Her shop has a large selection of loose leaf teas and it was busy in there but she was patient and helped us find something we liked, even offering us a sample of their house tea. The tea sandwiches were flavorful and delicate. The doughnuts were so good!!! There’s so much to see in this little shop and plenty of delicious treats. I will be back!”

Everything was fantastic, especially the green sauce that accompanies the fried tofu. This green sauce is made from cilantro, jalapeño, and a type of fruit that adds a touch of sweetness; it is not spicy. I recommend asking for it on the side, as it creates a unique flavor when paired with the steak. This experience really highlights why the restaurant is named Umami!”

My partner got the lettuce wraps, which also come with a delicious sauce. He ordered a vodka with their scratch ginger ale while I had a nice pinot noir. Great service, ambience and excellent food. “Hello! Most of the time I would put this coffee shack as a highly recommended place. However, today at 1:25pm Sunday Aug. 1, 2021, it was not. The girls working at the shack were very gloomy and disorganized and got our orders wrong. They both seemed like they were totally spaced out. It is such a shame because every other time we have come here, they have been terrific. I love the coffee and frappes here. Just today, it was bad. Please don’t give up on coming here. Hopefully, there will be some friendlier and more helpful baristas next time.”

First off one of the cleanest places I’ve seen, very nice and helpful staff especially with placing a to go order. Omg the portion sizes for a Mongolian beef bento box was enough to feed two people and reasonably priced. Definitely my go to bento box place.”

Service couldn’t be better and have met the manager Monica who is just always happy and adds to the experience. When I’m feeling blue I come here and that frown turns upside down. “Stumbled upon Arigato by accident staying at a motel down the street while I overnight in Anchorage on my way to work for 5 weeks up in the Northwest part of the state. I was HUNGRY when I came in and ordered several dishes-edamame, spicy tofu, tempura Halibut (seasonal), and two sushi rolls. The owner who was waiting on me also surprised me with a delicious little soup and salad to start the feast. Every dish was one more delicious than the next. The edamame was piping hot with perfect amount of salt, spicy tofu 10/10, the tempura halibut had so much flavor and dipped in a little splash of soy sauce was so tasty, and the sushi rolls were fresh and flavorful and delicious. I will get a ride across town to eat here again if work lodges me at a different hotel on my next trip in October-I will absolutely be back! And yes, I ate it ALL!! This place is an absolute gem.”

After we paid our bill I spoke to the manager upfront and explain the situation. She was very apologetic. Explained what was going on and then offered me a $30 gift card to come back from the valley into Anchorage to give Olive Garden another chance. I was impressed with her customer service her honesty and her willingness to make it right. Olive Garden is still one of my favourite places to eat.”

“Brewerks is the kind of place you hope no one else discovers—but you can’t help telling everyone about it anyway. It’s tucked into an industrial corner of Anchorage with no frills, no fluff—just incredible beer and the kind of atmosphere that feels real. Inside, it’s welcoming in that quiet, unpolished way: barrel tables, a loft above, and Chad (the owner and brewer) probably behind the bar, pouring the beer he made himself. That kind of presence matters. You feel it in the space and in every pour. The beer is creative, clean, and thoughtful. No shortcuts. The hazy IPAs hit just right, the stouts are layered and rich without being overdone, and the rotating sours and goses are genuinely interesting—not trendy for the sake of it. You can tell he’s brewing for flavor, not followers. It’s a place where the beer speaks first, and then the people do—and both are worth listening to. If you like places where you can actually hear yourself think, where the beer is the centerpiece without needing to be flashy, and where the owner still cares enough to look you in the eye—go to Brewerks. It’s one of the best things happening in Anchorage.”

I had haddock pan seared with green beans and couscous. It was good but a little dry. Then I had a cherry pie with vanilla ice cream and caramel. It was delicious! Overall it was a nice experience.
