding (included in the meal). The chai was aromatic and spicy and earthy and amazing! The mango pudding was icy cold (also in a metal dish), and hit the spot at the end of the meal. For my appetizer and main meal, I opted for mild / zero spice. Everything was so flavourful I don’t regret this decision. However next time, I’ll live a little and try the medium heat. Overall, this was a 10/10 for me and I’m really glad I had the chance to try out this restaurant!!”

The drinks from their main menu have awesome names and fun presentations. Staff were super friendly and kind. Loved the experience and would come back again. Shaheen and Juma are also incredibly friendly and always attentive to customers’ needs. The shop is cozy, clean, and just a few blocks from the Kerby C-Train station. If you’re driving, West Village offers heated parking on P1, and there’s also an Indigo open lot across the street. It’s a convenient place for a business meeting or simply catching up with friends. Truly an amazing spot whenever you need a dose of caffeine.”
